Happy New Year! Edit

Hi Vikky, happy new year to you as well! Yes, my turkey dinner was delicious! I hope you had great holidays too!

I plan to be around as much as I can on the wiki in 2013--and to help more with Project Aeducan as much as I can. It's been busier lately for me than I expected and I haven't been able to get as much work done on the project as I'd hoped yet.

Best, LadyAeducan (talk) 00:04, January 2, 2013 (UTC) (p.s you can call me Jen if you want)

Death is but a door. Time is but a window. I'll be back. Oh and happy belated new year!

page of Lady Morag Edit

I started making page about Lady Morag, one of the conspirators against the Warden - Commander. I know you posses her image, so please add it to page about her. (talk) 15:30, January 2, 2013 (UTC) Just call me Dalish fan.

Actually I never intended to create a page of Lady Morag, due to insufficient information that we have about this character. We only know she is in the Oaths of Fealty and And You, Esmerelle but more than that, nothing. Perhaps it's better to delete that page, don't you think? Viktoria Landers 16:22, January 2, 2013 (UTC)
Lord Guy is also a minor character, but we have a page about him. The Idle Dwarf is also a minor character. We know Lady Morag is one of minor nobles of Amarantine and one of the conspirators, about Lord Guy is written the same and he has own page. I think it's enough to let her page exist. (talk) 16:59, January 2, 2013 (UTC) Just call me Dalish fan.
Unlike them, she has a single unimportant discussion line in the whole game, she does not give or influence quests and isn't mentioned at all by any character. That's some of the differences between the Lord Guy/Idle Dwarf character pages and Lady Morag's. Anyway, it doesn't hurt having a page for her either, so I worked on that page. Viktoria Landers 18:11, January 2, 2013 (UTC)

Cassandra seeker=templar? Edit

Someone, ereased form trivia about Cassandra info that templars and seekers aren't the same. Do you think are t and s the same like the last contributor? On pages about the s is written s are chosen among t, but they watch over t, not are them. I think the previous note was correct, but I need agreement of others to make it return permanently. (talk) 21:24, January 3, 2013 (UTC) Just call me Dalish fan

I think there is a link between templars and seekers but I don't know more about this subject. However, I'll ask around. Viktoria Landers 13:34, January 4, 2013 (UTC)

wrong image Edit

Heavy_Plate_Armor_Set is a massive armor and has image of a heavy armor. Just look on this page Heavy Plate Armor Set.It should be changed. (talk) 08:39, January 7, 2013 (UTC)Just call me Dalish fan

The image is accurate. That is massive armor. Viktoria Landers 18:31, January 7, 2013 (UTC)

Idea Edit

Hi Vikky,

I'd certainly be interested in trying to compile a good listing and backstory on the dwarven rulers. I have some information from the tabletop books produced by Green Ronin and I'll try to dig up what I can from the games themselves to see what else I can find. It's high time this information was added to the wiki. Thanks for thinking of me for this task.

What's your other idea? :-)

Best regards, Jen LadyAeducan (talk) 02:13, January 8, 2013 (UTC)

As this is no small task, it will require us reviewing again almost all the existing dwarven lore. So while we are at it, we can also categorize the other dwarves' pages based on their caste (you know categories are important on wikis). Anyway, it is great that you are interested in it. I also have an idea on how to make this task easier for us. But I'll need a live chat for it, so please join the DA IRC whenever you like :) Viktoria Landers 12:26, January 8, 2013 (UTC)

Sounds interesting! Yes, I'd like to help with that too, of course. I can begin roughing out the page on dwarven rulers with what info I have to start with and I'll join in on IRC to speak more with you, probably some time over the weekend. I'll have some free time then to chat. LadyAeducan (talk) 00:57, January 9, 2013 (UTC)

You can join me now, provided that you can spend 10 minutes :) As for the weekend, I will be online, but you'll probably find me away, so please don't quit the chat immediately. Viktoria Landers 01:02, January 9, 2013 (UTC)

release dates Edit

Hello, Victoria. I suggest to put release dates of all chapters of DA:Silent Groove; DA:Those who speak and DA: Until We sleep. You already put a date of releasing 2nd chapter of the last mentioned comic. What do you think abou this? (talk) 12:31, January 9, 2013 (UTC)Just call me Dlaish fan.

Sounds good, though I don't know where to find all the dates. If you can, then feel free to add them in the respective pages. Viktoria Landers 13:18, January 9, 2013 (UTC)
All dates on page DA:Those who speak are already revelated. (talk) 13:55, January 9, 2013 (UTC)Just call me Dlaish fan.

