Telana is an elven dreamer mage who had the love and affection of Inquisitor Ameridan.
Background[]
A few pages barely legible from an old torn book describe Ameridan and Telana's final moments together:[1]
As Haron and Orinna drew the Avvar that were guarding the fortress away, Telana and Ameridan painstakingly managed to destroy the Tevinter frost-ward that sealed its entrance—as the Avvar's mastery of ice allowed them to slip through the ward without melting it.
The plan entailed luring the dragon into a trap once inside. However, the Avvars managed to fend them off and put up a brutal fight as the dragon's power was like none either of the two had ever seen. Possessed by the Avvar god-spirit—which rivaled that of the legendary Archdemon Dumat[2]—the beast managed to severely injure Telana in the ensuing confrontation.
Telana claimed that she could continue on fighting, but despite their use of healing magic, her limp spoke louder than words. Ameridan thought it best to send Telana back outside, as his final act would be to unleash a powerful spell to seal the dragon within the fortress forever. Knowing just how small her chance for escape would be in her current state, he waited as long as he could, praying that she escaped the ruins in time to warn Orinna and Haron—then bound himself to Hakkon for all eternity.
Involvement[]
The Inquisitor discovers that Telana escaped from the fortress and ended up on a nearby island. She went to sleep in an attempt to see Ameridan once more through her dreams. However, she couldn't find him and then perished of her injuries. In death, she attracted the attention of numerous spirits, some of which identified with her so strongly that they preserved not just her belongings but some of her memories as well.
When the Inquisitor meets Ameridan, they can either tell him Telana's true fate or lie to him and say that she escaped and went on to live well.
