The Returned Cultist Case is a companion quest for Neve in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

Acquisition[]

The quest is unlocked by speaking to Neve at the Lighthouse after Blood of Arlathan.

Walkthrough[]

Aelia has taken Dock Town's people. She plans to increase her blood magic. But Neve knows where Aelia's hiding. Time to meet face-to-face.

Serpent's Tail (scepter for Neve), given if Minrathous was not saved. If Minrathous was saved, this item is given in Neve's next quest.
If Minrathous was saved, Neve attains Hero of the Veilguard status at end of this quest (if Minrathous was not saved, additional requirements apply, as described in the next section below). Hero of the Veilguard status comes with:
- The heroic armor Threader's Plates and the Winter's Wrath skill, if Neve becomes Dock Town's protector, or
- The heroic armor Investigator's Robes and the Cold Justice skill, if Neve becomes Dock Town's inspiration.

Results[]

Thanks to a tip from Rana, Neve knows Aelia is hiding in Sanctum Lusacan - an old temple, lost and forgotten in the Minrathous catacombs - and there's an entrance in Dock Town. The time has come to face Aelia. But there's a few people Neve needs to talk to first.

Aelia will soon complete her blood magic ritual. If there's any hope for Dock Town's missing people, Neve needs to find them now. Rana and Elek have agreed to help. As everyone descends into Sanctrum Lusacan, a meeting with Aelia approaches, and Neve must decide how this ends.

Neve finally confronted Aelia face-to-face, stopping her blood magic ritual and freeing Dock Town residents from the cultists's hold. Aelia will be interrogated by the cleanest justicar in the city. Neve is a symbol of hope for Dock Town. People know they can turn to her in times of trouble. And if Neve's ever in trouble, she knows the team will have her back.

If Minrathous was saved, the next quest, The Local Hero, is unlocked if other perquisites are met.
If Minrathous was not saved, Hero of the Veilguard status can be attained at a later conversation at the Lighthouse that becomes available after completing all Dock Town region quests (including The Tempered Soul, Everlasting) and advancing the main story to certain point. This conversation involves a visit from Elek Tavor and will provide Neve with the Hero of Veilguard status, along with 200 gold and 300 Shadow Dragons strength.