Kasch Edit

Lastly you edited Kasch. I wrote as trivia that in 19th century Europe beggers sold their teeth, which were later used for manufacturing dentures. I read about it in some history books long ago. I don't know how to proove it, but I see Kasch as a reference to this. My problem is this trivia can sound unbelieveable. (talk) 23:08, January 9, 2013 (UTC)

You can probably find that source in wikipedia and then post the trivia along with a reference to that page. That's the best solution I think. Viktoria Landers 02:41, January 10, 2013 (UTC)

Edit summaries Edit

Hey Viktoria,

With all the great edits you've been making lately, it's not always easy to see what you're up to. If you you can use the edit summaries a bit more, it will alleviate the issue. Thanks! Friendship smallLoleil Talk 02:00, January 14, 2013 (UTC)

When there are more than one things I am doing in each edit, I'd have to choose between a very long edit summary or wrongfully include only one of those things I altered/removed/added or not write anything at all. Out of these three options, I tend to choose the last one. Viktoria Landers 02:03, January 14, 2013 (UTC)
It doesn't have to be detailed. Something like "Standardizing layout" or "Correcting errors" can get the point across when you're doing some article clean-up. Smiley Friendship smallLoleil Talk 02:14, January 14, 2013 (UTC)
But even in that case, you wouldn't have still gone and removed the red link? Icon wink Viktoria Landers 02:16, January 14, 2013 (UTC)
If I knew you were planning a page move, no. In that particular case, "Clean-up, preparing for page move" would have helped. Friendship smallLoleil Talk 02:22, January 14, 2013 (UTC)
Alright, I'll keep that in mind, thanks! Viktoria Landers 02:23, January 14, 2013 (UTC)
No worries. And yay for having such a great content editor! Friendship smallLoleil Talk 02:31, January 14, 2013 (UTC)

Working on the rulers listing! Edit

Hi Vikky,

Just a note to say I am working on the listing. I've spoken to everyone in Orzammar, consulted the always-handy guide for the DA tabletop game, and am looking into the codex entries now. I've also started up a new Awakening runthrough to check Kal'Hirol for any possible information from the dwarven spirits. So, I'm working steadily at it. I hope to have something posted to the wiki soon.

I hope all has been going well for you.

Best, Jen LadyAeducan (talk) 01:50, January 17, 2013 (UTC)

The Crown and Lion Edit

On page "The Crown and Lion" was link to Inkeeper, but it was a wrong person. I ereased the link. The actual character needs no page, his role is more minor than Lady Morag's one.

Also in Talk about Sorcha is a discussion about her job. I also think she's a waitress like Bella. Where did you get the idea she's a prostitute? Her welcoming words were an offer of a drink, she works in a tavern.

I suggest Characters mentioned on the page, who don't have own pages, have at leats a short description, maybe some funny dialougue lines could be added, meaning a chat between drunkies. Also notable items like a gift for Oghren. Lothering Chnatry has such list, but incomplete. (talk) 21:49, January 17, 2013 (UTC) Just call me Dalish fan.

Yeah, that's what I already do. I give a more in-depth description of characters who don't have a page on their own and possible even have a picture of theirs in the page as well. Your proposition looks good to me. As for Sorcha, I made a few amendments. Viktoria Landers 22:13, January 17, 2013 (UTC)
I just put some of my ideas, check it and edit things you find wrong. (talk) 22:27, January 17, 2013 (UTC) Just call me Dalish fan.

Ethereal golem Edit

Page about Ethereal golem is icomplete. You like dwarven lore and you're an expert. Despite having a form of a golem, it looks to be fusion of demons or spirits. How do you think, it's a sepcific golem or a mad spirit? (talk) 15:24, January 22, 2013 (UTC) Just call me Dalish fan.

I don't think it's accurate to list the ethereal golem in the golem variations as this is a spirit or demon which just copies the appearance of a golem but more than that he has no affiliation with said constructs. Viktoria Landers 15:39, January 22, 2013 (UTC)

Kings and Queens of Orzammar Edit

Hi Vikky,

Excellent news! Thank you for your hard work! I think the page will turn out great. I'll be able to devote some time to it this weekend and should have it completed soon. I'll message you when it's done--and look you up on IRC if I have any questions!

I was thinking for the image, maybe a pic of the throne of Orzammar? Or the crown as Branka or Caridin are holding it after it is forged?

I'll be certain to attend to the items you mentioned and the chronology too. I agree that the conflation of Anaalar and Endrin is probably an error and I'll be sure to mention it.

Also, there are just a couple of rulers who are not from Orzammar so I may create a separate heading for them, so as not to confuse them with Orzammar kings and queens. What do you think?

Again, thanks for all your hard work. I enjoyed this project very much--it increased my lore knowledge considerably and it was fun working with you!

Best, Jen LadyAeducan (talk) 01:21, January 24, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for your kind words Jen, your work in this project was certainly more important than my contributions :) Regarding the "ancient" kings and queens, I agree that they should be put in a different paragraph where we will explain what was happening in the ancient dwarven empire and also that the king of orzammar (after the capital of the dwarves was moved there) was the High King, a special title and all.
As for the image, yes I was thinking to use the crown. If you want you can add it yourself :) See you in the weekend! Viktoria Landers 11:45, January 24, 2013 (UTC)

Kings and Queens up--but still tweaking it Edit

Hi Vikky,

The basic page is up now (Kings and Queens of Orzammar) but I am still polishing it and making sure the chronology is correct--as correct as it is possible to get it. I should have it touched up by the end of the weekend. I'll let you know when it's ready.

