I tried every combination of conversation option and didn't get +friendship or +rivalry from talking to Merrill during this quest. I am playing on the PS3 if that makes a difference?

Neither did I, I reloaded until I had every option exhausted. I also haven't gotten any friendship or rivalry points from her previous personal conversation, but I thought it was just me. Not so in this case, no options yielded anything. I am on the PC, so this isn't a platform-exclusive issue. --Z.S.-- (talk) 23:29, March 21, 2011 (UTC)
Haven't found any combination that changes friendship or rivalry either on PC. Spounge84 23:38, March 28, 2011 (UTC)

Reference Edit

Is it possible that when Merril says that people mostly drop garbage, it's a reference to the amount of crappy loot enemies drop when you kill them? --FluffyWelshCake (talk) 10:19, July 7, 2011 (UTC)

That's one possibility. Then again, it could also be a reference to the sort of junk folks leave in the barrels and crates. While it's possible to get a decent but of loot from those, 99% of the time it will be a couple of coins and a 'vendor trash' item. A third possibility would be that since folks in Lowtown are very poor, they don't have much to actually drop - so anything they drop would be garbage. (talk) 21:31, July 13, 2012 (UTC)
