The Venatori are an armed cult of Tevinter nationalist supremacists working to sow chaos in other nations across Thedas to further the machinations of their mysterious deity, the Elder One, whom they believe will restore the glory of Tevinter.

They are not officially sanctioned in any capacity by the Tevinter Imperium.

The Venatori revere the ancient Tevinter Magister turned Darkspawn Emissary who according to Lord Livius Erimond and Gereon Alexius, will make the Venatori god-kings who will rule over Thedas in his stead when the Elder One conquers the Black City and becomes a god. To this end, they dedicate themselves to destroy the southern lands until a new Tevinter under the leadership of the Elder One emerges[1].

The Venatori, led by Gereon Alexius, take over Redcliffe Castle in Redcliffe Village. Using time traveling magic, Alexius was able to conscript the rebel mages before the Inquisition. Should the Inquisitor choose to recruit the rebel mages, the Inquisition will oust Alexius from power and have the rebel mages align with the Inquisition.

If the Inquisitor chooses to support the Templars in the Champions of the Just mission, the Venatori with Arl Gallagher Wulff's aid[2], are bolstered by brainwashed rebel mages and are the force that attacks Haven in In Your Heart Shall Burn.

Lord Livius Erimond, a Venatori Magister, convinced Warden-Commander Clarel and the Grey Wardens of Orlais to use their blood magic techniques to raise a demon army to invade the Deep Roads and kill the Old Gods before they wake. The demon binding rituals Erimond taught the Grey Warden mages however has the side effect of enslaving them to Corypheus, who will use them to conquer Thedas. The Grey Warden mages of Adamant Fortress are corrupted while their warriors are used as sacrifices. After the Inquisition confront Erimond and Clarel, the Inquisition can have the option of recruiting the surviving Grey Wardens or banishing them from Orlais.

Grand Duchess Florianne de Chalons aids in the Venatori in infiltrating the Winter Palace during the Orlesian Civil War to assassinate Empress Celene and cause chaos throughout Thedas. The Inquisition attends the ball and kill the Venatori infiltrators.

Venatori stationed in the Hissing Wastes attempt to recover the key pieces to enter a dwarven ruin.

The Venatori set up a red lyrium smuggling operation along the Storm Coast, planning on transporting red lyrium to Minrathous to convert the Imperium's slaves into an unstoppable army to turn the tide in the ongoing Tevinter-Qunari war for Seheron. The Inquisition and the Ben-Hassrath cooperate to sink the Venatori ship with a dreadnaught. If the alliance is continued, the Ben-Hassrath aids in operations to uncover Venatori plots, from foiling an attempt to attack Denerim with a fireship, to tracking the Venatori's spy network in Orlais to subverting the infiltration of the Mortalitasi in Nevarra.
