Are you sure about not having any rewards? I got a freeze bomb off his body.
- What happened to the reappearance info? Seems odd that the article doesn't say anything about it, and doubly so that he's in the Ghouls category without any explanation... 71.231.134.235 03:35, April 20, 2010 (UTC)
Tamlen Rewards
In our current playthrough Tamlen gave us an item when he appeared in the gauntlet. When speaking with the guardian we chose "Yes, I could have pulled him away from the mirror" then when speaking with Tamlen chose "Is that really you?" then "Yes, I know I'll never see you again" (or something along those lines). We're not quite sure what he gave us but there's no mention of it here or on any of the Urn of Sacred Ashes / The Gauntlet pages Jmjimmy (talk) 05:04, January 8, 2011 (UTC)

The name of Tamlen
The name strongly reminds me of a Scottish Folklore of a young man named Tam Lin, who was taken hostage by the Fairyqueen and could only be rescued by his true love. More can be found here: [1]
Tamlen 'romance'
The trigger for the Tamlen 'romance' is the player choosing the dialogue option 'I wanted to be with you, of course.' That dialogue should only be available to female player characters, as it is flagged with a gender check:

Tamlen's follow-up line ('I... thought that might be the case. I'm glad.') sets the BED_TAMLEN_PC_LOVE flag which in turn triggers ghoul!Tamlen's declaration of love. as well as Ashalle's 'That's awful. I know how much you and the lad care for each other. It was always my hope that you two... well, let's not dwell on it.' and Master Ilen's I know you and Tamlen were... very close, da'len. This must be difficult, indeed.' lines.
While there is at least one community mod [2] which removes the gender flag to make the 'I wanted to be with you' option available to male Mahariels, it should not appear to male player characters in a vanilla game. -- Theskymoves (talk) 12:38, June 19, 2016 (UTC)
