I thought you should know that a new user by name of Margedumb is making pages for no apparent reason who's only content seems to be numbers. I don't pretend to know everything about Wiki's but I'm pretty sure there's no point in that.

Precedent on Conflict Pages

Hey Kelcat, I need some input. Remind me, we don't put spoiler tags on conflict pages do we? Because they're all one massive spoiler like the quest pages ? -HD3 Sig 04:22, November 5, 2014 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure that we don't, or at least we haven't in the past. --Kelcat Talk 02:09, November 7, 2014 (UTC)

The Art of Dragon Age: Inquisition images

Hey, I remember you finding the statement from Bioware that any leaks before the art book's release would count as piracy. TheShadowAngel66 has been uploading images from the art book, just thought I'd let you know. Also notified King Cousland. --Margerard 07:18, November 7, 2014 (UTC)

Angry Joe video

Someone previously made a blog post with news category, which was a blog about Angry Joe's video of Inquisition, and the category got removed eventually. Now someone did it again. Could you please, if I'm right that blog doesn't belong to the news, remove the category? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Margerard (talkcontribs)

You know those times when you expect to be a lot more available and then of course are not? Glad to see these both got taken care of. --Kelcat Talk 01:05, November 8, 2014 (UTC)

Whoops, just saw I forgot to sign that last one, was kind of in a hurry. And that's okay, I suspected you'd have a hard time being available these days, that's why I left a message on KC's page too. Hope everything's okay :) --Margerard 01:30, November 8, 2014 (UTC)
Everything's good! Currently absorbed in Sunset Overdrive during my free time Smiley. --Kelcat Talk 00:17, November 9, 2014 (UTC)

Legacy & MoTA Files

Hey, Kelcat! I've been meaning to ask you how you got the ID codes for the items in Mark of the Assassin and Legacy. I was recently using PyGFF to extract game files, but it doesn't work for the DLC. I'm guessing BioWare changed the way they code their files between the release of DA2 and its DLC? I'd really like to get the files, especially for Legacy (specifically for Malvernis's robes/gear). Any help would be appreciated! Thanks! --Death by Cheese (talk) 22:15, November 8, 2014 (UTC)

User:mostlyautumn pulled those id codes, not sure from where. He may be able to help you with what you're looking for. --Kelcat Talk 00:17, November 9, 2014 (UTC)
Ah, got it. Thanks for the help! --Death by Cheese (talk) 00:37, November 9, 2014 (UTC)

Untitled

Hello, I was asking around for a way to apologize and I was brought here. A while ago on an old account (Ascetic496) on the two week mark from release of Inquisition, I edited the DAI page to say Draconic Lodge Incubation along with a few other edits. I didn't think this would offend anyone, more bring a laugh than anything to celebrate how close we are to dragon age inquisition.

I'd just like to apologize and say sorry about the edit. I won't add anything unless it's actual information.

I made this account because I got access to a computer and was able to make an actual username with a working space bar.

Once more, I'm sorry and it won't happen again. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ascetic Swords (talkcontribs)

That's not a problem. I don't recall the incident, but I'm sure it's water under the bridge by now. I hope you have the chance to become an active editor now that you have a space bar! --Kelcat Talk 00:17, November 9, 2014 (UTC)

Character Trailers

Hey, what do you think about an article where we could assemble all the character reveal trailers for the different games? -HD3 Sig 13:45, November 9, 2014 (UTC)

I think having some articles with game videos would be helpful. We already have Videos, but it needs a lot of work, and only contains videos from Origins. --Kelcat Talk 00:27, November 10, 2014 (UTC)
Ok how about, provided they continue to release character reveal trailers for Inquisition as they did with Awakening and Origins, how about a separate gallery page where we could assemble the character reveal trailers and link them back to the companions category pages?

As for the other videos, I think the easiest option would be to merge the appropriate trailer videos etc. into the Game articles, like we have with Dragon Age: Inquisition.Thoughts?

-HD3 Sig 00:47, November 10, 2014 (UTC)

Or we could just go back to my original idea and just include a link to the character trailer in a gallery on the relevant companion article. I'm flexible about doing that on the earlier games but I think the ones for the Inquisition companions should be included given that they seem to actually show additional narrative content that isn't in the game itself (where each companion was at the exact moment the breach occured)

-HD3 Sig 01:13, November 10, 2014 (UTC)

Personally, I think having videos on the character articles is needless cluttering, and I'd vote for having a separate page for all the videos of a particular game. Our guidelines state only official trailers should be on articles, with a few exceptions, so making a change to that by adding character videos and other non-trailer type videos to any article would constitute a change to the guidelines. Which, of course, should be voted on. --Kelcat Talk 23:11, November 10, 2014 (UTC)

Dragon Age Series Bar Links

I'm just wondering will the Dragon Age games: The Last Court, Heroes Of Dragon Age (and the other facebook one who's name I can't recall) be added to that bar? Since all three are Dragon Age Games, I'm wondering this because comics books and Dec all are listed Ontario here alongside the main games (also not sure if you're the one I'm ment to ask thiamin so appointed, orgies if I'm asking the wrong admin about this) Blitzbear93 (talk) 21:32, November 9, 2014 (UTC)Blitzbear93

Hey, I hope it's okay if I answer. The structure of the top bar will definitely be redesigned, so it'll cover as much as possible, hopefully including TLC, HoDA and Dragon Age Legends (the Facebook one). Maybe even Dragon Age Journeys too. --Margerard 23:23, November 9, 2014 (UTC)
"Appointed orgies"? Tonguesmiley Margerard and User:Tierrie are the main ones working on the main page layout, and it's definitely a work in progress. --Kelcat Talk 00:29, November 10, 2014 (UTC)
XD I'm sorry thought I'd fixed up all the incorrect words I have auto correct so it changes words to other words I apparently use a lot...was ment to say appologies, so many incorrect words in that post xDBlitzbear93 (talk) 18:27, November 10, 2014 (UTC)Blitzbear93

Photoshop Help needed

Hey Kelcat do you know anyone who could use photoshop to clean up an image for me? Its the menu screen of Inquisition that shows the Templars and Mages marching to attend the peace summit. It'd be perfect for a couple of articles but I just need to get ride of the big "PRESS START TO PLAY" text in the middle of the screen. Sadly thats well beyond my own minor image editing abilities. Anywhere you could refer me to? -HD3 Sig 09:46, November 10, 2014 (UTC)

User:ACdeakial has been doing all of the 4-tier HoDA images, and I believe he does them in photoshop. Might want to try him. --Kelcat Talk 23:11, November 10, 2014 (UTC)
Tremendous, thanks Kelcat! I'll get on that.

Nobility and Royalty Titles

Ok well its been well over a week and no one other than the two of us seems to have taken an interest. Unless you really think its worth prolonging the discussion further or making a more proactive effort to get other editors involved in talking about it, I think we should go ahead and use the Orlesian model. -HD3 Sig 11:22, November 10, 2014 (UTC)

Yeah, I think that's fine. --Kelcat Talk 23:11, November 10, 2014 (UTC)
Ok I shall go ahead and update that then.

Instant Expert FAQ

Hey Kelcat, I just finished the first draft of the FAQ for the "Instant Expert Page" which is supposed to introduce new players to Dragon Age. I'd be very grateful if you could take a look at it and either make or let me know where you think I should make improvements. -HD3 Sig 10:16, November 13, 2014 (UTC)

Sure, I can look at it, can't seem to find the page, though, for some reason. Kelcat Talk 10:27, November 13, 2014 (UTC)
http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Portal:Dragon_Age_Inquisition_Instant_Expert

Yes for a portal page its rather hard to find. Maybe we should put up a news post or something. -HD3 Sig 10:31, November 13, 2014 (UTC)

It looks really good! The only thing I noticed was an inconsistency in capitalization of humans, elves, and mages, but the info itself is great. --Kelcat Talk 08:36, November 14, 2014 (UTC)

Venatori Talk Page

Hey Kelcat, I just opened a new discussion on the talk page for the venatori which I would appreciate some feedback on. Basically just trying to help establish a precedent for whether we should have individual unit pages or not. -HD3 Sig 08:19, November 14, 2014 (UTC)

Sure thing. --Kelcat Talk 08:36, November 14, 2014 (UTC)

Images of certain characters

Hey, it was brought to my attention there are images of Corypheus and Samson from the opening scene in the game, and I quickly categorized and licensed them since Леди боли usually doesn't. Only a bit later I saw that you added No license to the other pictures such as Empress Celene, Briala, and I wondered if the images would count as leaked/pirated (that's why I left alone Gaspard de Chalons for now). The reason I wonder is because people already had early access to the game, and apparently the images with Samson and Corypheus are from the opening scene. Judging by that I thought maybe those images are from the beginning too. However I don't know if that would still count as an illegal leak, capturing images from a game that already had early access to. What do you think? If the categories and licenses should be removed, let me know of feel free to do it in advance. --Margerard 17:50, November 14, 2014 (UTC)

No, I think if any images are from the opening of the game it wouldn't be considered a leak, seeing as how BioWare allowed access to the game on a wide front. As for Celene and Briala, I wasn't aware they were from the opening as I've avoided watching videos for now, and there's no indication of the source of the images; there was some confusion about whether those images were actually of the two ladies, so I added the no license tag until I could find out for sure. But if they're from the game and labeled correctly, then we can change it to a BioWare license and go from there. --Kelcat Talk 22:37, November 14, 2014 (UTC)
To be fair I have no idea if those images about Celene, Briala or Gaspard are from the beginning or not, but I do believe those are the characters in question. However simple belief doesn't matter if the uploader didn't provide source, so I suppose the No license tag could is well placed there. But someone else confirmed Samson and Corypheus by adding image description and DAI sections on their respective articles, so I suppose those two images are not the same as the others. --Margerard 23:08, November 14, 2014 (UTC)
Sorry to intrude but on a related note I just had a thought about those particular characters. What do you think about using an image of them wearing their respective noble masks in the infobox and then (provided we can get one) an image of them without it in the involve DA:I section?

