I changed the wording on this page. I don’t believe the developers have told us why the Magisters were attempting to enter the Golden City. At most, we have hints that like the Tower of Babel in the Bible, the Chantry sees this as proof of man’s hubris. Maria Caliban 01:42, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

I'm a little confused what is meant by "The Chantry teaches that a group of magisters managed to physically enter the Fade and the Golden City of the Maker. Instead, it was corrupted, which led to the creation of the darkspawn." No where does it state what was supposed to happen "Instead," of the Golden City becoming corrupted and the creation of the darkspawn. Should this perhaps be changed? I changed the wording to "As a result, it was corrupted, which led to the creation of the darkspawn. " --Celestial Wurm 13:45, 19 April 2009 (UTC)

Corypheus should be hidden behind spoilers, because mentioning his name on this page, and even giving out details, spoils quite a bit of Legacy. (talk) 15:45, September 7, 2011 (UTC)

Are magisters an exclusively Tevinter thing? The Orlesian Mage Warden can start with the Robes of the Orlesian Magister, which leads me to believe Orlais uses the title too. EightDeer (talk) 03:01, July 8, 2012 (UTC)

Renaming the page from "Magister" to "Magisters" Edit

As this page features a group of people who share the same title/rank, I think it's more appropriate to rename the page to it's plural form (while still keeping a redirect from "Magister") much like other groups do such as the Grey Wardens. Viktoria Landers 12:48, December 3, 2012 (UTC)

Neutral, since I tend to favor singular use over plural (it's an editing preference). Either works I think, but if there's not much feedback, the page can be renamed to its plural form. ··· D-day sig d·day! 23:50, December 5, 2012 (UTC)
Done. Viktoria Landers 15:15, April 3, 2013 (UTC)

non-mage relative of magister Edit

Does anybody knows, what happens to family members of magisters, who are born as non-mages? (talk) 14:40, October 19, 2013 (UTC)StubbornMageSlayer

Pretty sure they are treated with the respect of Laetan class but can act no less than a Sporati: They can own property, join the Tevinter army, maybe act as a high ranking officer second only to a magister, act as merchant, but no say in governance. They'll depend on their mage relatives for political pull if they're favored in such a way. (Sports72Xtrm (talk) 14:50, October 19, 2013 (UTC))
