Impossible to steal?

PC version 1.04 - the moment you enter the doorway leading to the part of the tavern the seneschal is at, you immediately trigger a dialogue with one of the guards there. I didn't check all conversation options, but as far as I can tell the outcomes are either you get discovered (and thus trigger combat), or you leave. Can anyone confirm whether you're able to talk you way in and then have everyone ignore you, enabling you to steal the crown? - 210.195.200.212 (talk) 06:58, January 19, 2014 (UTC)

Anyone know how long this (and other Crim Wave quest items) are supposed to stay in your inventory? Finished the quests now and I still have it in there.

Confused me too for a second. They aren't quest items, they're generic items. The quest is just to steal it, you're not stealing it for Slim. He just sold you the information so that you could steal it for yourself.