-HD3 Sig 23:16, November 14, 2014 (UTC)

I think it's a neat idea, but depends if we want to be strict about showing pictures in infoboxes that show the face of the character best. I like the idea as it's fitting for the theme of Orlais, but I'm okay if it's not going to happen in the end. --Margerard 23:33, November 14, 2014 (UTC)
As far as whether or not those images are from the game, I think it's best to wait until the game comes out, as the user who uploaded the images unfortunately chooses not to add descriptions or citations when uploading (not much I can do about that as they've been told to do so in the past). As far as what images go where, I would think that images without masks should go in the infobox, and images with masks be placed elsewhere in the article, unless they never appear in the game without the masks. I think it's better to have infobox images where faces aren't obscured by helmets or other headcoverings if at all possible. --Kelcat Talk 23:34, November 14, 2014 (UTC)

Re:Archiving talk pages

Hi Kelcat, apologies for the (very) late reply! I've been rather busy recently. To answer your question, yes, I don't think that would be a bad idea at all. I'm assuming you're okay to go ahead and do that? Chantry symbol King Cousland | Talk   19:49, November 17, 2014 (UTC)

No worries on the delay, I can understand being busy! I will go ahead and archive the page then and leave a link. --Kelcat Talk 23:22, November 17, 2014 (UTC)

Promotional Game Walkthrough

Hey Kelcat, do you think it is worth creating an article with a walkthrough for the Quest for the Red Lyrium Reapers promotional game on the dragon age website which gives you the free promotional DLC weapons? -HD3 Sig 02:11, November 18, 2014 (UTC)

Not sure; I haven't played the game, and probably won't--at least for awhile. If you think it warrants one, then feel free. --Kelcat Talk 04:06, November 18, 2014 (UTC)

Source to those images?

Nothing big, just remembering our previous discussion regarding if those images about Celene and the rest is legit, it would seem so that it is. Well, it doesn't mention Briala, but it would be logical to assume she is that elf in the background. --Margerard 02:33, November 18, 2014 (UTC)

Good find. I don't know anything about Briala, but from what I know, it's doubtful that'd be anyone else. Thanks for updating the image licenses. --Kelcat Talk 04:06, November 18, 2014 (UTC)

Inquistion

INQUISITION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ARE YOU AS EXCITED AS I AM?!?!!??! I DON'T EVEN GET TO PLAY THE GAME FOR TWO MORE DAYS AND THATS IF I HAVE EVERYTHING SORTED BY THEN WHICH I WON'T BUT IM STILL SO EXCITED!!!!!!! -HD3 Sig 09:01, November 18, 2014 (UTC)

Worst confession ever, but I won't be getting Inquisition for awhile! I'm currently jobless so I can only afford to get one of the three games I want that are all coming out on the same day (GTAV won). Hopefully I'll get it sometime in December, because I definitely want to play it! --Kelcat Talk 09:11, November 18, 2014 (UTC)
What kind of example is that?!?! Having said that, I won't technically be playing it for a while either. Still need to replace the computer, the desk and play through Origins and II so all my choices are in place.

-HD3 Sig 09:13, November 18, 2014 (UTC)

I know! Worst admin ever, right? Tonguesmiley I shall be taking one for the team, though, and braving spoilers so I can help keep the wiki looking spiffy. And I just started a new Mage Origin playthrough since it's been ages since I last played. --Kelcat Talk 09:19, November 18, 2014 (UTC)
Oh well it is good to know that I can trust the wiki to your oversight while I avoid spoilers until I'm finished with Inquisition.

-HD3 Sig 09:23, November 18, 2014 (UTC)

Protect Status

Given people don't seem to be able to stop bickering, you think it would be worth protecting the Krem article? -HD3 Sig 00:45, November 19, 2014 (UTC)

Yeah, I don't think it's going to stop. It'd be best just to put an unregistered user protect on it for now (like with Maeveris) since that's where we're getting the most problems. --Kelcat Talk 01:00, November 19, 2014 (UTC)

Shameless Gloating

I got my Inquisitor's edition!!!!! I'm thinking i'll frame the map and use it as the top of a custom built nightstand. -HD3 Sig 04:39, November 20, 2014 (UTC)

Oh, nice!! The map was one of the coolest looking parts of that edition. --Kelcat Talk 05:35, November 20, 2014 (UTC)
Also I just broke 7k edits! I am also counting this as shameless gloating!

Vandalism on DA:I page

Hello Kelcat! Looks like HD3 is out (playing Inquisition, perhaps?), so I'll drop this here for you to judge.

I've noticed a vandal on the Dragon Age: Inquisition page. One user also, added a paragraph about the game not featuring a developer console and cheats. I wasn't certain about the relevance of this information, as it was written in seemingly derisive manner. Given the large amount of vandalism, I've chosen to revert everything to Your last revision. (Formal mode off) Saba0th (talk) 12:51, November 20, 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for letting us know. Looks like Loleil blocked the vandal, and I'll keep an eye on the page. --Kelcat Talk 19:52, November 20, 2014 (UTC)
Alriht, I'm staring at the Wiki Activity page all the time. If I spot anything serious, I'll be sure to let someone know. Saba0th (talk) 20:19, November 20, 2014 (UTC)
It's very much appreciated. We're definitely getting busier! --Kelcat Talk 22:37, November 20, 2014 (UTC)

Just a note, I discovered by accident it DOES include a console, enabled by default AND it has a font... I keep accidentally hitting the ` key and opening it, have to hit ` again to close it. Not sure what (if any) commands work since I'm not ready to 'cheat' yet (although, if there was a debug for Morrigan I'd jump on that in a heart beat... see my bugs thing below this here on your page) AbsolutGrndZer0 (talk) 06:01, November 22, 2014 (UTC)

Hmm, interesting. I did a quick search, and while I found a few results saying there's definitely a console, there don't seem to be many details as to what commands are available. Hopefully there are some people out there fiddling around with it! --Kelcat Talk 06:11, November 22, 2014 (UTC)

Sadly time to create a bugs page for Inquisition?

So, it seems Inquisition now deserves a bugs page... These are the ones I am aware of...

1. If you change the default voice for your Inquisitor, then later in the game when the main story quest when you encounter Hawke you are given the option to use a default or custom Hawke. If you select to customize him/her it will revert your Inquisitor to the default voice. Only way around this is to use a default Hawke. This bug has been reported on all platforms.

2. I myself imported a Human Noble Queen of Ferelden who stabbed Morrigan and the entire playthrough seemed to reflect that, however talking to Morrigan she's talking about the Hero of Ferelden being her lover. I am on the PC, and had a short discussion via Direct Message with Dragon Age Keep on Twitter, they said they are looking into it.

3. One person reported that Hawke's gender is wrong, even though the Keep says it correctly. He says he's on the PS4.

Here are references, if you need them.

Voice/Hawke bug: http://answers.ea.com/t5/Dragon-Age-Inquisition/Male-Inquisitor-voice-changes-after-meeting-Hawke/m-p/4000249#U4000249

Morrigan Bug: http://forum.bioware.com/topic/523024-morrigan-loved-a-woman-and-had-a-child-with-her-apparently/ (This is my thread, so far no response from Bioware, just jokes (though as I said, I did talk to them via Twitter)

Hawke Gender Switch: http://answers.ea.com/t5/Dragon-Age-Inquisition/PS4-Hawke-gender-swapped/m-p/4027310#M9701

Heh, I guess it's inevitable. If there are bugs we should definitely get that info onto the wiki. Would you like to create the article? --Kelcat Talk 06:11, November 22, 2014 (UTC)

Hmm maybe, though I forget how to make brand new pages which is part of why I mentioned it to you. AbsolutGrndZer0 (talk) 19:43, November 22, 2014 (UTC)

It's pretty easy if you want to give it a shot. Click on the "Contribute" dropdown box at the top of the page, and select Add a Page. You can name it Bugs (Inquisition). If you need ideas for formatting, check the other Bugs pages. If you need help or don't feel comfortable making it, let me know. --Kelcat Talk 00:25, November 23, 2014 (UTC)

Okay, I'll give it a shot, but first what the plan is for mentioning Hawke and Morrigan's return? Is that considered known, or is it a spoiler? How is that done on bug pages? AbsolutGrndZer0 (talk) 01:10, November 23, 2014 (UTC)

Looks like the other bugs pages have quite a few spoilers, so I'd say it's okay to include them. We can always re-examine it later. --Kelcat Talk 01:44, November 23, 2014 (UTC)

Note on a future Codex Entry

Hey Kelcat. I know the entry itself hasn't been written yet but when we do write up the codex entry for Plants versus Corpses (Codex:Tales #74) for DA:I which is a shout to the Plants versus Zombies game, we should include a trivia note and this image. The Plants versus Zombies designers were so pleased with the little easter egg in DA:I they made a Plants versus Zombies version of the DA:I cover as a thank you. That definitely warrants a trivia note and the image. I've uploaded it but obviously the codex hasn't been written yet so there's no where to put it and I didn't want to put my foot into the middle of the new codex templates before they're finished. Anyway, just mentioning it and including the image here and so it can be added to the codex entry when we can.

DAI PvZ Cover

-HD3 Sig 03:16, November 25, 2014 (UTC)

Aww, that's adorable. I'm still working on the templates, may have to get some help on it, but we can definitely add that in. --Kelcat Talk 03:42, November 25, 2014 (UTC)
Also, could you put the correct license on the image? I'm not quite sure what it would fall under. --Kelcat Talk 21:32, November 26, 2014 (UTC)
Done! Also congratulations on reaching ten thousand edits!

-HD3 Sig 11:52, November 28, 2014 (UTC)

Thank you! Having to categorize so many images certainly upped my numbers Tonguesmiley Kelcat Talk 22:35, November 28, 2014 (UTC)

Weird Editing Glich

Hey Kelcat, i've got this weird editing glitch I can't explain.