In putting it together, I noticed another inconsistency: I wonder if the chronological error between Perethin and Geldinblade might be that they are the same person with two names--both are named Annalar by the information we found. Either Perethin earned a new title or honorary name or the developers forgot and gave him a new name during the development of DA2. I made a note of it. It would explain things.

I'm going to find a good crown image to use too.

It's rough yet but it's getting there... :-)

Talk to you soon!

Best, Jen LadyAeducan (talk) 02:47, January 26, 2013 (UTC)

Hey Jen, I see you did a wonderful job in the page already!
There isn't almost anything for me to review except adding some categories and visually tweaking the links in the references (removing the " _ " to be precise) and spreading the link of this page to several other dwarf related pages. Regarding the picture, please add it in the top of the page in order to be also shown when this page is featured in the "See More" feature of other articles. Might I also suggest to drain more information from the last paragraph of this codex entry?
Oh and one last thing is that there is another chronological conflict between Perethin and Endrin Aeducan. If he was assassinated in 8:50 Blessed and then Endrin ruled, that means the latter ruled for 70-80 years... That should be mentioned I think. Viktoria Landers 10:33, January 26, 2013 (UTC)

Hi Vikky,

I'm so glad you are pleased with it! It turned out well, I think. I added an image and touched up some things and added the information you mentioned. I think I have attended to everything and it is ready for you now. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do or any issues with it. I'm sorry about the references, they are a little messy, I see. Thank you for fixing them up and finalizing the page. I'm proud of the work we have done. Have a lovely weekend, Vikky!

Best, Jen LadyAeducan (talk) 23:51, January 26, 2013 (UTC)

Actually, Loleil worked in the references before I managed to get my hands in. So I just added a quote of Steward Bandelor, a category and a spoiler with the new kings. Right now I'm going through other pages and spreading the link elsewhere. By the way the image you uploaded looks great! Thanks for all your hard work, it was an honor working with you :) I'll let you know if anything new comes up, but that doesn't mean you don't need to come by from the IRC chat once in a while! Viktoria Landers 13:08, January 27, 2013 (UTC)

Untitled Edit

The conversation in the throne room is not about Nathaniel's mother, it's about his grandmother. As that part is already covered in the section about dialogue points, I am removing it from his background yet again.

Please do not re-add it, as it is incorrect and unverifiable information. There is not actually any information about how Nathaniel felt about his mother.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Kelcat (talkcontribs) 05:00, January 26 2013 UTC

I have replied to your message here as well as reverted your latest edit in Nathaniel's page. Please don't forget to sign your comments and create separate sections when you wish to talk to me for a different subject. Viktoria Landers 10:33, January 26, 2013 (UTC)
Erp, sorry about that. I've never used the talk page before and didn't realize I was commenting wrong. I replied to your reply, but again I might have done it wrong as well. I haven't used the wiki to communicate like this before, but I did write a good part of Nathaniel's original page several months ago (new username because I forgot the password of my old one). -- kelcat

A Paragon of Her Kind Edit

Hey do you know what it is that needs verification in this article? I can't seem to find it-HD3 (talk) 15:26, January 26, 2013 (UTC)

At the 19th of January another user removed the {{confirm}} from this page. See here. I am adding this page as ready in the Project Aeducan in order to move on with the next ones. Good work :) Viktoria Landers 18:25, January 26, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks! Edit

Thanks, Vikky. You and Loleil did a great job polishing the page, it looks wonderful. Good idea to add the spoiler section with Bhelen and Harrowmont, I had been thinking about it myself. The quote is great too. I realized I had forgotten Ragnan and I am glad he has been added, so it looks complete now! It was a pleasure to work with you too! I'll stop by IRC more often too. :-)

Best, Jen LadyAeducan (talk) 21:21, January 27, 2013 (UTC)

I made the addition! Edit

Hi Vikky,

I made the update you mentioned to the page, so we should have everything listed now. If anything else occurs to you, please let me know. That was a good catch too, I didn't realize he was a king until I read the codexes closely.

Have a nice evening!

