“I've seen more of this war than you can imagine. None shall be untouched by the fires above. Faith lies in ashes. Our fragile alliances crumble to dust as this world is torn asunder. Darkness closes in. Will you stand against it or lead this world to its bitter end?” ―Morrigan[1]
The Inquisitor is the player-controlled protagonist of Dragon Age: Inquisition. The player will be able to choose the character's race, gender, class, and voice set.[3][4]
Involvement
Following the opening of the game, the Veil has torn across Thedas, and the Inquisitor is the sole survivor of one of those tearings. As the Demon Invasion begins, a decision is made to restore the Inquisition, and the Inquisitor is tasked with leading it to investigate the tears.
Character creation
The player begins by selecting a gender, race (human, elf, qunari[5] or dwarf), voice set,[4] and class (warrior, rogue or mage); the mage class is unavailable to dwarves.
Origins
The player's background will depend on the race chosen; given their unique status, magi Inquisitor's may have a slightly different origin in comparison to non-mage characters.
- Qunari Inquisitor is a Vashoth, a qunari who was never introduced to the Qun.
- Elven Inquisitor will be Dalish.
Voice sets
Unlike in Dragon Age: Origins, in which the player character was silent, and Dragon Age II, which featured one voice per gender for the player character, the player will be able to choose between two voices per gender; one with a British accent, and one with an American one.[6]
Last name
- Human warrior - Trevelyan
- Dalish elven mage - Lavellan[7]
- Qunari rogue - Adaar
- Dwarven warrior - Cadash
