The Talkative man is a character featured in Dragon Age II.
Background
A strange philosopher, this man is the only person consciously aware of being in a story told by someone else, and in a video game. He regularly breaks the fourth wall with his conversation topics.

He also thinks that Alistair was put on the throne (if he was, in Dragon Age: Origins) as a way to overthrow Anora, instead of truly being King Cailan Theirin's half brother. The exact quote of his rambling has not yet been recorded.

- The phrase "The truth is out there" pronounced by the Talkative man is a reference of the science fiction series The X-Files, where this phrase comes up regularly throughout the series and became the slogan.
- The mentions of "lyrium in the water" and women trying to "steal my life essence" is a reference to General Jack D. Ripper from Dr. Strangelove.