Best, Jen LadyAeducan (talk) 00:33, January 31, 2013 (UTC)

I made some additions as well. I felt it is detrimental if we not include all the known information about this king as it lacks a personal page of his own. As always, if you need me for anything let me know, Jen! I'm currently waiting for the Until We Sleep to come in and I hope you'll change your mind about it in due time ;) Viktoria Landers 08:41, February 1, 2013 (UTC)

Spoilers for Tale of Orzammar Edit

I think we need to carefully maintain our spoilers. We do not have spoilers for minor content, and we have been currently batting around with the idea of removing spoilers after a certain expiration date. The idea is that spoilers help the community with their game without ruining the experience for them. However, after a certain period of time, that becomes common knowledge. For example, Snape kills Dumbledore. So I think that Tales of Orzammar may or may not fall into the latter, but it definitely has gone past its expiration date. Plus, as a prequel to Origins, which is the base game, it is a safe assumption to guess that an average user will not play Tales of Orzammar before Origins. Therefore, there is very little to spoil. -- tierrie talk contr 01:43, February 1, 2013 (UTC)

Replying in your talk page since I don't suppose you'll remember to check mine for a reply... :P Viktoria Landers 08:36, February 1, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks, Vikky Edit

Thanks for adding more to the updated material, Vikky. Good thinking. He didn't have a page to begin with so more information should definitely be added.

As for the comic, I guess the root of my discontent is a philosophical issue (if it doesn't sound silly saying so) that is separate from my misgivings about the direction of the games themselves. My philosophical issues sometimes manifest as curmudgeonly comments when the comic is discussed. :-) It's really about the lore and the way the comic deals with existing lore and--possibly--alters future lore. It would merit a long conversation in IRC to explain my reasoning fully, I'm afraid.

I'm glad you are enjoying the comic and looking forward to UWS. There are some story elements I am curious about too--the story of Bianca, for one, and whether Maric is alive and, if so, whether he will confirm Fiona as Alistair's mother, among other things. So, I have things I am interested in regarding the comic, I just have concerns about it too.

Talk to you soon!

classification of Varterral Edit

Varterral a creation of Arlathani sorcerers. It has shape of spider, but technically it's a type of golem because it's a fade spirit trapped in mud and plants. Tevinter magisters with dwarves tried to create a golem from flesh of dead casteless by putting a fade spirit inside. Do you see similarities? I would call non-humanoidal golems like Varterral a gargoyle like are called statutes of demons and animals on cathedrals, but I don't work for Bioware, it would be a fanfic, because that's not an offical classification. Surely varterral is a spirit, maybe it's even connected to sylvans, the trees possessed by spirits corrupted or not. If elves rediscovered ritual of creating varterrals they would have equivalent of dwarven golems and would defeat even Tevinter, but that's not the topic. Back to topic what should decide of a type of creature, shape or substances it's made from? (talk) 18:48, February 3, 2013 (UTC) Just call me Dlaish fan.

I see where you are getting at, however with this logic we can also claim that Anders is a golem since there is also a spirit that resides inside him. Which leads us to the question what creature can be categorized as a golem. In my opinion the answer is "the creatures that have been built by the Anvil of the Void". Since golems have a host inside them, then they are also creatures which are possessed from spirits that come from either the living world or the fade in a similar fashion with abominations, Varterrals, etc. However they have that special feature which is the Anvil that makes them in a way different from the rest. Viktoria Landers 19:01, February 3, 2013 (UTC)
No, Victoria, Anders is an abomiantion, not a golem, because he's possessed as a living mage by his spirit/demon. I also believe Harvester an abomination, no golem. Any living body or corpse with spirit from the fade corrupted or not is abomiantion. Even mage fanatic like Damian Vampire admited that demon or spirit inside a mage makes it an abomiantion. By your logic statues in the end of DA2 aren't golems because they weren't made on the anvil. So maybe Varterral is an abomination or a sylvan. In DA worlds golems need spirits to "live" and move, in my opinion golem is a creation from stone, metal, steel, dust or ground animated thanks to spirit put inside. Thaigs Edit

Hi Vikky!

Yes, I think you're right, as Kal Sharok and Orzammar were capitals of the empire. (I'll check my information to be completely sure though!) We would want to edit and update the information to reflect this if so. I'll have a bit of time toward the weekend to make some updates to the template. If you have a plan of attack or anything specific you'd like done, any particular information added, please let me know.

I hope things are going well for you! It's been busy just lately for me but well otherwise. Talk to you soon!

Very best, Jen LadyAeducan (talk) 01:34, February 7, 2013 (UTC)

Dwarven updates Edit

Hi Vikky,

I was just working on the updates you mentioned. I created the Shaperate subsection in the Dwarves page and filled it out a bit more with some information from the codex. I also beefed up the information on the Kings and Queens of Orzammar page, adding more about the role of the ruler in dwarven society.

As for the thaigs, yes, from what I can find, Orzammar and Kal Sharok are definitely the great thaigs as they were the seats of the High King in their days. The other thaigs, while powerful and influential, bowed to the authority of the two major thaigs. So yes, that sounds just right.

I'm not sure how to edit the template but I will go ahead and made this edit on the Orzammar and Kal Sharok pages to reflect that they are great thaigs.

I hope things are more calm for you soon! Let me know if anything else occurs to you. I'm always happy to help.

I look forward to seeing what you have discovered about Endrin!!!

