The Warden Commander armor set is a massive armor set in Dragon Age: Origins. It requires the Warden's Keep DLC.
The Warden Commander Armor Set is a powerful set of massive plate armor that requires the Warden's Keep DLC. The armor scales with the Warden's level – for example, the set is made of veridium (Tier 4) when it is found at level 9 and dragonbone (Tier 7) at level 18. The tier level is determined by the Warden's level when they first enter the Soldier's Peak area - not when they acquire the armor (i.e. if you are level 8 when you enter Soldier's Peak but level 9 when you acquire the armor, it will still be tier 3 Steel).

{{SpoilerDAO|style=short|
Through multiple trials, it is concluded that to obtain the lowest tier (grey iron) Warden Commander Armour Set, one would need to be at Level 5 or lower when Soldier's Peak is first accessed. From the perspective of a rogue, it would be the most beneficial to obtain this armor set at its lowest tier due to the fact that strength required to equip would only be at 24 and would cause the least fatigue. If one wishes to export a character wearing this armor set into Awakening, it would also be beneficial to obtain it at its lowest tier, as the armor set benefits and fatigue are both permanently "stuck" on the character when the armor disappears (All Warden's Keep DLC items disappear when character is imported to Awakening, so it is generally preferred to have the least possible fatigue if one wishes to utilize this exploit).

The following are some of methods that could be employed:
* The set does not import into Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening. A player character wearing the set at the end of Origins will begin Awakening without any armor at all. However, the armor and fatigue will be carried onto the character, as if the armor merged with the character. This allows for a ridiculously damage-resistant imported warden-commander in Awakenings.
1. During player's origin story, let friendly NPCs perform the killing blow on enemies as to avoid gaining XP.
** An unofficial mod can be found here which allows users to transfer all of their DLC items over to Awakening when making a new character or importing their Origins character. Make sure the items are in the inventory or being worn at the time of transfer.
2. Avoid as many of the fights as possible in both the origin story and Ostagar.
It also helps Arcane Warrior to use their Spells for tanking and reduces the stamina burden placed on Weapon and Shield Warriors due to their many passives.

* With the set bonus the total fatigue penalty becomes 16.35 not 28.35.
4. Once you arrive at Lothering, do not do any quests and head straight to the Imperial Highway exit to go to Camp, then to Soldier's Peak (one can avoid the peasant and bandit fights by removing all companions first then taking the left path, walking close to the windmill).
Bugs
NOTE: Players need not worry as accessing Lothering after completing Soldier's Peak would still be possible as long as none of the main quest lines have been initiated/completed. The same holds true for the other two main campaign DLCs, The Stone Prisoner and Return to Ostagar.

 +
* Xbox360the set is currently bugged and will therefore not give a set bonus.

* No griffon appears on the breastplate if character is a female elf. Appears to be fixed in the downloaded PS3 version.
There appears to be one downside to arriving at Soldier's Peak with a very low level Warden, as the Warden Tower Shield (rare loot) did not drop after the boss was defeated in combat. After extensive testing (reloaded battle over a hundred times), it appears that the minimum level the shield would drop would be a Warden at Level 6 (perhaps even more rigorous testing would be needed to confirm this). This implies that if the player is also interested in obtaining the Warden Tower Shield, the lowest tier Warden Commander Armour Set that can be obtained would be tier 3, Steel.

The set has no helmet but Mikhael Dryden sells a Grey Warden Helmet that has exactly the same colors as the set.

Upgrading
* On the console version, the armor can be upgraded by putting it in the party storage chest, leaving the map and returning.

* On the PC version, the armor can only be upgraded by selling it to an NPC vendor such as Mikhael Dryden.
