Sylvans cannot be only the result of possession of trees. The article on the Grand Oak refers to him being possessed by a spirit, but not specifically a demon, and the codex entry on wild sylvans says "other, more intelligent" spirits are capable of tree-possession. –Tajik24 03:24, November 22, 2009 (UTC)
Sylvans, Abominations[]
I think that sylvas are in fact abominations since a spirit or demon possess them. Subsequently I am not sure why the "Abominations" category was removed. 17:38, August 17, 2013 (UTC)
- This is a long standing confusion which I'm trying to clear. The abominations are living beings with magical abilities possessed by demons. Plants, rocks, corpses, non-mages possessed by demons, and anything possessed by spirits are not abominations in the strict sense. In the broad sense, dead mages and mages possessed by benevolent spirits are considered abominations by some, but that's it. The necessary references are provided on the updated Abomination page. – mostlyautumn • talk • contribs • 17:42, August 17, 2013 (UTC)