Orzammar Update Project Edit

Hi Vikky,

Has anything been determined about the updating we were talking about earlier in the week on the content Sophia found? I'm available to help, as always. I'm sorry to have been mum for a few days too--I was very busy with work.

I hope you're having a good weekend!

Assembly Edit

Hi Vikky,

That sounds like a good idea to divide the information about the Assembly. And I'm certainly available this weekend to work on the information Sophia uncovered. I'll pop into IRC this weekend to see how it's shaping up and what you need me to work on.

And you never annoy me! :-)

Assembly added Edit

Hi Vikky,

I just worked up the The Assembly page. I need to work on the moving of references and links, but the bulk of the writing is done. Looks pretty good so far, I think! We will want to make the page redirect for "Dwarven Assembly" maybe?

I'm inclined to leave the redundant information on the Chamber of the Assembly and Dwarves pages. What do you think? It wouldn't hurt to have the information in a few places.

I hope you're having a great weekend! It was great talking with you last night in IRC.

Update on What Needs Help? Edit

Wow, Found your message, needed to get a new computer, and purge it too. If you could get me up to speed about what needs to be fixed on here (I think the last I heard of was "Project Aeducan"), I would appreciate it forever, and should probably receive a good chiding

thanks Palipride47 (talk) 18:23, February 24, 2013 (UTC)

No worries, Project Aeducan was developed enough these last two months :-) However, there are still some pages which require attention, which you can find them here: DA:Project Aeducan. There are articles which require expansion and some which require verification (and some rare which require both). When one is unticked, it means that it's not resolved yet. If you complete one article, you edit the project page and mark the row of the article you just edited as completed (adding the tick, as it is mentioned in the page).
If you have any extra questions, please let me know! Viktoria Landers 19:22, February 24, 2013 (UTC)

More on the Assembly Edit

Hi Vikky,

Thank you for cleaning up the page, it looks great! Retitling it was a good idea too--I had been going back and forth about the right title to use.

As I'd recently lost a lot of my screenshots from my past saves, mostly my Aeducan saves, I could not recall if Kal Sharok had an Assembly or not, so thanks for correcting that too. The tabletop guide that has been my greatest reference so far had no information to help me on that score. I should have checked back in the origin to be sure first though. :P

The Lady Dace thing seemed iffy to me too. I hadn't had a Bhelen-supporting save to check the in-game details on that before I wrote the page and so was relying on the strategy guide. So thanks for correcting that too. The Prima guide has errors like that occasionally, I've found.

I'll see what it might contain about the Provings however, and anything else I can dig up. It seems a crime not to have a page about the Provings itself.

The images looks great! Thanks as always for your hard work.

I can help move some of the references if you like. I had been holding off on that for now due to the enormity of the task, but I'm here to help!

Have a nice day!

Provings Edit

Hi Vikky,

I did actually find some information in my tabletop guide that, combined with the information from the Dwarves and Orzammar Proving pages, gave me enough to develop a new page. Let me know what you think, if you have a moment. And if you notice any errors in my information, let me know that too! :-) It is The Provings.

I think the Orzammar Proving page, as it is a location, should be retitled to reflect this update. That page is about the location called the Proving Grounds. I'm not sure how to change the name, however... I feel like it ought to just be called "The Proving Grounds" or somesuch.

The new page may interfere with The Proving page too since the names are so close. I'm not sure how best to address that. Do you have any ideas? I guess I can just rename my new page, if it's a problem?

Anyway, I hope you like it!

And I have played A Tale of Orzammar. I downloaded it a while back and enjoyed it a lot. It's bare-bones but a lot of fun, and gives some nice insight into Bhelen. Have you tried it? It's hard to locate now as it was a PC Gamer exclusive at the time of release.

Talk to you soon!

Quotes of emmisaries Edit

I saw you made pages about emissaries of Dalish, Warewolves, Mages and Templars, dwarves and Redcliffe. I put a section "quotes" to each of them, but I wish there were more things than their thankings for giving supplies like the Dalish emissary doesn't like to be asked about effectiveness of his people or the mage tells blight forced mages and templars to coopearte and no other thing sould do this. I ask because I have only a copy of the game in my language, not English, but you have one and surely remembers what they all said. By the way I opened new forum topic Forum:What would you seek in DA:World of Thedas?. (talk) 18:30, February 27, 2013 (UTC)Just call me Dalish fan

Oh these quotes do not contain anything of significance, really. Also, HD3 has mostly worked in these articles, I just helped him afterwards with fixing and adding some stuff (in which I didn't need to enter the game in order to acquire them). As for the forum topic, I just answered :-) Viktoria Landers 08:30, February 28, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks, Vikky! Edit

I'm sorry for the delayed reply--been busy these past few days!

I'm glad the Proving page looked good to you. Thanks for checking it out and for working on the link separations and things--you're the pro at that. :-) I'll give the Tale of Orzammar information a look too, certainly.

