Walkthrough
If Anders is in your party, just walk into the clinic and turn around and talk to him, or go to the back of the room where he is standing.
This is a simple conversation, but it proves to be the first opportunity to establish a friendship or rivalry and take the initial step on the road to forging a more intimate relationship with the troublesome mage.
Result
For the highest possible friendship pick, "It happens a lot." > "You did the right thing." and when he asks if he is making you uncomfortable pick -
Male Hawke - "The better question is, am I making you uncomfortable?"(something like that - third response, has heart icon); male character should follow with "I'm sorry.", and end the conversation with "That's horrible." Possible friendship points: 15
Female Hawke - "It's...unexpected." or "No." followed by, "Hurt me?" leads to friendship +10
The first aggressive option ("Don't do it again.") precludes future relationships and leads to high rivalry increase.
