Result: The village is quiet. The air is foul. Your companions cover their mouths and noses with the hem of their cloaks. Those villagers who aren't sick have locked themselves inside in the hope the disease can't find its way past a simple board of wood. You call for your physician.

As you cross the market/ride back to the castle someone jokes about your parentage He thought you'd ridden from earshot. He was wrong.
Result: Scandalous rumors "The old Marquis - this one's mother - was very friendly with the Cheery Baron. Very friendly. They hunted together often, just the two of them. Sometimes he'd spear the boar, and sometimes he'd spear her!" Silence falls across the crowd.