Codex Conditoinal Paragrpah: {}

Everytime i put in a codex conditional paragraph, i get that weird 2 next to it. It isn't present in the source code and I can't figure out why it keeps showing up. Do you have any idea how to solve this? -HD3 Sig 12:21, November 25, 2014 (UTC)

Okay, I think I see what might be your problem... it's CodexConditionalSection that you want...

Assuming your intent is to do this?

If the Warden stopped the undead and liberated Redcliffe...
The Wardens sought Arl Eamon, uncle of the late King Cailan, in the hopes of mustering troops from the Fereldan nobility...

AbsolutGrndZer0 (talk) 12:38, November 25, 2014 (UTC)

Ah well that explains it then. Now I just feel daft. Disregard everyone!

Vandalism

Also Kelcat there was a big vandalism attack. I blocked them and reverted all the damage (I think, feel free to double check) I also protected the Sera article because that was the target of most of the attack. Since you're probably going to be the first one back, I thought I should let you know. -HD3 Sig 14:07, November 25, 2014 (UTC)

Also reverted a second wave of vandalism. Again, think I got it all but not sure. Stuck protect on for the Loghain, Cole, Dorian and Trouble with Wolves articles temporarily.

-HD3 Sig 14:47, November 25, 2014 (UTC)

Eep!! Glad you were around, and that we're in different time zones. Sadly, I doubt this will be the last vandalism run, but at least it's not every day. I'm going to change the protection of the pages to registered users only, indefinitely, since the worst seems to be over and the only registered vandals were clearly troll accounts. Great work! --Kelcat Talk 17:40, November 25, 2014 (UTC)

Spoiler

Hey you think it would be worthwhile to make a spoiler tag for The Last Court? -HD3 Sig 06:47, November 26, 2014 (UTC)

Sure if you think it warrants it. --Kelcat Talk 19:52, November 26, 2014 (UTC)

Forum out of control

There's someone on this forum 1, making some incredibly offensive remarks. Such as referring to transgender individuals as "mentally ill".

-206.190.136.246 (talk) 11:28, November 26, 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for letting me know, I've dealt with the situation. --Kelcat Talk 19:51, November 26, 2014 (UTC)
I didn't call transgenders mentally ill. You are mistaken, and the anon is lying. Please do not listen to anons over wiki members. Most anons are nothing but trolls trying to cause conflicts.
As for pronouns, the request of using preferred pronouns only applies in cases between wiki members, NOT to fictional characters, and I didn't even do that much. I only asked a question about the character. So again, you are mistaken. Please retract your warning on my talk page. Believe it! (talk) 21:35, November 26, 2014 (UTC)
And I quote "Transgenderism is where a person believes to be the opposite sex...this is a mental illness." /end quote

-206.190.136.246 (talk) 23:24, November 26, 2014 (UTC)

That's NOT a quote of my post. You edited it with "..." to make it look like I was making a statement. Even your edit does not show a statement about any person or persons. However, this is crystal clear proof that you are trying to slander me in an attempt to get me blocked.
Kelcat, I did not make any statement about transgender people. I only posted what the medical community has said on the issue of transgenderism (the concept, not people). You obviously misread my post. I did not say anything about transgender people or even transgenderism. I brought up the point of what the medical professionals classify the concept as. Those are the facts.
I request that you block the anon for trying to slander me, which is a clear violation of the rules. I also again request that you retract your warning to me. Believe it! (talk) 00:14, November 27, 2014 (UTC)

I'll address this here so that both of you can see it: I truly do not feel that the unregistered user was trying to slander you, Believe it. They merely pointed out a forum to me that they were offended by, and asked me to investigate it--which I did. I feel that I intepreted your comments correctly and came to the same conclusions that the user did: that your comments were offensive and inappropriate. At no time did this person call you names or personally attack you, nor did they submit false information. I will not just hand out blocks to people who make a good faith effort to report what they believe to be inappropriate behavior, even if they are unregistered users. --Kelcat Talk 00:40, November 27, 2014 (UTC)

Well he did try to slander me, and you can see it above. He posted something claiming it was a quote from me, but he edited it to have a completely different meaning in an attempt to get me blocked. How is that not slander?
As far as insults, the anon in the forum (different from this one on the talk page according to IPs) called me homophobic. When I told him I was not homophobic he then said I was "very in-denial", and then called me homophobic again. Those are direct insults against me. That clearly violates the rules of conduct, but whatever, I can shrug off words. I can ignore insults. And whether you enforce the rules against that anon or not is up to you. However, when people take actions against me that threaten me directly or my civil rights, then I have a very big problem with that.
I did not post anything about any person or group of people, I did not even post my opinion on transgenderism as a concept. I referred to the documented position of licensed medical practitioners in order to prove a point related to the topic of the thread, and I will not be harassed with baseless accusations and threats.
So I politely ask you one last time to please retract the warning on my talk page. Believe it! (talk) 02:00, November 27, 2014 (UTC)
I stand by my comments and will not retract anything. I did not see the unregistered user call you names, but now that you've pointed it out, I will definitely address it, as that's not acceptable either. --Kelcat Talk 02:09, November 27, 2014 (UTC)
Just to clarify, I am not the same anon who called them homophobic.

Also it is called an elipses. Its very commonly used in quotations for the sake of brevity. I didn't feel it was necessary to include the "According to medical science" since there was nothing actually included to suggest you had any basis for that. Also its probably worth pointing out that the DSM does not consider transgenderism a pathological mental disorder, so it is still inaccurate.

Vandalism 2

I've spotted some vandals (190.200.148.106 and 84.134.170.74), and reverted their edits.

Although, there's something I'm unsure about. Are we supposed to report every single case of vandalism or only the most serious/persistent ones? Saba0th (talk) 17:09, November 27, 2014 (UTC)

If it's something really minor like adding a stupid word or two, you don't necessarily need to, though I usually slap a short block on all of them just in case. It's certainly better to be safe than sorry, and it's easy enough for an admin to investigate them. --Kelcat Talk 19:47, November 27, 2014 (UTC)

Could you take a look at this? Saba0th (talk) 18:16, November 30, 2014 (UTC)

Yet another one: 190.185.103.17. This one too: 180.191.64.208 (that forum thread was over 3 tears old, but still). And, as a side note, I noticed that our wiki is going up in ranks on the Wikia Activity Monitor. I hope we can hit the top for the first time. --Saba0th (talk) 14:13, December 3, 2014 (UTC)

References for story necessary?

I noticed that in a recent edit to Dagna(which he seems to think is minor but was pretty extensive) Sapphirewind gave some really good extended story information, but he thought it was necessary to link to a YouTube video that shows it in the game. Is this level of referencing necessary as a new policy, or is he just being overly thorough? AbsolutGrndZer0 (talk) 10:25, December 2, 2014 (UTC)

No, I think that once the game is out, there's no need to provide a reference for info that can be readily found in the game. Kelcat Talk 10:46, December 2, 2014 (UTC)

Icon Images

Hey Kelcat, do you know how one creates an icon image to use on conflict pages and tables and iconmini links etc. I just realized we need an icon image version of the Inquisition crest, the Red Templars and the Venatori.

I insist you join the chat. I don't feel like emailing you and what I have to say is not for public display. JuliaIsSad2 (talk) 00:59, December 8, 2014 (UTC)

Sorry, it doesn't work like that. --Kelcat Talk 01:03, December 8, 2014 (UTC)

I don't take kindly to harrassment, and seeing as how your history on this wiki has so far consisted of harrassing me, harrassing another user, and edit warring, I'm not inclined to have an unrecorded conversation. I'll ask you once to change your behavior, after that you will be blocked. --Kelcat Talk 01:08, December 8, 2014 (UTC)

Dragon Age CCA

Hi Kelcat,

I was hoping to ask a favor from you in regards to the Community Choice Awards that we will be doing for Dragon Age Inquisition. We are looking for 6 categories for community members to vote on. Since I have yet to play the game, I was hoping you would be able to suggest some categories that would be appropriate/relevant.

For an example/clarification, click here.

Thanks for any advice and help,

Sure! I haven't finished the game yet, but I can provide a few ideas.
 • Best companions

 • Best/Most beautiful world environment
 • Best story
 • Best lore/history
Hope that helps! --Kelcat Talk 00:37, December 9, 2014 (UTC)

Corypheus Article

Hey someone's apparently been leaving unmarked spoilers all over the Corypheus article and has also DRAMATICALLY gone over the quote limit while ignoring all guidelines about quote notability and redundancy. Could you possibly give it a fix up and a trim? I would do it myself but now im terrified of spoiling inquisition for myself if I look at it. -HD3 Sig 01:10, December 9, 2014 (UTC)

DAI date

The DAI codex entry, Codex entry: Divine Justinia V (Inquisition), where 9:40 Dragon is said to be the date of the conclave may be a typo (in the game, not the wikia). Codex entry: The Conclave is a letter written by Justinia V seemingly prior to the conclave, but is dated 9:41. It may be possible the conclave was called in 9:40 but not actually held until 9:41 (allows for travel time during a war?). Dragon Age: Last Flight also apparently takes place in 9:41 and its summary says the Mage-Templar War is ongoing at the time. I think there may be other DAI codex entries that use 9:41, but I may be mistaken.184.57.236.69 (talk) 20:34, December 12, 2014 (UTC)

There's also a War Table mission called Judgment: Duchess in a Box Tour 9:41 that you get after Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts. Of tangential interest is another War Table mission, The Arl of Redcliffe, available after In Your Heart Shall Burn. Can't remember the exact text, but the result says that the Inquisition can take all they want from a mine until the holiday of Wintersend. Taken together, the events of DAI may span the initial months of 9:41.184.57.236.69 (talk) 21:46, December 12, 2014 (UTC)

