The Long Buried Past is a side quest in Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening.
Walkthrough[]
In an unlocked chest past the bridge in the Knotwood Hills is a Discarded Letter. The letter suggested that there was a treasure hunter by the name of Darran Lyle and that he found something in the chasm and took it to the City of Amaranthine. The chantry in Amaranthine may keep records that could reveal what Darran Lyle found.
When you arrive at the chantry in the main room there is a bookcase to the right of the arched entrance to the Revered Mother's chambers. There you will find some records that suggest that Darran Lyle lived in a small house on the outskirts of the city; he lived there untill he died. The treasure may remain there.
Grab the records from the bookcase. The location you need to head to is near the entrance to the city, slightly north of the abandoned house. Steafan is also standing near the packed earth; you will find the Ring of Subtlety there.
Notes[]
- If you go into the chantry and get the records before you get the quest, the records show up in your codex, but the Packed Earth does not show up and the quest cannot be completed. You may be able to complete it if you go back into the Chantry and click on the bookshelf again to get the quest to update correctly.
