Codex numbers[]

Thank you soooo much for adding all the codex numbers! It's something we've needed to have updated for a long time, so I'm happy to see someone working on it! --Kelcat Talk 08:06, December 22, 2015 (UTC)

Thanks! I've been meaning to finish up 'History' and 'Letters & Notes' as well, but there are still some missing entries and I'm not sure where they're from. I think I'll just assume they're from Trespasser for now and update later if needed. --Evamitchelle (talk) 09:19, December 22, 2015 (UTC)

Isseya Image[]

Hey Evamitchelle, I think I accidentally deleted your good version of the isseya image instead of the one I meant to. My bad -Seekers of Truth heraldry.pngHD3 (Talk) 10:52, April 14, 2016 (UTC)

No worries. I still had it on my hard drive so re-uploading it was really quick. --Evamitchelle (talk) 11:10, April 14, 2016 (UTC)

Tomb of Fairel[]

So I take it you're the person who decided they were a proof reader for everything worked on....

Yes, there was a "duplicate map", however it was actually intentional due to the length of the page, and because people who use Wikia know to scroll down to the bottom Photo Gallery (if one exists) when they're trying to find a map.

Perhaps asking the editor instead of just deleting their work next time? Thanks.Rilriia (talk) 23:33, April 29, 2016 (UTC)

There was already a talk page that explained that having two images was superfluous and it's against the guidelines so I didn't think it needed much more explanation. --Evamitchelle (talk) 01:01, April 30, 2016 (UTC)

You're right, there is.... on Wookiepedia. There's also one on RuneScape. There isn't one here. In fact, I had already e-mailed Wikia about this to inquire as to whether you could add multiple instances of an image to the same page, such as embedding a map into the walk-through as well as the Image Gallery. They didn't have a problem with it on lengthy pages and agreed that in that instance, it would simplify things for their users. Something about being able to find the information you're looking for quickly for efficacy's sake. So if they didn't have a problem with it, why do you? Rilriia (talk) 18:35, April 30, 2016 (UTC)

The talk page where this is being discussed at is Talk:The Tomb of Fairel#Maps here, and you are more than welcome to participate. However, this isn't wookiepedia, nor is it RuneScape, or any other wikia. We have our own guidelines we follow, one of which is not to duplicate images on an article. You can read DA:IMAGE to familiarize yourself with the guidelines for future editing. --Kelcat Talk 18:47, April 30, 2016 (UTC)

Hey thanks for picking up that typo. I failed to notice the capitalization. -Seekers of Truth heraldry.pngHD3 (Talk) 12:00, September 25, 2017 (UTC)

Leaving a message[]

Hi, I just noticed you reverted my edit on Inquisition's epilogue, the same day actually and without any summary. I would've appreciated if you either left a message on my talk page or at least summarized the reason. I saw no clear citation on the page or in summaries, and the talk page from what I saw only has speculations. Meanwhile in my experiments the mechanic behind it seemed to work differently from how it is currently on the page. I would be interested in knowing if this has been widely tested or confirmed officially or anything of the sort, since you reverted the edit instantly and without a word. Thanks for letting me know in advance. Liaison Shaw (talk) 17:36, October 9, 2017 (UTC)

I have tested it myself. My perk investment in Secrets was smaller than the respective one in Forces and Connections. However I deliberately completed many extra repeatable war table operations with Leliana and the Inquisition's focus I received in the game's epilogue was on Secrets meaning that your reasoning for changing the Epilogue page was wrong. Na via lerno victoria 12:03, October 15, 2017 (UTC)
I just noticed your message, I'm sorry for not answering it earlier. I thought the explanation on the Talk Page was enough to justify my lack of summary. I've also seen the connection between war table missions and epilogue myself; I've completed the game several times with all 3 different epilogues even though I take the same perks every time. But I also keep a tally of every single war table mission I complete in any given playthrough (including repeatable missions, story missions etc.), and every time I get the epilogue for the advisor used the most often. --Evamitchelle (talk) 08:31, October 17, 2017 (UTC)
Alright, thank you both for the answer. Liaison Shaw (talk) 07:51, October 18, 2017 (UTC)

Script for review[]

Hey, Evanmitchelle. Thanks so much for volunteering to help review video scripts. Wikia just passed a new script on to me, this one for the Dragon Hunter article. The link to the google doc is:

You just need to review it for any grammar and spelling errors, and make sure it accurately reflects the subject (no lore errors, wrong or misleading directions, etc). Go ahead and make the changes on the doc itself and let me know when it's ready so I can pass it on. They'd appreciate having it ready in 2-3 days so they can start making the video. Thanks again! --Kelcat Talk 04:43, December 12, 2017 (UTC)

No problem. However, I can't access the document yet. I've requested access but I guess it needs to be manually approved. I'll review it as soon as I can take a look. --Evamitchelle (talk) 08:17, December 12, 2017 (UTC)
I've accessed the doc, and I'm done with the review. I think I was pretty thorough. --Evamitchelle (talk) 11:51, December 13, 2017 (UTC)

Image categorization, etc[]

Hey there! Have a happy New Year!