I suppose it would be too much to ask for BioWare to create anything Dragon Age without at least one date error Icon wink. I looked at the Conclave codex entry and you're right. Looks like a lot of other codex entries have the date 9:41, as well. I'll make a note on Justinia's codex entry about the discrepency. --Kelcat Talk 21:54, December 12, 2014 (UTC)

Conflict spoilers

Sorry to bother you a second time. To what degree are articles about conflicts exempt from rules about displaying spoilers? The conflict articles I read, such as Mage-Templar War and Fifth Blight, lack any spoiler tags whatsoever. When I made the article war against Corypheus, I followed their example. Today however, some users have brought up on the talk page that having "Corypheus" in the article title is a spoiler. While this may be true, if the content of an article about a conflict is exempt from needing to protect users from spoilers, isn't the title of that article also exempt? Or did I presume too much when I came up with that title?184.57.236.69 (talk) 20:22, December 24, 2014 (UTC)

The conflict articles themselves have traditionally been exempt from using spoiler tags, however I don't believe we have a concrete policy regarding whether that extends to article titles. I'll take a look at the discussion when I can and see if I can add any input. --Kelcat Talk 23:36, December 24, 2014 (UTC)

Multiplayer Articles

Hey Kelcat, I can now confirm that the Multiplayer characters do have unique dialogue and banter both for themselves and with eachother. They also seem to have unique armour sets, to whit. Do you think it's worth creating Dialogue pages for them like we have for the single player companions? -HD3 Sig 04:28, December 30, 2014 (UTC)

Oh, I think that'd be a good idea! I've been contemplating getting one together for the Inquisitor, too, like we have for Hawke, but it would probably be a big undertaking. --Kelcat Talk 04:47, December 30, 2014 (UTC)

Referencing?

Someone else noticed that the http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Staff_of_the_Dragon page said it was available to those who pre-ordered, but he did not pre-order so I corrected the page to match the other page, however while I felt leaving the reference in was best... I'm not sure how to do it properly... so I kind of screwed up the bottom of the page. Could you check it out and also let me know what I need to do to make references work? Codex entry: The Lost City of Barindur

Is this actually in Inquisition? Because my source was one of the tabletop books.

-HD3 Sig 07:14, January 3, 2015 (UTC)

Yeah, it's 103 in the Tales section. I forgot to update the article when I renamed it, though. Seems they're recycling codexes from old sources; a lot of them were in World of Thedas, too. --Kelcat Talk 07:25, January 3, 2015 (UTC)
Makes sense, you've got to retain some of the information for new users. Thanks Kelcat! Also, have you found a codex entry for Nevarra & Orlais and Queen Asha of Antiva?

-HD3 Sig 10:09, January 3, 2015 (UTC)

I'll have to look and see. --Kelcat Talk 17:32, January 3, 2015 (UTC)
I don't have the codex entry, but someone did dump the raw data of the game here. Do a search of "Queen Asha of Antiva". It refers to her as a "minor princess of Rivain" and that her statue has "Rivaini royal garb". So... that seems like good evidence that Ayesleigh is in Antiva, yes? I'll have to keep an eye out and see if I can find the codex in this playthrough. --Kelcat Talk 05:51, January 5, 2015 (UTC)
Asha was Queen of Antiva but she is originally from Rivain. That's why. I think Ayesleigh is in Rivain.

Unnamed topic

Hi there, you recently undid a revision of mine to a link to rpg-gaming.com/daisc.html

Whilst you are correct there technically *is* information on the wiki relating to dai: skills a) it's not all consolidated and in one page b) none of it is linked on the main dai page, c) nor is it easily accessible without navigating through dozens of other entries and d) the page offers more than just the ability to view existing skills, it is a fully blown skill calculator / build planning tool for the game which is a feature that is not offered anywhere else. As such I fail to see how it is not a relevant external link.

Regards,

Koth76 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Koth76 (talkcontribs)

Hey! All of the info in that link can be found on Abilities (Inquisition), with links to the more detailed pages, which actually better covers the info than that site. I'm currently restructuring the main Inquisition article to make it easier to find this info. As far as the site being a planning caculator, well, it's not even remotely user-friendly; it provides no instructions on how to use it, or really what its purpose is. As such, I fail to see how it's a helpful enough tool as to warrant a need for a link to it. --Kelcat Talk 04:37, January 5, 2015 (UTC)
That Abilities (Inquisition) is great for sure! However you have to drill down into each individual page to see the details which is both time consuming, tedious and unncessary. I understand you're the moderator so for sure you have the final word, but it seems a little overbearing to say the site has no value at all. Yes it lacks full instructions, but anyone that has played the game can work out click on a skill to allocate a point, etc, click on the export button to export the build. Anyway, your call.--Koth76 (talk) 04:43, January 5, 2015 (UTC)
Nah, I'm just an admin, I don't get final word on anything Icon wink. I've added the link in the "External links" section at the bottom of the article so that it's available, but isn't the focus of the Skills section of the main article. I did try playing around with the calculator and couldn't figure it out myself, but perhaps those more knowledgable than me will get some use from it. --Kelcat Talk 04:53, January 5, 2015 (UTC)
Ahh, all good. Actually that's a better place for the link anyway and where I should have put it in the first place. Thanks for that :) Koth76 (talk) 05:03, January 5, 2015 (UTC)

Offensive post

Hey, sorry to bother you, but User:Believe it! posted a forum that's being seen as rather offensive by quite a few people (with good reason in my opinion). I'd point out the the offensive parts, but I have a feeling they're not too difficult to spot. A large amount of the content on the post seems to be based around sexism, in addition to a blatant disregard for other's opinions. There are several parts of the forum that describe women as being weak and inferior. Anywho, the forum's here if you'd be willing to take a look. --CrackFoxJunior 23:22, January 11, 2015 (UTC)

size of codex images

Hey again :) I was trying out the size of 270x360 pixels for my recent codex editing and I'm wondering what do you think about this size instead of just giving one-dimensional 270px? It's not a big deal, but the 270 ones are imo rather huge. I mean, these pics are not *that* interesting to look at. It was recommended by User:Mostlyautumn, and although primarily for quests, perhaps it could work for codexes as well? Kewpies (talk) 09:37, January 16, 2015 (UTC)

That sounds good. I'm not the best judge of what image sizes look good, so if you think that size looks best, go for it Smiley --Kelcat Talk 21:55, January 16, 2015 (UTC)

Krem and Qunlat

Hello, I recently made an account because I wanted to make an edit to Krem's wiki page. After a little sleuthing, it seems to me you are the person to contact about such an edit. I hope I am not accidentally breaking wiki etiquette.

I would appreciate if the line "Krem is described by Iron Bull as fitting the Qunari concept of "Aqun-Athlok", which effectively means "born as one gender but living like another."" was removed from the beginning of Krem's wiki entry. The term itself is transphobic as it implies that trans people aren't REALLY the gender they say they are and are pretenders and liars. As a trans person this term is very hurtful to me and it is especially disturbing to see it right at the beginning of a trans man's wiki entry.

If the term/sentence cannot be completely removed from his page I ask that it at least be moved to the trivia section. As Krem is not Qunari and a Qunari slur for trans people is not part of his background. If this is acceptable I also ask that you change the line to something like: "Krem is referred to by Iron Bull as "Aqun-Athlok," a Qunari term, which effectively means "born as one gender but living as another." However, this is disrespectful and incorrect as Krem is a man living as a man."

Thank you and best regards. --Drusus21 (talk) 07:06, January 24, 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for bringing this up, and welcome to the wiki! I can definitely understand that transphobic comments can be hurtful, and it's certainly something we want to avoid. We've discussed this a few times, and what it boils down to is the translation of the term in Qunlat. In fact, that's why I had originally put "translates as", not sure why it got changed to "effectively means". We try to keep things on the wiki neutral as well, so while I can see why you'd want to put something about the term being disrespectful, it's not really our place to add commentary such as that. I hesitate to comment about whether or not the phrase is in fact a slur, as I don't believe that's how it was intended by BioWare. I know the writer did say that he shared the stuff he wrote with others beforehand to make sure he wasn't being offensive. Regardless, I'm not transgender, so it certainly isn't fair for me to say that it's not offensive.
I'm not opposed to moving that info out of the beginning of his background section; the characters in the game don't make a big deal out of his gender, so there's no real reason for us to do so either (which is why I locked the page to begin with). Moving it to the trivia sounds fine to me, but I do still think we need to define what it means, and state that this is the Qunari translation of the phrase. From past discussions, this has seemed to be the best compromise to present information that's in the game in as straightforward and unbiased a manner as possible. It doesn't feel right to leave it out completely, but it doesn't need to be prominent. I will move it to the trivia and try to word it a bit better. I hope this helps. --Kelcat Talk 07:26, January 24, 2015 (UTC)

Abusive chatmod and wrongful ban from the chat

Hello. I'm new on this wiki and decided to join the chat and talk to the users here, not knowing what to expect. My expectations were not too high, but I certainly didn't expect this kind of treatment.

Firstly, I would like to point out that these are screenshots from the Main Chat, taken just moments after being banned for no reason by the chatmod Margerard (who I think is one of the worst mods I've seen on wikia). Like I said, I got into chat and the first comment I made was immediately met with hostility by two users, Jaeha and EzzyD.

Rude1
Rude2

After this initial wave of hostility and outright rudeness by these two, the mod Margerard chose to intervene and went on to support the rudeness by exclusively warning me, after a long back and of forth of nothing but pure bias. Mods are supposed to be impartial, but it's obvious in this case that Margerard is not very competent as a chatmod and immediately showed bias towards the regular users, probably due to friendly relations with them. They even went on to sarcastically tell me I should "take some time off" before banning me for 3 days, because of being treated with hostility, as if it was somehow me who was the problem. Pretty pathetic display for a mod, I have to say.

