|This is the talk page for discussing improvements to the Gaspard de Chalons article.|
Recently BioWare released a few new screenshots and several moodboards, including one for Orlais. Next to the Empress in the image (here) there is a man, and I highly suspect this is actually Gaspard. What's the best way to get a direct answer from BioWare regarding this? :) henioo (da talk page) 07:44, September 26, 2014 (UTC)
- Yeah I spotted that too & wondered the same thing. I'm still not totally convinced that is Empress Celene or Gaspard though because Celene looks quite different from the cover of the Masked Empire. I'm not sure its Gaspard either because the figure is wearing almost the exact same armour as Duke Prosper in this concept art. Regarding asking Bioware, the quickest way to get the highest chance of success would probably be to ask the writers via twitter and I know David Gaider, the lead writer, has a tumblr which he answers fan questions on fairly frequently. You might also want to try asking Matt Rhodes the concept artist on twitter too. Posting a thread on the Bioware forums would also be a good idea.
- That's probably a Duke's armour, then, on both of them, and the slight differences are what makes one a Grand Duke over just a Duke. However, there is a possibility that these two are just an example of a monarch and a noble man of Orlais, but it is also possible they are actually Celene and Gaspard. Not today, but when I get a minute or two free, I will try to reach out to BW, though I do not have a Tweeter account and my last attempt at getting answers from BW at their forums (about royal women taking the Theirin name) didn't go far. Maybe tumblr. At any rate, if I learn anything, I will post it on the page. If I don't that means I was too lazy to do something about it or I never got the answer. ;) henioo (da talk page) 08:13, September 26, 2014 (UTC)
- Well we'll find out eventually when Inquisition comes out one way or another I suppose.
Ehamloptiran from the modding tool team has created a mod which shows Gaspard without his mask. Are modded images allowed on the wiki? If yes, it should probably be shown here. --188.8.131.52 (talk) 15:22, January 29, 2015 (UTC)
The page states Gaspard was born in 8:74 Blessed (without a citation.) This seems unlikely, since he'd be in his late 60s by the events of Inquisition. It's not out of the question that this was officially listed as his birthyear somewhere, since there tends to be timeline discrepancies, but can someone verify this?
