Do we want to redirect His Dour Lordship to Marquis of Alyons, or rename this page His Dour Lordship and redirect Marquis of Alyons to it? :Fair enough. And fitting username, haha. However, I believe the Shame and his wife would have had to have had their own child. The reason he got rid of the Anchoress is because she's a bastard, and the Marquis is definitely related to the Shame. Since he only had one daughter, his bastard, that would mean he had a son with his wife.

Name[]

Do we want to redirect His Dour Lordship to Marquis of Alyons, or rename this page His Dour Lordship and redirect Marquis of Alyons to it? I only ask because in game His Dour Lordship is much more prevalent, and it's more inline with the other characters. --CodeDeepBlue (talk) 22:10, November 26, 2014 (UTC)

Quote[]

The quote, while perhaps apropos, is from the Shame of Serault, who would have died long before the present Marquis of Alyons ruled.--CodeDeepBlue (talk) 03:48, November 28, 2014 (UTC)

Familial relation to the Marquis[]

The Marquis of Alyons from when the Shame was still alive married off his daughter to the Shame. Wouldn't that suggest that the current Marquis of Alyons and Serault are related, even if distantly? I'd guess third or forth cousins once removed. Not closely related enough to put in the family section, but perhaps in trivia. StillAlive (talk) 15:37, December 8, 2014 (UTC)

Not necessarily. Alyons could have passed to another family since that time or the Marquis of Alyons could be descended from a different branch. Or the marriage between the shame and his wife could have failed to produce heirs and children from a different marriage inherited. Its just too vague. -Damnyourtorturedlogic (talk) 15:39, December 8, 2014 (UTC)

Fair enough.

I noticed the familial relation section, too, and this is something I've wondered about as well. The wording is vague in the conversation the two Marquis can have about it. His Dour Lordship doesn't call the Shame his grandfather, though, so I doubt his parent was the Shame's child. (My guess is that the Shame's line came from a previous marriage, and the Alyons line came from a later remarriage on Chauvette's part.)