I've made a few fixes on some Blue Wraith images you have uploaded, which you might want to check out for future reference. Thanks. Na via lerno victoria 17:12, January 4, 2020 (UTC)

Thanks! I'll keep that in mind in the future. --Evamitchelle (talk) 14:09, January 9, 2020 (UTC)

Deluxe Edition Images[]

Hey thanks for adding those. I've been wanting those for ages but couldn't bring myself to pay the ludicrous shipping costs to have them sent to me in bf nowhere. Thanks. -Seekers of Truth heraldry.pngHD3 (Talk) 16:28, March 30, 2020 (UTC)

No problem, I've been meaning to add those for a while too. --Evamitchelle (talk) 09:59, March 31, 2020 (UTC)

Armor Variations[]

Just wanted to say that these are a very nice touch. I'd always observed that the same piece of armor looks different on different characters, but it is nice to see it laid out systematically. If you feel like taking it a step further, it would be awesome to got to the armor page for each armor and do a composite image like this of all of the characters wearing that appropriate armor. A stock Inky of the right class would be fun, too. We have galleries for some (e.g., Apprentice Armor) and not others (e.g, Apprentice Coat). It would be nice to be consistent about it. DaBarkspawn (talk) 04:15, September 28, 2020 (UTC)

Thanks! I'm currently in the process of adding all the companions to the armor schematics pages. Like the Scout Armor Schematic page. Eventually all the companions of the proper class will be in the gallery, with the Inquisitor in the infobox. Is that what you mean? Because of the different dimensions between images, lining up different characters in one shot would probably take me a lot longer. --Evamitchelle (talk) 04:40, September 28, 2020 (UTC)
It isn't exactly what I meant (I meant the box of boxes format as with the companion pages), but I understand the point about scaling. This works, also. DaBarkspawn (talk) 06:07, September 28, 2020 (UTC)

The Calling dating inconsistencies[]

So I've read about how The Calling has quite a few dating inconsistencies. Would the Empress Celene reference in The Calling be one of them? In the Epilogue which seems to take place in 9: 10-9:11 Dragon, Maric says he invited the new Empress of Orlais. That seems to be an impossibility, right? Like David Gaider leaving an easter egg reference to that Origins plotline that he was forced to drop, about Celene visiting Denerim. Kingsman28 (talk) 07:12, 25 January 2021 (UTC)

Yes, it's another inconsistency. I don't think it's an easter egg, just something that was changed late in development. The Empress of Orlais is mentioned somewhere else in the book. Not by name, but it should be Florian on the throne at that time, not Celene. Evamitchelle (talk) 11:00, 25 January 2021 (UTC)
Are you sure the earlier reference is also in The Calling and not The Stolen Throne? Because she is mentioned at the epilogue of that book as well as having been crowned Empress two years before the epilogue (another inconsistency). Btw, is Stolen Throne's epilogue set way after The Calling? Because the epilogue mentions Cailain is 12 years old and if he really were born in 9:05 Dragon, that puts the epilogue in 9: 17-9: 18 Dragon a long ways away from The Calling. Kingsman28 (talk) 08:08, 28 January 2021 (UTC)
In Chapter 13 of The Calling, from Genevieve, Commander of the Grey in Orlais: “My brother is a chevalier, a general in the Empress’s army! He has a wife, and a son! He is nothing like the miserable man in my dream!” I doubt it refers to Florian's wife. If it were a one-off, I'd chalk it up to an error, but since there's multiple mentions of the Empress of Orlais across the two novels I think it's more likely that Celene's timeline was altered sometime between the release of the books (+time to get it ready for publication I assume) and of DAO. Evamitchelle (talk) 11:06, 28 January 2021 (UTC)
You might be onto something. Wish I could find something talking about David Gaider's thoughts on that. Weird that no one ever brought it up before. Kingsman28 (talk) 15:23, 28 January 2021 (UTC)
Well, I think comparatively few people read the ancillary material , and both books came out before there was anything to compare them to. And for all we know, Gaider might have already answered somewhere on the Old BSN/Tumblr but they've both been nuked since so it could have just gotten lost. Evamitchelle (talk) 10:47, 29 January 2021 (UTC)

War table quests[]

Hey just a heads up, I placed the war table quests in the order that they become available to a particular companion/character.

