Bug on Rapid AimEdit
Is the best bug ever. Though it almost feels like a cheat, eh? If you have these gloves, wear them; you can use your Aim buff completely free of attack speed penalty. It's way imbalanced... But fun! ~ Novawolf (talk) 15:44, June 5, 2010 (UTC)
item id Edit
I couldn't find the item ID for these gloves anywhere else, so I used the toolset and figured it out. You will need to have RtO (obviously), an additem script from DA nexus (http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1131), and an enabled console to use this to add repeater gloves to your inventory.
runscript additem kcc_im_arm_glv_lgt_spd.uti 1
IMO, playing an archer character without these gloves is pointless because of the related bugs and awful archery mechanics in the game.
Is This a Bug? Edit
Are we certain the -3.0 seconds on this is a bug? It seems that they may have realized how badly archery was faring and decided to add the repeater gloves to make archery more viable. They did it again in Awakening by adding the skill Accuracy.
In addition, look at the name, "Repeater Gloves". That seems to indicate these gloves are intended to make your archery very fast. Also, if they are supposed to be -0.3s rapid aim, they'd be underpowered relative to a lot of the other gear found in Return to Ostagar.
rapid aim stacking Edit
a contributer claimed on this page that the rapid aim bonus doesn't stack, I however think they do stack. Here is how the system works: the attack speed depends on 2 different times
- base time: only affected by type of chest armor, does not depend on the type of bow or any rapid aim bonuses.
- aim time: can not be smaller than 0, depends on the weapon: shortbow has 0.2 sec aim time, longbow has 0.3 sec and crossbow has 0.8 sec. This time is also affected by rapid aim bonuses and penalty's (e.g. Aim).
this aim time minimum of 0sec explains why some people think rapid aim doesn't stack or repeater gloves don't have a -3.0 sec rapid aim, because afer a single bonus they have reached the minimum and any further bonuses don't seem to have effect. If you try it with Aim active you will see the difference (tested on ultimate edition PC, steam version).--Schrödingercat (talk) 13:36, December 18, 2011 (UTC)