Rude3
Rude4

Taking all this into account, I'd like to ask two questions and make two requests. First off, why is Margerard a moderator when it's obvious that this person is terrible at being impartial and having a good judgement/assuming good faith/being welcoming to new users. Secondly, why are the users in chat so rude? I reckon it's probably due to them knowing they will have Margerard's support no matter what they do, so it's pretty clear to me that they're not worried about any repercussions. My request is for the ban that was placed on me to be lifted, as I have proven that it was definitely not deserved at all. I would ask for Margerard's demotion as well. Thanks. TRedfield (talk) 21:57, February 7, 2015 (UTC)

Okay, the admins will look into this when we get a chance. --Kelcat Talk 23:52, February 7, 2015 (UTC)

Thank you! The sooner the better. Now what about that ludicrous chatban? TRedfield (talk) 00:12, February 8, 2015 (UTC)

It stays until I have a chance to look everything over. That's just standard practice. --Kelcat Talk 00:22, February 8, 2015 (UTC)

Fair enough then. But let it be clear that I am requesting the demotion of this person from the status of Chat Moderator once you've reviewed all of the things you need to review. TRedfield (talk) 00:28, February 8, 2015 (UTC)

This is going to be long, because I want to make sure I cover everything here.

Margerard was able to provide me with a complete chat log, covering the time you entered the chat to the time you were booted. You’ve asked for two things: to have your block lifted, and to demote Margerard as a chat mod.

Your block. After reading the entire log I have come to the conclusion that you did indeed violate our Code of Conduct, and that Margerard was justified in giving you a short block. Here’s our Code of Conduct so that you can look it over. I can see several different things that you clearly violated, most of them under the parts about incivility.

Let’s break down the parts under “Identifying incivility”: (a) Rudeness, insults, name-calling, gross profanity or indecent suggestions You quite clearly called Jaeha “stupid or 7” which is most certainly name-calling. It doesn’t matter if a user was rude to you first, incivility is not acceptable in any circumstances. The “he started it” excuse doesn’t cut it.

(c) Ill-considered accusations of impropriety You took a single comment, “keep dreaming”, and blew it completely out of proportion. Rather than giving the user the benefit of the doubt that their comment was possibly ill-considered or unintentionally rude, you immediately launched into an attack of your own.

(d) Belittling a fellow editor, including the use of judgmental edit summaries or talk-page posts This applies to how you treated Margerard in the conversation, specifically when you asked her “I’m sorry, is this your first day on the job, Margerard?” And of course your comments above where you call her "incompetent" and "pathetic".

(d) Quoting another editor out of context to give the impression they hold views they do not hold, or to malign them. It is of great concern to me that you included only 4 screenshots of a lengthy conversation, rather than recording it in its entirety. You left out all of the instances when you were rude, and kept only the parts that you felt made you look good and the others look bad. You left out the parts where Margerard repeatedly asked you to drop the issue and move on. You left out the part where Margerard commented to Ezzy that his comments were not helping the situation. You left out the part where you were warned that you would be blocked if you continued your behaviour. Whether it was intentional or not, this does not make you look good. So I support Margerard’s ban completely, especially since it's a very short ban.

Now, to address your request to have Margerard demoted from the position of chat moderator.

It is not within my power--nor the power of any other administrator on this wikia--to unilaterally demote someone from an administrative or moderator position. We simply do not have that type of authority. If you believe that Margerard deserves to be demoted, you need to make a proper proposal to be voted on in order to come to a community consensus. That means making a topic in the forum with your proposal, describing your position and providing details. Then it would be open to a vote by the community, and after 7 days the proposal would be closed, and a decision made based on the votes. --Kelcat Talk 01:41, February 8, 2015 (UTC)

Here are just some obvious observations as pertains to the first part of your response, about the lifting of the block and whether it should have been issued in the first place or not:

 • That I got into chat, made one single comment and was instantly bombarded with negative responses and inhospitable behavior by two users does not in any way make me feel bad for the comment I made towards Jaeha. If you read the logs as you say you did, you know that Jaeha's behavior was provocative to say the least and downright rude. Being a new user, I had not taken a look at the code of conduct for this wiki yet, so I didn't imagine "stupid" was such a severe word that could lead to a 3 day ban. I have to say, this is the first and only wiki I know that has such strict rules on words in the chat. Taking into account the context, I also don't think it's fair to tell me that the "he started it" excuse won't fly when the real question that needs to be raised (and answered) here is why Jaeha felt the need to be rude in the first place. Honestly, if he hadn't come off as a rude and hostile user I would not have had to respond in such a way. Again, why am "I" being punished when I wasn't even the one who started the argument in the first place? Most mods I know would have either warned the instigator on the spot or banned them if the argument kept going (as it did) but instead you support the banning of the "victim"/recipient of the rudeness here. I don't know what's up with that, care to explain your train of thought?
 • "You took a single comment, “keep dreaming”, and blew it completely out of proportion. Rather than giving the user the benefit of the doubt that their comment was possibly ill-considered or unintentionally rude, you immediately launched into an attack of your own". Honestly, I had to read this twice to make sure I'm reading correctly. Are you actually implying that I should have looked the other way and sucked it up when another user was being rude to me in chat? I'm sorry, but this is just outright ridiculous of you to suggest. The chat is supposed to be a place where users can talk to each other, always assuming good faith and being nice (the "be nice" rule being one of the fundamental wikia ToU policies), so they can get a decent conversation going. Pardon me if I'm mistaken, but Jaeha and EzzyD's behavior was all but that. They were both rude, unnecessarily hostile towards a new user and just downright unwelcoming, all because of what? An opinion they did not agree with, I assume. And if I'm also not mistaken, the role of a chat moderator is to make sure that things in chat run smoothly, by ensuring that all parties maintain the good faith and nicety towards each other, so civilized conversations can be produced. I agree that my comment was not nice either, but what is the point of being nice to someone who's clearly disrespecting you and disregarding your opinion so rudely? Once again, don't get why those two are let of the hook while I get the punishment. Makes no sense at all.
 • "This applies to how you treated Margerard in the conversation, specifically when you asked her “I’m sorry, is this your first day on the job, Margerard?” And of course your comments above where you call her "incompetent" and "pathetic"." This is clearly a misconception on your part, whether purposely misinterpreted or not. My comment is a legitimate question to a moderator who I deemed to be completely incompetent (I have every right to evaluate moderators based on their decisions). You trying to make this out to be "belittling" is purely your own assuming bad faith about me, which is not cool, as you as an admin are supposed to assume good faith at all times. This is not the first time you assumed bad faith about me while reviewing this, so that's also something I dislike about this review of yours.
 • "Quoting another editor out of context to give the impression they hold views they do not hold, or to malign them. So I support Margerard’s ban completely, especially since it's a very short ban." I don't know why you keep assuming such bad faith about me. I explained that I only took a few screenshots that show the clear hostility and bad judgement. I was banned a minute or two after getting the screenshots (for no specific reason other than I should take some time(?)), so really, that's all I could get within the time limit. Since you're able to check the chat logs at any time and uncover everything at your own leisure, I didn't think it would be a big deal. Apparently you planned on using every little thing against me in your bad faith review of my ban. Nice.

I'm not sure whether I want to start a counter-argument to why it is a horrible idea to hold a public demotion thread for Margerard's demotion request, if it's not obvious enough why that's a terrible idea, I'll just mention the fact that Margerard has been here for a very long time and is bound to be besties with most of the people here by now. At least that's the vibe I got after this little incident today. Clearly you want Margerard to stay a chatmod, either because you don't care if she abuses her rights or because it suits your little agenda (whatever that may be). Regardless of that, I'd like a response to my counterpoints above. TRedfield (talk) 02:12, February 8, 2015 (UTC)

I honestly didn't see Jaeha's initial comment to you to be rude at all. Again, all they said was "keep dreaming". Perhaps a bit brisque, but not really rude. And you jumped into full counter-attack mode because of it. I don't see three people being hostile towards you, I see one person making a comment that you took offense to and you then launching into an attack towards several other users. You don't have to turn the other cheek if someone insults you, real or perceived. You can, however, express your dissatisfaction without being rude as well. People aren't required to be nice to you, even in chat. They're just required to be civil. Margerard and Isolationistmagi are the two active mods on the chat, if you feel that Ezzy or Jaeha should be blocked for this issue, take that up with them.

I didn't assume bad faith against you. I read the entire conversation and made a decision. I am very welcoming of new users, though I understand you may not realize that since this is your first venture here. Regardless, I didn't go into the situation believing you were in the wrong, but red flags were immediately raised when it was obvious your screenshots were not consecutive. You say you only had a short time to take them, and that may be true, but you sure didn't volunteer any of the missing info to me when you first brought this up.