The following is the chain of quest acquisition for Blackwall:

The Lone Warden The Lone Warden
Utilize the Grey Warden Treaties Utilize the Grey Warden Treaties
Memories of the Grey Memories of the Grey
Conscript for the Inquisition Conscript for the Inquisition
Explanations Explanations
Revelations Revelations
Thom Rainier's Fate Thom Rainier's Fate
Quest icon DAI.png Sit in Judgment of Rainier
Rainier's Release: An Alternative Rainier's Release: An Alternative
The Consequences of Blackwall's Lie The Consequences of Blackwall's Lie

Perhaps just labeling the quest (war table) -see below- to the right of the quest may be better versus creating a quest sub category.

Utilize the Grey Warden Treaties Utilize the Grey Warden Treaties (war table)

What do you think? --Zj24 (talk) 04:07, 24 February 2021 (UTC)

I think both approaches have their pros and cons and I don't have a really strong preference. Actually, I think the best way would be to have a separate icon for war table missions, but I'm not sure what to use. In any case, in the Quests section, I'm fine with putting labels on the quests instead of separating them, but it'd be too crowded in the infobox. Do you also prefer chronological order there? Also for quest chains like Varric's, I think keeping the war table mission order should take priority over a strict chronological order (i.e. not putting Well, Shit in the middle of the war table quest chain). What do you think? Evamitchelle (talk) 05:38, 24 February 2021 (UTC)
The order is only important to companions that have war table quests that lead to, or further expand additional companion quests, i.e. Blackwall, Sera & Cole. No real need to break down quests from the war table operations; they can all be listed together. I'll adjust Varric & Sera as examples. --Zj24 (talk) 19:44, 25 February 2021 (UTC)
Got it. I'll label the war table quests with (war table) as mentioned above. Evamitchelle (talk) 01:48, 26 February 2021 (UTC)

Morrigan Blood Mage Category[]

You're referring to the Dark Ritual, right? If so, I think that deserves a note on the page somewhere, because that's a really obscure reference to blood magic and there's no self-stabbing animation or anything like that. Cheers. DaBarkspawn (talk) 02:35, 23 May 2021 (UTC)

Yeah it's mostly about the Dark Ritual. Lonelydragonagefan added Morrigan to the blood mage page and at first I didn't really agree with the categorization, but when I rewatched the Dark Ritual scene in DAO and her introduction in DAI she says that some might consider what she does blood magic. It's vague and evsaive, but calling her a blood mage isn't a complete stretch. I'll add some explanation on the relevant pages. Evamitchelle (talk) 03:39, 23 May 2021 (UTC)

Thank you for your change on https://dragonage.fandom.com/wiki/Wicked_Eyes_and_Wicked_Hearts at 02:40, 21 June 2021

What YOU put actually makes sense.... too bad I'm past that part now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by (talkcontribs)

Please read the "Not with Neither and Nor" section of the link I provided. It is not double negation, it is consistent negation. DaBarkspawn (talk) 20:23, 15 July 2021 (UTC)

I did read the link you provided, and it doesn't say anything about using both neither and nor after a negative clause. If we followed the rule outlined in your link, the sentence would become something like "this talent is not implemented as a game mechanic, nor is it implemented as a plot device," which is not what you corrected it to. But as for the original phrasing, you wouldn't say "I don't have neither the time nor the patience" or "I haven't been neither to the US nor the UK." The same principle applies to "this talent is not implemented neither as a game mechanic nor as a plot device." There are multiple ways to fix this sentence and I'm not really particular about which one to use but No One of Consequence was right to change it. Evamitchelle (talk) 02:24, 16 July 2021 (UTC)
First, I did not 'correct' it to anything, I reverted it to what it was before and had been for a very long time. As the link points out, one does use a negated verb when using one of them, therefore also true with both. I actually would say, "I do not have neither the time nor the patience." That is because the 'do not' negates the verb 'have' whereas 'neither' and 'nor' negate the nouns 'time' and 'patience' respectively. Similarly, in the sentence, "However, in the games, this talent is not implemented neither as a game mechanic nor as a plot device.", 'not' negates 'implemented', 'neither' modifies the noun phrase 'as a game mechanic' and 'nor' modifies 'as a plot device' and so there is no double negation in that sentence. No One of Consequence was not correct in their grammatical change. Also, looking back on this, I realized that the sentence itself is wrong. Valta uses her stone sense in "Descent" to direct the party which way to go to find the titan. So it is used as a plot device. DaBarkspawn (talk) 14:27, 16 July 2021 (UTC)
Well that settles the issue then. Evamitchelle (talk) 17:27, 16 July 2021 (UTC)

