While exploring the Converged City in the Crossroads, the team stumbles into a fragment of the Dread Wolf's memories and take on the role of one of his agents during a raid on Ghilan'nain's secret laboratory.

After accessing the Crossroads during Into the Crossroads Rook can head into an alcove directly east from the Converged City center to find a shimmering barrier in the way. Crossing it causes the quest to trigger and play out to its completion.

When the team takes a trip into the past, they learn more about the gods' involvement with the blight.
Explore the past[]
Speak with Solas' agent Tarasahl then grab the key on the table to the right of the door and head inside the lab. Fight through the blight infested lab until you come upon a staircase leading upward. Head west just before the stairs to grab a memento before proceeding up to trigger a conversation between Solas and Tarasahl.
In the room up ahead with the statue, first point it east to access a room with blight bulbs concealing a chest. Head back to the statue, point it south to access and destroy a blight bulb in the southern room. Follow the string of blight and destroy it's bulbs along the way - including one in the ceiling - by turning the statue as needed to access each room. Finally exit the room through the northern door behind a wall of blight.
After defeating more darkspawn the team will witness a scene of a captured Tarasahl being blighted by Ghilan'nain in her non-mutated form.
Another wave of darkspawn stands between the team and the final fragment of this memory where Solas is arguing with Ghilan'nain over the injured Tarasahl who begs Solas to help her.
Rook can encourage Solas to help her or simply state that he won't due to his fear of the blight spreading but regardless he will only end her suffering.
Take the contents of the chest by the stairs and grab the wolf statuette, which finishes the quest.