Regardless of whether or not you believe a consensus is the best course of action to demote someone, I'll reiterate that I cannot and will not demote someone of my own volition. As far as I know, Margerard isn't best buddies with every single user of the wiki. She's popular on the chat, but there's no conspiracy going on here. I would take offense at being accused of having an agenda, but since my only agenda is to contribute positively to this wiki and keep it at the very high standards it has achieved over the years, I am proud of that agenda. This is a wiki first and foremost, not a chat site. The chat moderator made a decision based on what happened within the chat, and I have found no reason to overrule it. Again, it was a 3-day ban that you are blowing out of proportion. As far as I'm concerned, this issue has been taken care of and is over. Perhaps the other admins will respond to you differently, but this is my final say on the matter. --Kelcat Talk 02:50, February 8, 2015 (UTC)

You know what, you're right, Kelcat. It's all pointless. You will never see things in a different light, so whatever. Thanks for your time, administrator. TRedfield (talk) 02:56, February 8, 2015 (UTC)

Codex Renaming

The proposals to rename are because they should not be disambiguated by using (Dragon Age II) when they also appear in other games, in this case Inquisition. Golden Silence (talk) 18:00, February 9, 2015 (UTC)

The proposals were difficult to understand; you made proposals to rename them to things that aren't codex entries, such as "Qunari". A rename for these should start with "Codex entry:" and then whatever name you think it should be renamed to. It looks like you went back and corrected that, which is good, but every proposal you have made is to change them to a name that already exists, and has completely different codex text. We can't do that. Every article has to have a unique name.
I will also point out that I did not "wrongly remove" the nominations. They were all made over 2 weeks ago, with no commentary from anyone, which would mark them as failed proposals. --Kelcat Talk 21:30, February 9, 2015 (UTC)
They need renamed, and as with most things like this as they appear more often and in newer games they usually take priority. There have been rename, split, and merge tags sitting on pages from before I even started editing here, so don't give excuses like that, you just didn't look for a reason why the rename was proposed and removed them without explaining why, in direct contrast to me putting the reasoning in the summary which you would have seen in the history of the page had you bothered to look. You're even agreeing that they could be renamed, even if you disagree on what name to use. Golden Silence (talk) 01:07, February 10, 2015 (UTC)
I did "bother to look", thank you. I also put my reasons for removal in the edit summaries, which I'm sure you of course also looked at. You made no attempt whatsoever to explain yourself when you made the renames, did not start discussions on the talk page, and your proposals were unclear. In contrast, I did open discussions on the talk pages, which you never replied to. You suggested a rename to Deepstalker, which again, already exists and is not a codex entry.
Please list for me which proposals have been sitting there longer than yours, as I go to great efforts to keep them up to date. I think they could be renamed, but again, you put names in your proposal that were not accurate and hard to understand. --Kelcat Talk 01:24, February 10, 2015 (UTC)
I apologise if I came over as aggressive, you have been here longer than me and will be long after. This should partly explain the 'incorrect' proposals, I have no idea what you do in such circumstances (would you make a separate page for DAI, would you follow the usual standard of usurping the DAO/original entry, would you rename it to some sort of ambiguous name?), I made the proposals on the grounds that they need renamed, and left it there. I mean this as no insult, but applying a little intelligence to the proposals would have seen that they were simply wrongly filled in rather than completely wrong, it seemed so obvious I didn't feel the need to spell it out.
Two of the three summaries you left did have reasons for your removal (the lyrium one did not), but the reasons didn't address my reasoning for proposing, only the suggested place to move them to, which suggests a lack of insight one would expect from an admin (and I know you are able or expected to read my mind to know the exact reasoning). As a means of constructive criticism, what I see from you is the thinking of 'why move it there?' rather than the expected and better applied question of 'why does it need moved?'. Please correct me if I am wrong. Also I am used to the stance that a talk page entry is started only if someone disagrees or desires further input before making a decision.
Ignoring the more complicated looking proposals (and including some from before my earliest proposal but after I started editing), Judgement from Jan 6th, Fereldan Culture from Jan 25th, and codex entry Bronto from Jan 22nd. Golden Silence (talk) 19:43, February 10, 2015 (UTC)
While I do try hard to go out of my way to help people with their edits, I hope you understand that this wiki is growing at an extremely fast rate right now. I asked for clarification about your proposal and never got it, which made me assume you weren't really that invested in the issue. Therefore I decided to remove the proposals at the same time as I was doing a block edit of ~300 other articles for clarity, missing licenses, proposals that still needed action, etc, etc. I have lots of time on my hands right now, but there's also a lot of work needing to be done on the wiki. It would have been just as easy for you to take the extra time to make your proposals clear and concise. I'm not overly invested in the specific issue and don't really have an opinion about how they should be named--and I saw someone else did join in the discussion so hopefully you'll get resolution--but I did want to point out that you were making proposals that weren't possible in their current state. It is less a matter of my not having intelligence as it is a matter of my not having the time or ability to analyze each and every edit made on the wiki. As an admin one of my jobs is to do cleanup, which consists of monitoring proposals to see what's still open and what needs to be closed. As a proposor, it's your job to make sure you're concise and understandable with your proposals--otherwise they'll get ignored by the community (as they were) and you'll never get a resolution. --Kelcat Talk 22:17, February 10, 2015 (UTC)

What about my suggestion on http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Talk:Codex_entry:_The_Qunari_%28Dragon_Age_II%29 ? It seems like it would be a solution, not only for this entry but other similar cases. Ignoring the somewhat aggressive behavior here, and the unclear proposals, I do think Golden Silence has a point. Kelcat, if the renaming etc can be done by a regular user, maybe somebody else can do it and you don't have to spend time on it?

P.S. Golden Silence, from what I understand there do not seem to be many other active admins right now and the Wiki has an increased activity due to DAI release. I'm sure you as an intelligent person can see what this implies. So let's give Kelcat a little break and not insult her. <-Kewpies (talk) 00:15, February 11, 2015 (UTC)

The renaming should be totally possible for any users. Only issue that may occur is if you try to rename something to an existing article, you may get a notice that an admin has to delete it first. If so, you can contact User:Loleil or User:HD3 and they can fix it. --Kelcat Talk 00:18, February 11, 2015 (UTC)

Insults in chat/Margerard does nothing about it; except ban...me...again

Whadda ya know? Came back to the same old rudeness. Don't even know what I did. Here are consecutive screenshots (so don't say I'm leaving time gaps) for you. You can also check the logs, I'm sure Margerard has saved them as promised. EDIT: So Margerard has banned me yet again, when I have done nothing wrong but take screenshots of main chat because I was called a "cunt" and a "daft bastard" by a user there, whom Margerard is clearly trying to cover for. This is so pitiful, honestly. How in the world is this person a chat mod????

I am eager to see how you'll assess this one, Kelcat. Having been banned over nothing like this, it would be hilarious if you actually say that this ban was well-deserved. TRedfield (talk) 22:00, February 10, 2015 (UTC)

I see someone calling you a bad name, the chat moderator warning them, and the person discontinuing their behavior. What else am I supposed to see? Seeing as your first comment when returning to the chat was a demand for someone to watch their language before finding out the policies against it, shows me that you're being purposely antagonistic. --Kelcat Talk 22:08, February 10, 2015 (UTC)

Oh yeah, because asking a mod if using crude language is allowed is clearly being purposely antagonistic. And of course, being called a "cunt" and a "daft bastard" by someone for no reason and Margerard trying to dismiss it as a joke (so funny) when just a second ago she said crude language is only allowed when not used to hurt someone, that's all on me, right? It makes total sense that I end banned for 2 weeks for doing nothing when someone who obviously attacked me gets away with a dismisal. Kelcat, I will ask for that user to be banned from chat for 2 weeks, my ban to be immediately lifted and for Margerard to finally be demoted as is appropriate, considering her incompetence. Please, do adhere to these requests. It only makes sense. TRedfield (talk) 22:15, February 10, 2015 (UTC)

Seems to me like you don't even care, Kelcat. How depressing. I expected better of you. Are you going to do something or not? TRedfield (talk) 22:25, February 10, 2015 (UTC)

Oooh, you gave Kelcat Ten Whole Minutes! How dare he/she not respond in such a long, long period of time. Why, that's almost three days! Seshet (talk) 22:31, February 10, 2015 (UTC)

Thank you for giving me a grand total of 10 minutes to respond to your reply, TRedfield :) Anyway, as I have said before, I cannot demote Margerard or any other moderator, you have to make an official proposal. The moderator addressed the issue and warned the person doing wrong, after which they stopped. This is the correct procedure. If the other person continued after that, then I can see the need for a block, but I'll have to ask Margerard about that first. We rarely give out immediate blocks to registered users, we try to give them the benefit of the doubt by warning them first. Which is exactly what happened. I'm not sure your reasoning behind wanting the demotion of a trusted moderator with whom you have had a grand total of 2 brief conversations, but it's just not going to happen. --Kelcat Talk 22:34, February 10, 2015 (UTC)

Last chance to be smart, Kelcat. Lift my chatban and do the right thing about Margerard. I know you can do it. TRedfield (talk) 22:36, February 10, 2015 (UTC)

You're overthinking it. You already know what the smart thing to do here is. Do it for your wiki. TRedfield (talk) 22:46, February 10, 2015 (UTC)

Okay, at this point you're veering into harrassment. Consider this a warning that if you continue hounding me about this and demanding Margerard's demotion, you will be blocked not only from chat but from the wiki. --Kelcat Talk 22:47, February 10, 2015 (UTC)

Really? You took all that time for this? I'm extremely disappointed in you, Kelcat. I thought you were a smart girl. Too bad. Oh well, guess I'm off. Have a good day, Administrator. Something tells me you'll be busy from now on. TRedfield (talk) 22:49, February 10, 2015 (UTC)

Kelcat: I watched the incident in real time. Draco obeyed Marge and apologised. Seshet (talk) 22:59, February 10, 2015 (UTC)

Thanks, Seshet, I appreciate you letting me know what happened. --Kelcat Talk 23:01, February 10, 2015 (UTC)

Awwww. So cute. You took Seshet's word for it. The trust is too powerful. Well, Kelcat, can we talk in a chat? It's something you'll want to know, I reckon. How about Left 4 Dead wiki chat? See you there. TRedfield (talk) 23:03, February 10, 2015 (UTC)

I don't use chat, and I haven't edited on the Left 4 Dead wiki in months. I rely on other users to provide me with logs of chat, which they have all been good enough to provide me with when I ask. --Kelcat Talk 23:13, February 10, 2015 (UTC)

Suit yourself, Kelcat. Don't say I didn't try to warn you. TRedfield (talk) 23:15, February 10, 2015 (UTC)

Warn me about what? --Kelcat Talk 23:18, February 10, 2015 (UTC)

Come to Left 4 Dead wiki chat and find out for yourself, princess. TRedfield (talk) 23:22, February 10, 2015 (UTC)

Ahhhh, that explains everything. Thank you for the confirmation. --Kelcat Talk 23:22, February 10, 2015 (UTC)

Name Change

Hi, Kelcat I made a suggestion in the talk page of Major Upgrades to change the page name to improve the ability to find it in search results. I know you can put a banner/template at the top of a page that says something has been suggested and to discuss the suggestion in the talk page. Is there a temple for a name change suggestion? If so, could you direct me to it or add it for me? Thanks. Heidirs (talk) 15:58, February 11, 2015 (UTC)

Sorry for interrupting, but I just saw your post and I believe the Skyhold Upgrades is the one to use, I put it on the page also <-Kewpies (talk) 16:16, February 11, 2015 (UTC)

Red Templar Knight

Hey I replaced the image of Carroll as a Red Templar on the Red Templar page with a generic Red Templar Knight just for the sake of purity. Did the same thing with the Behemoth article and Denam. Just thought you'd like to know.