My Wicked eyes edit[]

Hi Evamitchelle, I wanted to say that I did not see your message about moving my edit regarding Agents, which I put in the Wicked Eyes, Wicked Hearts page, until after I had reposted it on the page the final time. There was no way to reply to the message, so I wanted to say something here. My only thought on moving it to the Agents section would be that more people are probably likely to see the information in the mission walkthrough. This is, of course, your call, but I see that you did incorporate the information in the Investigate Brialla's Agents section of the walkthrough. This was not and never was an attempt to show you up. It comes from having played the game 16 times, and tutoring friends on how to play and win. I simply like to see to it that players get the most information possible to help them succeed. Your Inquisition wiki is a wonderful resource, and I greatly respect what you have done there. Forgive me if I just occasionally see things that need tweaking, and perhaps don't put the information in the best possible place.

On that note: I just added a note to the By The Grace of The Dalish page, for The Exalter Plains, that, in addition to Eleven Inquisitors, non-Elven Inquisitors can also get the Special Dialogue option "A golden halla? Hanal'ghilan?", when speaking with Ithiren, if they have the Secrets Perk: Arcane Knowledge.

Thanks and no hard feelings, I think your edits added valuable information to the wiki. Your second edit on WEWH made me realize I could have just incorporated the info within the article in the first place instead of just moving it to the talk page. Also, if I do end up tweaking some formatting or wording in one of your edits (like on the By the Grace of the Dalish article), it doesn't necessarily mean that you did anything incorrectly, I've just been working towards standardizing formatting across pages, but there aren't any official rules about it so a lot of it is based on personal preference. Please always feel free to make changes where you see incomplete/incorrect info! Evamitchelle (talk) 05:56, 22 July 2021 (UTC)

One tiny change[]

I did make one minor correction to your edit. I changed "available to a non-Elven Inquisition" to "non-Elven Inquisitor" I like what you did to my other edit, about the Agents. I have a rather nasty tendency to be just a wee bit...verbose :-) —Preceding unsigned comment added by (talkcontribs)

Thanks for catching my mistake! Evamitchelle (talk) 09:28, 22 July 2021 (UTC)

Where did they come from[]

Where did these old edits that you are finding come from, I'm wondering? I deleted all but the two we discussed long before I got your message about moving that one edit to the Agents page. Sorry about that, I definitely deleted them, but perhaps I didn't save the deletion. I don't know. —Preceding unsigned comment added by (talkcontribs)

I'm not sure I understand your question, but you can look at past edits under History, which you can find by clicking on the three yellow vertical dots on the top right of articles. Evamitchelle (talk) 02:10, 26 July 2021 (UTC)

Removing Fandom interwiki links[]

I don't understand why you are replacing interwiki links ("[w:c:...") with URLs as in this example. Linking to other wikis is exactly what that linking format is for. See this Wikia help page for more details. DaBarkspawn (talk) 14:21, 27 July 2021 (UTC)

Couldn't get it to work. The [w:c:...] Mass Effect 2 link that was originally on Ruck's page just takes me to a blank page on Community Central. I'm not sure what the problem is. It'd be great if you could fix the links, I'd like to see what the proper syntax is. Evamitchelle (talk) 01:59, 28 July 2021 (UTC)
I've found that they don't work in preview mode while editing (known bug), but they do work when saved. Did you have the problem while looking at the page or while editing? DaBarkspawn (talk) 02:36, 28 July 2021 (UTC)
Yeah that's it. I was looking at them in preview mode. It works fine on the final page. I'll revert the links on Ruck's page. Thanks! Evamitchelle (talk) 02:48, 28 July 2021 (UTC)
Welcome! And feel free to file a bug about this, the more of us who do, perhaps they'll feel more included to fix it. DaBarkspawn (talk) 02:55, 28 July 2021 (UTC)
