Treviso is a port-city in northern Antiva located on the coast of Rialto Bay.

Treviso has always been a free port. Even the Merchant Princes respect this. Their fortunes exist because its people trade and work where they will.[1]

History[]

The Antivan Crows originate from the area surrounding Treviso. Their order was founded by a group of monks who poisoned their tyrannical duke.[2][3] Treviso remains an important city for the Crows; it is the seat of House Valisti,[4] whose members have frequently served as Talons for the Crows.

Treviso was captured and liberated several times during the Qunari Wars and the New Exalted Marches. It was first captured by the Qunari in 6:35 Steel, as a result of which the city burned.[5] It was presumably liberated sometime during the first New Exalted March before being recaptured by the Qunari during the second New Exalted March, along with most of the rest of Antiva.[6] Treviso burned again in 7:52 Storm when it was liberated by the armies of the Imperial Chantry and Orlesian Chantry.[5]

A fire engulfed the city yet again in 8:62 Blessed when a dockhand accidentally spilled a lantern in a warehouse full of lamp oil.[5]

Treviso has been invaded and captured by the Qunari. The occupying Qunari are led by Daathrata, a member of the Antaam who's nicknamed the Butcher due to his cruelty. The Antivan Crows in the city are actively engaged in resistance efforts, taking out Qunari lieutenants such as Kaathrata the Lash and destroying Qunari weapon caches.[7]

Dragon Age: The Veilguard[]

Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

The first act of the Antaam invasion was to blockade Treviso's trading ships with their dreadnoughts. Then they somehow took out all Treviso guard outposts in a single evening. After that, the Antaam built fortified camps right inside Treviso, positioned as though they'd already figured out where to choke off resistance. Some Antivan Crows believe there is a traitor in Treviso that facilitated the Antaam's invasion of the city.[1]

Treviso is still under Antaam occupation, with their troops setting up checkpoints and regularly interrogating citizens, and the Crows continue to resist. After Neve Gallus suggests hiring the Demon of Vyrantium to help in the fight against the Evanuris, Rook and the Veilguard travel to Treviso to recruit him. After this, the Veilguard continue to work with the Crows to resist the Antaam occupation.

In the quest A Slow Poison, the Antivan Crows send the Veilguard to discover what became of Dareth, their Crow spy on the Butcher, and follow up on his investigation. The Veilguard discovered Dareth was killed by the Antaam but they managed to release his cousin, Jacobus, from a cage. From Dareth's notes, it is revealed that the Butcher had employed a Qamekmaster to create large amounts of Qamek, but after sneaking into the Butcher's garrison, the team find out that someone stole some of the qamek he made. This infuriated the Butcher, who confined him to a room. The Qamekmaster took up Ghilan'nain's offer of power and blighted himself, transforming himself into an ogre in order to spite his punishment. Rook and their team slay the Qamekmaster. After inspecting his room, they find the Qamekmaster's note. The note made mention of the Butcher's inside traitor, confirming the Antaam occupation had help. Rook then reported their findings to Viago and Teia. When Rook returns to the Cantori Diamond, they meet Governor Rayan Ivenci, an uptight bureaucrat blaming the Crows for exacerbating Treviso's occupation and angry at how much agency they have.

After completing the quest A Warden's Best Friend, Ghilan'nain launches simultaneous dragon attacks on both Treviso and Minrathous. Rook may choose to save Treviso, in which case Minrathous will be overrun by the Venatori and most of the Shadow Dragons executed or murdered. Should Rook choose to save Minrathous, the Crows suffer heavy losses and Treviso becomes infested with Blight.

In the quest Statuary, Fine Art, and Antaam, Part 1, the Veilguard follow a lead from Mistress Trella and discover the Antaam in Treviso have been confiscating Treviso art and trading it to Venatori for magical components that will magically enhance their gaatlok powder. The Antaam and Venatori form an uneasy alliance to develop this more powerful version of magical gaatlok and in Statuary, Fine Art, and Antaam, Part 2, the two organizations have completed development of it; although neither party seems impressed with the completed product nor enjoy the company of their partnering faction. During the quest, the Antaam and Venatori have begun to set up these new and improved explosives across Treviso, with the terrorists seeking to detonate them all at once to intimidate the city's citizens and to destroy the homes of those they deem troublesome. The Antivan Crows task Rook and their team to dispatch these terrorists and to destroy the gaatlok caches discreetly.

It is later revealed that Treviso's Governor Ivenci was working with the Antaam behind the scenes to destroy the Crows and take full control of the city. Ivenci justifies their betrayal by claiming they were trying to keep their people from being slaughtered by the Antaam. Rook also discovers that the Butcher has grown fond of Treviso during his time occupying the city, to the point where he will deliberately give himself up to be blighted in order to discover the location of the Evanuris' chosen ritual site, hoping to ultimately save the city from the gods. After his death, Ivenci takes command of Treviso's Antaam, who seems to believe in whatever purpose Ivenci persuaded them with. Invenci's Antaam followers state that the Butcher was weak, and so they follow the governor now. Some of the Butcher's loyalists decry Ivenci's Antaam for going against the Qun. It is suspected that after destroying the Antivan Crows, Ivenci will install the Antaam as Antiva's "protectors."[8] Ivenci plans to release qamek all around Treviso to "pacify violent seditionists." In the quest A Time to Kill, Rook attacks Ivenci's forces and may choose to either kill Ivenci or keep him alive to face trial.