Very nice! Great job on the Erasthenes pic, too--I was worried we wouldn't be able to get a good shot with all that blue lightning surrounding him. --Kelcat Talk 06:07, February 21, 2015 (UTC)
I'm just ecstatic that we've finally got an image for each variant for the red templars and venatori.

Articles in Geographic Names

Sorry to not be around for the original discussion on this. I'd post over there, but there's this big, scary "This is archived, don't post here" message. I'm guessing posting there summons Corypheus or something.  ;) So, I'll post here since you seem to have been the one driving the discussion.

Anyway, sometimes when the question is "X or Y?", a useful answer is "Yes.". Thus, my suggestion is to pick an absolute, uniform standard of using 'the' or not (I'm agnostic on the issue) and then use a redirect ( Redirect ) for the other version.

To quote that page:

Creating redirects is helpful when there is more than one possible title for a page, or many different ways a user might search for a topic. Creating redirects for potential titles helps your users find the existing page, and also helps to prevent the accidental creation of duplicate articles.

DaBarkspawn (talk) 03:32, February 21, 2015 (UTC)

A good point that we never directly addressed there, and I agree with you about the redirects. All of the existing location pages on the wiki that would possibly include "The" should already have redirects with that article included. If any are missing, it's likely that I overlooked it when doing all the renames. --Kelcat Talk 06:07, February 21, 2015 (UTC)
Ah, a test of one name (The Storm Coast) reveals the mystery. If you search or use the pop-up hint from [[]], then it only shows the "Storm Coast", but if you hand-hack the URL to .../wiki/The_Storm_Coast, it properly redirects. The search/hint behavior is what lead me to believe it was missing. DaBarkspawn (talk) 22:36, February 21, 2015 (UTC)
Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of the mechanics of wikia's search bar, but at least they made it smaller and fixed the color. --Kelcat Talk 22:53, February 21, 2015 (UTC)

Recently banned

I was recently given a one week ban by HD3. The discussion I had with him is on my Talk Page. I would like to inquire if he sent you a message requesting you to look into this issue as I had requested on my talk page. Diain (talk) 20:36, February 21, 2015 (UTC)

Not me personally, no. I was away dealing with real life things when it happened, and had notified HD3 and another admin that I wouldn't be available for anything during that period. --Kelcat Talk 21:55, February 21, 2015 (UTC)

Unnamed topic

Thank you for that ultra generic greeting message. I generally only make edits to wikia pages when I am frustrated that meaningful content is not available. Can't even always be bothered to sign in. As was the case for the edits to: http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Item_ID_codes_(Origins) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Zelklen (talkcontribs)

It's an automated message, but you're welcome! Tonguesmiley It's always great to see articles being improved. --Kelcat Talk 05:38, February 25, 2015 (UTC)

Knowlege Article

Hey I had an idea. In addition to the standing articles, we should also make a separate article for the different knowledge perks in inquisition, listing all the situations where they apply on one article.

-HD3 Sig 11:56, February 25, 2015 (UTC)

I think that'd be a great idea. We definitely need more fleshed out info on a lot of the perks. --Kelcat Talk 20:49, February 26, 2015 (UTC)

Edit War on Anders

I think I'm seeing the beginning of one. Check the last two edits here: http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Anders?action=history . DaBarkspawn (talk) 21:10, February 27, 2015 (UTC)

Looks like it might just be some generic vandalism, but I'll keep an eye on it. Thanks! --Kelcat Talk 21:31, February 27, 2015 (UTC)

DA2 Companions in Inquisition

Honestly I think we might be better off keeping them in the Involvement section. While none of them are really major developments I still think they're too significant to be relegated to the trivia section. -HD3 Sig 05:36, March 1, 2015 (UTC)

All of them are 1-2 short sentences in the game that don't have any significance, so I don't really see that as being "involved" in the game. They're really only significant to people who played Dragon Age II. For the ones involved in war table operations, I agree those belong in the involvement section. --Kelcat Talk 05:40, March 1, 2015 (UTC)
Except Varric, of course. DaBarkspawn (talk) 05:51, March 1, 2015 (UTC)
Oh c'mon, we've got whole character articles with less material in them than we do for post da2 activities. Even putting that aside, I still think it makes more sense classification wise to put it under involvment than trivia.

-HD3 Sig 06:15, March 1, 2015 (UTC)

Shale's referenced in DA2 and that's in the trivia rather than Involvement, why should Inquisition references be different? Kelcat Talk 06:29, March 1, 2015 (UTC)
Because Shale's "reference" in DA2 is drawing of her appearing for one frame for a fraction of a second and nothing else otherwise. All the DA2 companions are mentioned directly at significantly greater length and their status varies according to whether or not hawke romanced them.

-HD3 Sig 06:32, March 1, 2015 (UTC)

I dunno, to me involvement denotes significance, and I don't see how it's significant that Sten was mentioned by Iron Bull or that Carver is still in the Free Marches. The Love Interests I'll give you, but the others don't seem important to me. Kelcat Talk 07:26, March 1, 2015 (UTC)
Admittedly I think we can afford to move the Sten one to trivia but I strongly think the others should stay.

-HD3 Sig 07:29, March 1, 2015 (UTC)

Conked out last night and forgot to answer this earlier! I'm still against having them in the Involvement section, but if you really feel this strongly about it, I won't oppose you changing them back. --Kelcat Talk 01:20, March 2, 2015 (UTC)

Banned for no reason.

Hello. I was just infinitely banned from chat by chatmod Margerard for no reason. I had said nothing in chat or sent any pms. I was actually watching a video and left the chat window open and when I checked back, I was banned. I don't know what the hell is wrong with Margerard, but I figured an admin needs to know what this chatmod did. I'd like to be unbanned immediately, as this is ridiculous. Riptor1 (talk) 20:39, March 4, 2015 (UTC)

If you're unsure why Margerard banned you, I suggest you contact her directy. I'm certain she would be more than willing to discuss the issue with you. If you wish to appeal your chat ban, your best bet is to contact the other chat moderators--that's what they're here for, after all. You can contact either User:Isolationistmagi or User:Teyx. --Kelcat Talk 12:03, March 5, 2015 (UTC)

I don't know if you're conked out again or what, but I just told you that a chatmod banned me from chat for no reason, aka abuse of the chatmod tool. I am asking you to check the logs because you are an administrator and you have the power to demote people. I'm not just looking for my chatban to be lifted, I also want Margerard demoted. It stands to reason that a person who bans people from chat infinitely for their own amusement would not respond positively to a ban appeal message. It's ridiculous that I'm banned in the first place. Telling me to follow regular procedure and appeal to another chatmod just adds insult to injury. Please get on that ban lift and demotion. Riptor1 (talk) 19:03, March 5, 2015 (UTC)

individual pages for each ability?

hello there, (to avoid making more clutter than I erroneously already have) should there be a seperate page for each ability in Inquisition? WhisperingElf (talk) 20:17, March 7, 2015 (UTC)WhisperingElf

Yes, there should. We've already got quite a few created, as you can see here: Abilities (Inquisition). But any missing ones should definitely be created. --Kelcat Talk 20:32, March 7, 2015 (UTC)

RE: Blog comments

OK Boss, sorry just tried to be funny and evil at the same time... but you gotta understand she has had it coming for a long long time --DaveManiac3 00:55, March 8, 2015 (UTC)

Hey Kelcat, why do you not bann people like Rao... I mean they are just here to push everyone's buttons... I know, I know user conduct and all but then change it and put a thing that says haters or trolls are getting banned and while it may be harsh political leaders are not there to be nice or be liked people are gonna hate you because of something but in the long run it will help. --DaveManiac3 15:10, March 9, 2015 (UTC)

Our guidelines do guard against haters, trolls, and flamers. I tend to get irritated at the most minor of things, though, so I try not to jump in and throw the bannhammer down constantly. But having read Raoniluna's most recent comment on the blog, I agree action needs to be taken. --Kelcat Talk 19:05, March 9, 2015 (UTC)

Controls Page Ready For Deletion

http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Controls

There's been no contrary commentary and I've moved all of the internal links to point to the right, new pages. I'd delete it myself, but it looks like I don't have the privs for that. DaBarkspawn (talk) 06:10, March 8, 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for reminding me, I'll take care of that now! --Kelcat Talk 02:26, March 9, 2015 (UTC)

IP check

Hey Kelcat! How are you? I fear you guys have forgotten me already! Anyway HD3 isn't available at the moment to check something so he asked me to forward it to you. There are concerns that Andrzej.lewinski.351 is an alt of FirstDrellSpectre. Can you check it out please?

Also: Can you please delete the following redirects? Titled: "The Abess' Anger" and "The Abess' Departure"Viktoria Landers 11:37, March 9, 2015 (UTC)

Hey, Vik! I was bummed to see that you were taking a break, so I'm happy to see you poking your head in! I can definitely look into that, but I have to confess that I'm not sure how to check IP's on registered users, I'll see what I can figure out, though. I'll get on deleting the redirects now. --Kelcat Talk 19:05, March 9, 2015 (UTC)
I sent in a checkuser request. --Kelcat Talk 20:45, March 9, 2015 (UTC)
It is concerning to hear that wikia does not approve checkuser requests from their wiki admins in order to help them verify if a permanently banned user has circumvented their ban or not.
Regardless, thanks for your help Smiley Viktoria Landers 08:08, March 10, 2015 (UTC)
I'm actually becoming increasingly convinced Viktoria may be correct about this. I think this issue may warrant further investigation.

