Winter Stillness is a mage ability from the Winter tree in Dragon Age: Inquisition.
Information[]
- Meditation idle threshold: 3 seconds
- Under a meditative state:
- Mana regeneration rate bonus: 50%
- Undocumented: -33% Cooldown Times
- Willpower on unlock: +3
Notes[]
- The slightest movement, even from attack animations such as Energy Barrage, will reset the idle threshold to 0, disabling the mana regeneration bonus until another 3 seconds have passed without movement.
- While Winter Stillness buff is active, cooldowns recharge 33% faster. This means that if you activate a Barrier (which has 24 seconds cooldown), and stood still (under Winter Stillness effect) for the entire time, the Barrier's cooldown would be 16 seconds. However, if you cast Barrier and stood still (under Winter Stillness effect) for 9 seconds (recharging 9+3=12 seconds of Barrier's cooldown), and then started moving (losing the Winter Stillness effect), the remaining cooldown would be 24-12=12 seconds. This will leave Barrier with a total cooldown of 9+12=21 seconds.
- The cooldown reduction effect of this ability stacks multiplicatively with cooldown reduction items. For example, with the Master Cooldown Amulet equipped, the Barrier spell cooldown is reduced from 24 seconds to 24 * (1 - 0.33) * (1 - 0.20) = 12.864 seconds (-46.4% cooldown time).
- This ability shares an underlying status effect with Combat Clarity and thus does not stack nor trigger if either is already active.
