Knight-Commander Tavish is a Templar, who appears eager to deal with criminals wherever he finds them.

Background

Tavish is not a character with a large role in the game however he can be good for information. Not much is known on his background for there is no option to ask about it.
What is known about him is his strong sense of justice and disliking of the blight.

Involvement

During certain quests (Defying the Collective, as one example) the player can hand over evidence of illegality to Tavish, who presumably deals with it appropriately.
He is a templar and if Alistair is with you being nice towards him will grant you +3 approval. 
His less scrupulous counterpart is Knight-Commander Harrith.
