Utha is a female dwarven Grey Warden, first seen in Dragon Age: The Calling and briefly in Dragon Age: Origins – Awakening. She is mute, and uses sign-language to communicate.
Background
Utha is one of the Silent Sisters -- female dwarves who cut out their tongues in emulation of Astyth the Grey. Utha joined the Grey Wardens afterward, to avenge her family, who were slain by the Darkspawn. Throughout the events of The Calling, Utha becomes tainted by the Darkspawn taint and decides to join the Architect.
Involvement in Awakening
She is seen at the Architect's side, apparently offering violent solutions to his problems -- though she never says a word, all of her dialogue must be inferred from The Architect's responses. The Architect says that she used to be a Grey Warden, and his dialogue suggests that he promised her that he would form an alliance with the Wardens.
If the Warden decides to fight the Architect, Utha fights as well, and drops Doge's Dodger.
