Maximum possible?[]

What's the highest amount of +attack speed possible with this rune? The most i found was 37% on many act 3 with weapons like Bloom or The Celebrant.

It seems to me, that 50% or 60% is the max +attack speed you can get, is this true? I tested it with 2 of these runes on Bloom and a mage casting haste, but the attack animation did not increase further for my character. Zarathustra01 (talk) 09:22, March 30, 2011 (UTC)

The maximum possible bonus for the rune would probably be on a five star weapon at level 50 (someone could always try it on Bianca / Fadeshear Sword at level 50?). But with the current non-leveling-up items I believe 37% is the maximum I've seen for this rune. As for the attack speed cap, I had Authorized Biographer, Embellishment, Well-oiled, Speed, Lightning Speed on Varric which adds up to +60% attack speed and I really couldn't tell a difference when Haste was activated. Can you somewhere ingame see your current attack speed? Zarathustra01 (talk) 09:26, April 4, 2011 (UTC)

Increasing attack speed raises probability of critical hits[]

" Individually, these bonuses tend to be small and often negligible. But if your character has abilities that enhance attack speed or companions who provide a speed buff, the cumulative effect can be worth pursuing. Increasing attack speed raises the probability of critical hits." -souce: Dragon Age 2 Official game guide pg. 192 So can we assume that it is safe to say that it increases the chance of critical hits in the note section? (Sports72Xtrm (talk) 10:35, June 18, 2014 (UTC))

"Critical chance" usually refers to the chance that an individual hit would be critical. I'm ok with the current (reworded) version of the note. – mostlyautumntalkcontribs • 11:01, June 18, 2014 (UTC)
I don't agree with that version of the note. For me it doesn't make any sense or is redundant. As much as I understand it says, that this rune increases the CritChance, which is good for rogues who have anyway a high CritChance, because it heightens it!?!? I put it here for now until someone can explain to me, that it's good to be left on the page or rephrases it. Oh, hi again, Alex …
  • The increase attack speed increases the chances of critical hits. Very useful for rogues with high dexterity which have a high critical hit rate; thus increasing frequency of critical hits."
