“Can I get you something to eat or drink? I have... water.”

Welcome Home is an Act 1 companion quest for Merrill in Dragon Age II.

Acquisition

This quest becomes available after Long Way Home, the Act 1 main quest in which Merrill joins Hawke's party. It is available whether or not Hawke told Merrill that she could expect a visit.

Walkthrough

Simply travel to Merrill's Home in the Kirkwall Alienage in Lowtown, and then speak with her. Hawke will ask how she is getting on without her clan.

Result

Hawke can earn friendship or rivalry points depending on the second dialogue choice that is made:

  • "Don't thank me."
    • Rivalry Merrill: rivalry (+5)
  • "You're welcome."
    • Friendship Merrill: friendship (+5)
  • "Did you really?" (Flirt)
    • Friendship Merrill: friendship (+5) pcpcxbox360xbox360

NOTE: For PC V1.04, the flirting option did not yield a positive approval change. It should also be noted that if "Did you really?" is chosen, not only does it not reward you positive approval points, it prevents any approval gains thereafter, positive or negative, for the rest of the game.
