The Mabari Hound can see the Warden help cure a sick hound and earn a friend for life. The Kennel Master at the king's camp has a Mabari, a hound bred for intelligence and combat ability. It has been poisoned by darkspawn blood and needs help.

Walkthrough

  • If you are not a Human Noble, then when you talk to the Kennel Master (by the kennels area in Ostagar), he will tell you about a sick Mabari and ask you to help muzzle it.
  • Muzzle the hound and the Kennel Master will ask you to look out for a particular flower if you happen to venture into the Korcari Wilds.
  • Once in the Wilds, soon after passing the Dying Soldier, you should see the Wilds Flower growing from a log next to a ruin.
  • Return the flower to the Kennel Master and the quest is complete. Make sure you do this before heading to the Tower of Ishal.
  • Alternatively, you may kill the Mabari.

Result

There is no immediate effect, but Dog will find you at the Deserted Farmland after the Battle for Ostagar is complete and once you are on your way to Lothering).

If you demand payment from the Kennel Master, you receive 50Silver and 500 EXP. Otherwise you get no reward.

Notes

  • If you are of Human Noble origin, then you already have Dog. The Kennel Master would not ask for your help upon arriving at Ostagar, but you may still start the quest by searching for the flower at the Wilds. When gathering the flower, a cutscene with Daveth will start, stating that the Kennel Master needs this flower and is offering a reward. After your quest at the Wilds, go to the Kennel Master and get your reward or, if you're generous enough, present it as help for the army.
  • There are numerous locations of the flower at the Wilds. Even though you have gathered more than one, the Kennel Master would only reward you for one flower.

Bugs

  • If you click on the flower and nothing happens. Just go back to the town and then return to the flower.
