Passing thought[]

I was just thinking that now we have a variety of games and media it might be worth making this a page on the Dragon Age series. Friendship smallLoleil Talk 07:23, July 11, 2010 (UTC)

Characters revived[]

I don't know if they explain why Leliana and Oghren were revived regardless of the player character's choices. I remember reading that Oghren said it was a dream or something in Awakening, though I can't verify that... thus the vague "without further explanation" part. --D. I believe Leliana simply says that it was "not yet her time" or something along those lines. Chantry symbol King Cousland | Talk   00:21, December 22, 2011 (UTC)
Leliana may only die inside the ruins holding the Urn of Andraste's ashes, which I remind you had incredible healing powers. It's not unthinkable to think she could come back to life in the presence of such power, be it from the ashes or the enormous power of the lyrium veins in the temple (which Ohgren will mention as being incredibly pure even by dwarven standards).
Oghren can only die in the epilogue, which, as stated many times, does not necessary mean that 'is' what happened, that is simply what is being said. It is of course possible he did survive anyhow and simply left. Sen4lifE (talk) 08:20, August 3, 2013 (UTC)

Different name[]

I suggest to rename this page on "Dragon Age (series)", so nobody would have any doubt that's not a name of era or any game.FirstDrellSpectre (talk) 22:50, January 21, 2014 (UTC)

Well there are no games named just "Dragon Age" and the time period page has "(Time period)" attached to the title so I don't think there would be too much confusion if someone is looking for something else. Ravenfirelight (talk) 23:05, January 21, 2014 (UTC)
On the top of the page it there is the "Dragon Age (disambiguation)" link. I think that is clear enough. Na via lerno victoria 05:53, January 22, 2014 (UTC)
Disambiguations are added to separate articles when needed, not to state what the article is about. ··· D-day sig d·day! 01:31, January 23, 2014 (UTC)

Chronological Order[]

We really need some references on chronological order, or maybe to specify the date (or approximate date) of each entry. My observations:

  • Dragon Age Journeys: A human noble PC is doing business for King Maric, so Journeys must be set somewhere from 9:02-9:25 (when Maric is king). The king of Orzammar (unnamed) is planning to retake Bownammar (the Dead Trenches), which fell for the last time in 9:13, so my estimate would be a few years either side of 9:13. Since the first issue of the IDW comic is set in 9:13 at the latest (more on that later), I've moved Journeys to be after that (it was previously after Origins, which definitely isn't right). I put it before the Penny Arcade comic, which is a guess, but seems reasonable: The comic is presumably depicting the events described in WoT2 p82, which is 'a number of years' prior to 9:20. To me, that seems like it's probably later than 9:13. Technically, these three entries (IDW comic, Journeys, Penny Arcade comic) could be in any order, but I've gone with what feels right with the info I've got.
  • IDW comic: Greagoir is my main point of reference. I'm not sure if he's ever directly referred to as Knight-Commander in the comic, but he's definitely the go-to authority in Kinloch Hold, which puts the events of the first issue within the Dragon Age, at least. The second issue (and all others) are set 17 years later and are (presumably?) prior to the Blight, so the first issue could really be anywhere from 9:00-9:13. For the sake of this list, it's possible that it takes place before The Calling, although I think it makes more sense to leave it where it is. Also, since the majority of the series takes place 17 years later, would it make sense to add a second entry between Dawn of the Seeker and Origins with the issue numbers labeled?
  • DLC: Awakening is included on this list, but Origins has other separate DLC (Leliana's Song; Golems of Amgarrak; Witch Hunt), as does Inquisition (Trespasser). Should those be included, or should we leave it at just Awakening since it's the largest DLC?

Vegemaybe (talk) 15:44, 13 February 2023 (UTC)

I agree that adding the dates would be useful.
For the DLC, I think DLC that is separate from the main game should be listed as well, especially DLC like Trespasser that has a set date of its own. Evamitchelle (talk) 03:15, 14 February 2023 (UTC)
I also agree that adding dates would be helpful, but date that doesn't come from explicit canon sources should have a disclaimer like "estimated" next to it and a reference/note explaining how exactly it was arrived at (basically, what Vegemaybe posted above). As for the DLC, I would only include those that a) take place in the canon timeline (i.e. not Darkspawn Chronicles) and b) take place outside the time frames of their respective core installments (i.e. not Warden's Keep). Also, their listing should be followed by a note pointing to their respective main game. Thoughts? --Koveras Alvane (talk) 08:35, 14 February 2023 (UTC)
Re:DLC Very much agreed. Basically what I wanted to say but formulated much better. Evamitchelle (talk) 03:09, 15 February 2023 (UTC)