-HD3 Sig 11:52, March 19, 2015 (UTC)

I'm not entirely sure. One of the big traits about FDS is his anti-mage rants and I haven't seen any of that. But it looks like all we can do is keep an eye on things since VSTF isn't willing to step in at this point. --Kelcat Talk 23:00, March 19, 2015 (UTC)

Extended Block

Hey Kelcat, I extended the block on Raonliuna because immediately after you blocked them, they started sockpuppeting using an IP anon. Have blocked them and relevant IP -HD3 Sig 23:16, March 9, 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for that, I kind of expected that to happen since they were bragging about socking on BSN. --Kelcat Talk 23:24, March 9, 2015 (UTC)

Combos

Thanks for the added material on this page. But it is not clear to me that Combos must be triggered by two different characters. A mage, for example, could throw Winter's Grasp for the Freeze disabler and then Immolate for the detonator. It's only a basic combo, but it is a combo. DaBarkspawn (talk) 06:38, March 11, 2015 (UTC)

Oh, really? I was thinking it was two different people based on the achievement, but as that is for cross-class and combos can be same class, then you might be right. Should it be changed to just "two attacks" without reference to how many party members are involved? --Kelcat Talk 07:06, March 11, 2015 (UTC)
Stand back, we're going to try science! So, I took my mage inquisitor and Solas out for a stroll in the Storm Coast and tried this out on some hurlocks. First group, Solas threw Winters Grasp and then immolate and a there were definitely more numbers flying about (from the show damage option) both from the immolate and in light blue (cold) after the immolate hit. Second group I had my inquisitor throw lightning and then immolate and the extra damage was yellow (electricity). So, I definitely think this works and the bonus damage seems keyed to both the disabler and detonator types (some of each). DaBarkspawn (talk) 01:04, March 12, 2015 (UTC)
Late edit: My inquisitor threw immolate by itself on a Red Templar Horror and there was yellow damage. So now I am not sure how to test this in isolation. DaBarkspawn (talk) 01:09, March 12, 2015 (UTC)
Interesting. Looks like we might need further tests to make certain, so for now I'll reword it to be more generic. --Kelcat Talk 01:41, March 14, 2015 (UTC)
Thanks! Feel free to try and repro my results. DaBarkspawn (talk) 02:36, March 14, 2015 (UTC)

Thedosian medicine

hello Kelcat. Using the knowledge from various games and codex entries, could I make a page that summarizes Medicine in Thedas? like this here http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Medicine . talking to the doctor at skyhold has given me the idea :). WhisperingElf (talk) 20:48, March 11, 2015 (UTC)WhisperingElf

That sounds like a cool idea to me! So long as you think there's enough info to flesh it out, I say go for it. --Kelcat Talk 00:21, March 12, 2015 (UTC)

Feedback requested

Hey I need a second opinion. Should we set up a multiplayer armor article like Heavy armor (Inquisition) or merge the multiplayer armor sets into the heavy, light and medium armor set pages respectively? I personally am leaning towards a separate mutliplayer page if only to keep things neatly ordered but to be honest I could go either way. -HD3 Sig 12:53, March 14, 2015 (UTC)

I haven't played multiplayer so I'm not entirely sure. Are there several armors that are different from singleplayer? If so, I'd say definitely do a separate article. I never liked how Origins and Awakening stuff always got lumped together, and I think this would be the same type situation. --Kelcat Talk 07:23, March 16, 2015 (UTC)
Well there are two different armour sets for each multiplayer character and 3 colour variants of each of those sets. As far as I can tell, the armour sets are unique in stats although there are some appearance overlaps.

-HD3 Sig 09:26, March 17, 2015 (UTC)

While I am picking your brain, check out Belinda i've started adding abilities to that as a guideline for how I think we should show the ability trees for the other multiplayer characters. Have a look and let me know what you think.
It looks really good! Only thing I'm not entirely sure about is the indented abilities. They kind of throw the list off a bit which makes it look kind of skewed, since on those the ability name is right on top of the stats. --Kelcat Talk 23:00, March 19, 2015 (UTC)

Vandalism

We got another vandal, calls himself liquid hands --"theGroundworkGuy 07:14, March 16, 2015 (UTC)

I found him, I'm trying to counter him, sounds like he's got beef with Margerard. If what he said about him/her was any indication. Sent along a message to the object of his anger and HD3. --173.58.100.7 (talk) 07:18, March 16, 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads-up guys, I've blocked him. --Kelcat Talk 07:23, March 16, 2015 (UTC)

Thanks.

Dear Kelcat,

Saw you dealt with our latest vandal. That frees up the rest of my night. Just wanted to pass along my congratulations for taking care of Liquid Hands, and to thank you for dealing with them. Have a pleasant time on the wiki. Goodnight.

--173.58.100.7 (talk) 07:21, March 16, 2015 (UTC)

Not a problem Smiley I'm happy to see so many users on top of this so quickly! --Kelcat Talk 07:23, March 16, 2015 (UTC)

Yeah, happy to help. Well, off to bed for me. Enjoy your stay! Night! :) --173.58.100.7 (talk) 07:24, March 16, 2015 (UTC)

New must-watch videos

Hello Kelcat, was just wondering if mayeb the admins could put new videos in the Must-Watch section, just to spruce up the wiki a little and keep it current --WhisperingElf (talk) 20:06, March 19, 2015 (UTC)WhisperingElf

Unfortunately, the Must-Watch video section is a site-wide wikia.com function that we don't have any control over. It's actually much better than it was a few months ago, when the videos weren't even remotely related to Dragon Age! --Kelcat Talk 23:00, March 19, 2015 (UTC)
Alright, thanks anyway! You all do a great job around here. --WhisperingElf (talk) 20:41, March 20, 2015 (UTC)WhisperingElf
You've been doing a great job, too, with all the ability articles you've helped add! --Kelcat Talk 07:11, March 21, 2015 (UTC)

Re: Hoda Images

Hey Kelcat, I swear I will get around to uploading them soon, I just keep forgetting about them when I have spare time. Anyway, I do have a list of all the ones I've got on my computer anyway, hopefully its the complete list. You can find it here in my sandbox. Should hopefully be able to keep that updated with any that are sent to me as well. DeakialSig1 12:16, March 20, 2015 (UTC)

Killer Strategy

Hey, Kelcat. I've left, under a spoiler mask, a strategy at The Elder One (strategy) in phase 5. I'm a bit ambivalent about it because a) it takes all of the risk out of the climactic fight and b) I think it may leverage a bug in the game. Let me know what you think about it. DaBarkspawn (talk) 04:12, March 21, 2015 (UTC)

I think it's fine. I don't see an issue with taking the risk out of it, as some players prefer that so they can get through the game. I'm pretty sure we've got other strategies on the wiki that make use of bugs and exploits, so I think that's okay, too. If it is a bug and it gets fixed, we can always amend that part. --Kelcat Talk 07:11, March 21, 2015 (UTC)
Okay, cool! DaBarkspawn (talk) 16:13, March 22, 2015 (UTC)

Multiplayer Armor

Ok so i've set up an article for the mutliplayer armor sets here: 2 Obviously a good chunk of the armor articles, much like those in the single player are still to be written so its not complete but if you felt like giving it a once a over and seeing if anything leaps out at you for possible changes, I'd appreciate it. -HD3 Sig 07:07, March 22, 2015 (UTC)

Sorry, for the late reply--finally got a new job (yay!) I'll take a look at the article and give you feedback asap. --Kelcat Talk 05:11, March 25, 2015 (UTC)

Codex numbering post-DLC

Hey Kelcat :) I'm wondering how to do the numbering of the entries now that the dlc is out and the numbers change for those who have the DLC. It seems there has been some kind of numbering system for example in Origins/Awakening codex entries, so will there be a similar approach to DAI codex entries also? --Kewpies signature Kewpies[talk] 20:52, March 24, 2015 (UTC)

Hey, Kewpies! Good question. I'm waiting to play the DLC until I've started a new playthrough, so I'm not entirely sure how it looks, but if the numbering changes, we should definitely add that to the entries. I think something similar to Codex entry: Shale, where we put +number and then an abbreviation for the DLC. I'm thinking maybe JH, or JoH? Also, any new codexes in the DLC need to have |dlc DAI = Jaws of Hakkon added to the infobox, if it's not already. --Kelcat Talk 05:11, March 25, 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for the reply, yes that would make sense (and yup, numbers of several old entries change, as the new entries are all over really!). But it's by no means urgent, I just wanted to check with you in case I was gonna edit anything there hehe :) And by the way, congratulations on your new job, that sounds great! --Kewpies signature Kewpies[talk] 22:20, March 25, 2015 (UTC)

Warrior Abilities (Inquisition)

Hey I was thinking, we could delete this article since everything on it is covered pretty comprehensively on the various ability and specialization list articles and the Warrior (Inquisition) article. -HD3 Sig 04:16, March 25, 2015 (UTC)

I agree. It looks like that was just one of many articles made in the early stages that aren't really needed. --Kelcat Talk 05:11, March 25, 2015 (UTC)

Heads up on source highlighting

I was asking Wikia support how to turn this off because it made it hard to read. There is a preference. As a by-the-way, they asked why and I sent them a screenshot. This is their reply:

Back to the original issue: yeah, that's wrong. The highlighting is using the wrong colours on Dragon Age Wiki - it's using the dark theme, instead of the light theme. I've disabled the highlighting for the time being, and we'll look into why this is happening.

Best regards,

Numbers

I thought you should know that a new user by name of Margedumb is making pages for no apparent reason who's only content seems to be numbers. I don't pretend to know everything about Wiki's but I'm pretty sure there's no point in that.