Have a great rest of the week and weekend! Talk to you soon!

Reply Edit

Thanks for the notice. I'll be sure to not rename anything without checking. User:Denis517 "Steal from the best, and call it research!" 23:32, February 28, 2013 (UTC)

Question Edit

this isn't really an issue, but rather a question concerning something on my profile page.

On MyTalk page there's a list of all my contributions, but beside them there's numbers in brackets with a plus or minus sign. The numbers with the plus sign are in green, and the numbers with the minus are in red. I'm just wondering are these approval and disapproval points or something like that? Just wondering what they're for.--JordanHawker (talk) 10:04, March 2, 2013 (UTC) JordanHawker

I think each additional letter that you add on an article/blog/thread is counted as +1 while if you remove a letter it is counted as -1. Other than that, I have not noticed any particular importance in this feature. I hope this helped! Viktoria Landers 10:17, March 2, 2013 (UTC)

Dwarven edits Edit

Hi Vikky,

I'm sorry for the slow reply, things have been a little hectic just lately. Yes, I'd be happy to see what I can dig up on these topics. While we await the lore book, the RPG guidebook has been an excellent source of lore for me, and set 2 focuses quite a bit on dwarves. I'll see what I can find and will be more than happy to work on these pages. It will probably be closer to the weekend before I can really set down to work on it all, but I will certainly do it. As always, thanks for thinking of me for the dwarven stuff, I enjoy it. :-)

I hope all is well for you!

Edits and things Edit

Hi Vikky,

I saw your message. I see you're not on IRC now so I'll try this weekend to catch you. I didn't realize we had violated a policy...or I had, I guess, in writing most of it. I'm so sorry about that. :-(

As for Endrin, he is mentioned in my Player's Guide as being a Paragon (named on his deathbed). I have gone in and added the reference and updated the Paragons page too. I'm sorry about that too... Honestly, I'm not sure if I wrote that or someone else added it--I'm sure I would have added the reference if I had but I probably simply forgot to do so. In any case, that's corrected now. :-)

I have been thinking about the pages you mentioned renaming and I think, yes, they should be renamed. "Paragons" is more appropriate than "Paragon" because it is plural and we are speaking of many Paragons. "Paragon" being singular rings a little strangely when I think about it. As for "House," lets change it to "Houses" for the same reason. We are speaking of a plurality in both cases, so let's use the plural form of the titles.

I do think that Ancestors and the Stone should be separate as they are venerated differently by the dwarves. Ancestors are worshipped after a fashion but the Stone is more...revered, I guess, and not worshipped in the same way. There is a difference that should be made clear. I have some information in my Player's Guide that I can use to create a new page for Ancestors.

And I am sorry to have created so much work in the redirects on The Provings page. I hadn't realized it would involve so much effort. Please let me know if I can do anything at all to help...

I will talk to you this weekend sometime, I hope! I'm sorry to have been mum so much lately. Work has been very busy just lately for me. I hope things are well for you!

Best, Jen LadyAeducan (talk) 01:28, March 9, 2013 (UTC)

House Tethras Edit

I've done what you asked with the screenshots. Beregrand's Breastplate article is all bright and shiny now and also I have completed the The Paragon's Heir quest. The archive with the screenshots can be found here.

I hope that helped. Best wishes, Viki. -Algol- (talk) 00:32, March 11, 2013 (UTC)

Making changes Edit

Hi Vikky,

I will make the changes you noted on the Provings page. I also note the point you made about the use of Dwarf Noble vs. Dwarf Noble Warden. I'll be more careful about not using the terms interchangeably.

I'll get on with editing the rest of the dwarven lore pages ASAP.

I also proposed the change in head quotes and also supported your proposal about the quote limit for the criers. Hopefully my additions will make a difference in changing the policy.

Thanks as always!

Take care, Jen LadyAeducan (talk) 00:55, March 12, 2013 (UTC)

As per your post on my talk page:

  • Titles are usually capitalized. There is nothing in the naming conventions specifically mentioning the capitalization of titles, so I did not, and still do not, feel that it was excessive capitalization.
  • "Coming Soon!" Was just what I put on the pages after I created a link to them, rather than have the links lead to nothing, or to an empty page. It was easier than going back and adding the links in, because I may forget some. Having the links gives me a guide of what I still need to do.
  • I think "(pen and paper RPG)" is aesthetically ugly. I suppose that doesn't really matter, but it's true.
  • I will remember to include the category from now on. This is my first time editing a wiki, and I only did so because when I came here and looked at the RPG stuff, it was severely lacking/incorrect. I read the guidelines, but I'm don't understand all of it. I'll go look for where and how to add categories so I can remember how in the future.

