Stealing Edit

I always tried to pick his pockets and it always failed, even with the highest level. He says "you are now relying on petty thievery, pathetic" (or something similar). But I thought a failed attempt would trigger the "steal templar" encounter with the templars and the conscripted mage. It never happened. Am I just out of luck or is it not the right way to trigger this encounter ?Croquignol 17:58, February 3, 2010 (UTC)

I can't answer your question, only feel your pain! I too have tried and failed to trigger the templar stealing encounter. Though, and I may be imagining this, I do think I have managed to steal from Greagoir. I think I (or rather Leliana) managed it whilst stealthed and with fourth-level stealing. I think my problem was pick-pocketing from Irving after finishing Broken Circle - even stealthed and with four ranks of stealing, it would always fail and Greagoir would give the spiel you mention above. Using the console command to give a temp boost to cunning, I have managed to steal from him. (lvl 3 steal with 100 cunning, lol) It was a random item, I think it a greater ice slave. On a side note, stealing frmo the quater master makes him say the same lines, if you get caught 202.156.10.249 20:45, April 15, 2010 (UTC)

I have certainly been able to steal from the Knight-Commander (Level 4 stealing, not a great deal of cunning around 20 or so I think). It took a few tries but it is possible! - Drake —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.92.40.49 (talk) 12:01, 18 October 2010‎
