Fire trap[]
I'm having trouble finding the fire trap. I get the message "Trap Detected" but I don't see it on the bridge so i can't disarm it.
- Did your rogue detect it, or did Leliana? Select the character that detected it, then pause as if you were going to select a target. Cycle through the targets available until one of them is the trap. Click on it and your rogue will go get it. I usually have everyone hold position other than the rogue, so I don't accidentally set off a trap with another character. This technique work very well where there are a lot of traps, like the random encounter where you are attacked by wolves, or the one where you are in a field of traps, surrounded by darkspawn. Leliana detected it. How do you cycle through targets? Hold tab and find it? Also, what kind of trap is it? Trip wire or pressure plate? I don't see ANY trap.
I had no problems with this trap when I was playing on the 360 but on the PC I see the label for the trap trigger but can't find the actual spot to click to disarm. Anyone? Millahnna (talk) 10:29, January 26, 2011 (UTC)
UPDATE: I finally found a successful combination of google keywords to get more info on this particular trap. It seems that the pressure plate (PC version, console version it's a tripwire) is buried too far under the ground for us to interact with it. The old mod Qwinn's fixpack fixed this but that mod is no longer updated, apparently, and has many conflicts with other mods (the Alistair, Zevran, and Morrigan dialogue fixes in particular, as I recall). Some details in this thread here. Search the page for "Now, for some more trap bugs" and you should find it. To sum up, unless someone else has duplicated that portion of Qwinn's efforts, we PC users are out of luck with that trap. Millahnna (talk) 17:31, January 26, 2011 (UTC)
Strategy[]
This encounter can be rather difficult if you just storm in, instead of controlling the crowd. If you have a good mage, you can make this encounter much easier on yourself. Immobilize the assassin leader with a Crushing Prison, or Force Field, then Mana Clash the witch on the other side of the bridge. Using a Mind Blast on the Qunari assassin also helps everyone get into proper position while navigating this narrow stretch. Once your mage has this accomplished, the rest of the encounter is much, much easier. LVTDUDE (talk) 19:28, December 4, 2010 (UTC)