Thank you. ThatRasputin—Preceding unsigned comment added by ThatRasputin (talkcontribs)

Re: Loot locations Edit

Hi, I stopped working on the page because I finished my Nightmare DAO playthrough. I couldn't finish because I had started the project halfway through said play, and I lost track of a lot of loot spots. I doubt I'll have the time to get back into it anytime soon, and the fact that the one play kept getting put on hold (one 70 hour playthrough became a 7-month project) means I'm probably not doing another play just to get the loot spots, at least until DA3 gets a little closer. However, if others can follow my lead I can do formatting adjustments so it all matches what I've done so far. I'm glad you're enjoying the page. :) RShepard227 (talk) 23:25, March 17, 2013 (UTC)

mentioned games but no description of involvement Edit

Architect has in infobox mentioned that he appears in DA:Journeys and Morrigan is a companion in DA:Legends, yet there are no description of their involvements in those games. They surely aren't only ones. I don't have access to those games, so I don't know if these info are true or not, there are even no pictures. (talk) 07:26, March 18, 2013 (UTC)

cat of qunari lore Edit

You made categories of noble caste, warrior caste etc for dwarves. I plan to do something similar for qunari. The qunari under Arishok's command and he himself are part of Antaam, so I suggest to make category Antaam for them. Still we don't know how do qunari call mind and soul of their society. We have to few information, but I suggest to make such categories real, when we have more. Right now I'm spredding this idea. (talk) 09:15, March 18, 2013 (UTC)

Yes, that's an excellent idea. When we have enough of them, then we could divide them depending to where they belong inside their society. I had more than a hundred dwarves to work on however the known Qunari are only 9 right now which means that we should wait for now. Viktoria Landers 13:16, March 18, 2013 (UTC)

Re: Idea Edit

Hey Viki, I decided to leave a reply on your talk page rather then mine, so the wikia notifies you ASAP. Due to the reasons I talked about in my message to you on Skype, I don't frequent the chat as much as I used to: now it's only about 3 hours early at night. Still, I'm hoping to see you there and in any case I'm all yours during weekends :)

You got me really curious about your idea! :) -Algol- (talk) 17:58, March 20, 2013 (UTC)

Oh it's nothing awesome really :P but I think you will enjoy it's ending :-) As for your skype message, I have not received it yet, would you like to send it over via e-mail? Viktoria Landers 00:52, March 21, 2013 (UTC)

A weird bug Edit

Today in chat user Zophael99 reported several really weird bugs on PS3. He finished Golems of Amgarrak, imported his character to Witch Hunt and found several unassigned runes added to his inventory that never were there before. Those would be runes from Awakening, as they seem to have the same name and icon, but have very different stats:

1) Grandmaster Flame Rune adds +9 defense, +2 damage, +2 attack

2) Grandmaster Silverite Rune adds +1,5 stamina regeneration, +6 attack and +15% critical/backstab damage

3) Two Masterpiece Lightning Runes found their way into "usable items" inventory section and could even be consumed. They disappeared, but gave no effect.

4) Paragon Immunity Rune adds +1 to armor

Zophael was kind enough to send me pictures of Flame and Silverite Runes. I think this information is worth adding, but we are confused as to where should we add it? Bug section of the Runes article? Bug sections of particular runes, like Flame, Silverite, Immunity and Lightning? Witch Hunt bugs? Save file transfer bugs? All mentioned before? Please tell me what you think. -Algol- (talk) 21:35, March 20, 2013 (UTC)

I think it should be mentioned in both the Witch Hunts bug section and save file transfer bugs but not on the runes section, because I have the impression that the runes are not the ones to blame :P Also, don't forget to add the {{Platforms|PS3}} template! Viktoria Landers 00:52, March 21, 2013 (UTC)

Category of Paragons Edit

Hey. There appeared a new category - Paragons. I think this should be added to the Warden because it's a character of almost every race and has category of nobles, Dlaish and Casteless. Brosca and Aeducan as heroes of Ferelden also become Paragons. (talk) 20:01, March 23, 2013 (UTC) Just call me Dalish fan

Hey Dalish fan, long time no see! :-) Yes, I was about to do that, but you were a bit quicker than me. Viktoria Landers 20:20, March 23, 2013 (UTC)

Hello! Edit

Hi Vikky,

I got your message and dropped in to IRC but I think you're busy (probably here on the wiki!) so I'll try again to catch you. I've missed chatting with you too!

I have been thinking, with the impending release of the lore book, that there is going to be a lot of new work to be done on the wiki! I'm looking forward to it!

Talk to you soon!

Jen LadyAeducan (talk) 21:35, March 23, 2013 (UTC)

Screenshots Edit

Hey! I've uploaded one of the needed images, here it is: [1]. What do you think?

Also I wanted to discuss some details with you, which should best be done in the chat, except that it's not working for me now :( Maybe later this day?

UPDATE: Added [[2]], feel free to change the image in Spirit Hands, as well as Pocketed Searing Gloves, Polar Gauntlets and Charged Mitts that share the model with it. Also Ashen Gloves share the model with Cinderfel Gauntlets, Storm Talons and Black Hand Gauntlets. No other problems were found in the article.
UPDATE2: Added this [3]. Please check if it shares the model with other tier 7 light gloves, as I'm not sure.
UDATE3: Another one: [4]. The previous image is not used in any other articles except Reinforced Magus Cowl -Algol- (talk) 21:11, March 25, 2013 (UTC)

All done. You've done a wonderful job already :-) Viktoria Landers 11:10, March 26, 2013 (UTC)

Fereldan LelianaEdit

Hey there.

I think Leliana could be described as a Fereldan. Her mother was Fereldan, and she herself spent the last few years in Ferelden. I'd say she's Orlesian-Fereldan.

But anyway, if no-one else thinks so, no matter. :) Henio0 (talk) 06:46, March 25, 2013 (UTC)

Based on her appearance but also her speech and cultural affiliations, I'd she is Orlesian 100%. But considering that her mother is Fereldan, I'm adding back the category. Viktoria Landers 10:14, March 25, 2013 (UTC)
Cheers! ;) Henio0 (talk) 14:31, March 25, 2013 (UTC)

Update stuff Edit

Hi Vikky,

I haven't had luck catching you on IRC lately so I wanted to let you know that, to the best of my ability, the pages we discussed on dwarven lore have been updated by me. In some cases I was able to add quite a bit, in some areas less so. I am really hoping the lore book will provide a rich source of information to beef these pages up even more.

I'm sorry for being slow on all this--to check my facts I had to go through and replay some things in DAO and it took some time.

I hope you're well and not too busy with schoolwork and the like!

Best to you, Jen LadyAeducan (talk) 19:07, March 26, 2013 (UTC)

You admited you had read 1st chapter of DA:UWS on page [[5]] So could you wrote story on page of DA:UWS? I haven't read it and I have no access to anything more than preview. (talk) 23:00, March 27, 2013 (UTC) Just call me Dalish fan

Hey Dalish. I could do it, but I'd rather see other people contribute to the wiki a bit too. So right now I'm doing a general work in writing non-essential articles and adding categories and taking screenshots in order to support those who wish to write what happened in the comic ;-) Viktoria Landers 01:17, March 28, 2013 (UTC)

While we're discussing Until We Sleep, we really should probably put a spoiler tag together for it. Who makes those anyway?-HD3 (talk) 04:12, March 28, 2013 (UTC)

I suggest to use Varric from 1st cover page. (talk) 07:33, March 28, 2013 (UTC) Just call me Dalish fan
I can make a spoiler tag for it, but I need an image. I have found a nice image that we can use but it needs some.. tweaks. However my skills to image editing are nonexistant so I'll need someone else's help. Viktoria Landers 11:05, March 28, 2013 (UTC)
I am a Photoshop wizard, I can do it for you. Henio0 (talk) 12:18, March 28, 2013 (UTC)

King Calenhad and spoiler tags Edit

I already put a spoiler on qunari point of view on the Silver Knight. However story about his conflict about Chantry with his ally comes from codex about weapon form DLC class Pack. I think there should be some spoiler tags of DA2, but the text needs to be shared in right order to put some things in spoiler.

P.S. I added some involevement in DA:UWS of the new Arishok and edited descriptions of previous media. Sorry, but in my country repeating same words too often is unethical, so I changed it. I also understand that his new rank is Arishok and I rather use this instead of Sten. Once I had a teacher, who received title of professor, so I had to change calling him a doctor to professor. In Arishok's case that works same way. (talk) 11:33, March 29, 2013 (UTC)

Nice additions on Sten's page. I also didn't know that in Poland this is considered unethical, it's good to know regardless ;-)
As for King Calenhad, spoilers are about what is going to happen later on the game. Historical information about Calenhad can be hardly be called as a spoiler. Subsequently I am not really in favor of adding spoilers in the codex entry. Viktoria Landers 16:56, March 30, 2013 (UTC)
Maybe unethical is too strong word. In my country just repeating same word too often is against rules of proper speaking, because this makes speach boring and sometimes annoying. I suggested to use spoiler tags, because the acapite is based on codex from DLC pack. On Celene's page is a spoiler tag based on letters found in Return to Ostagar.

Speaking of Celene, I made an arcticle about her spy Briala. (talk) 18:13, March 30, 2013 (UTC)

LadyAeducan lives! Edit

Hi Vikky,

I got your messages! I'm so pleased you like the work on the dwarven lore. I think we did very well. I will go ahead and begin work on the Ancestors page as that would be the only thing lacking right now.

I'm sorry not to have caught up with you just lately to chat too--I've been busy, and not online quite as much these last few days. I will check in at IRC more often to speak with you in realtime, hopefully sometime this weekend! Thanks for your patience with me, as always. :-)

I like the template you created, I think it collates all the major elements of dwarven lore in a manageable way. Well done!

I hope things have been going well for you! Talk to you soon!
