Clearvoyance? Hints at a future expansion?[]

This is purely speculation but I thought it would be worthy of sharing with other Dragon Age Wiki visitors/contributors:

The Notes of Arl Foreshadow (and my comments)[]

"Books to pursue for future endeavors.

Lost countenance: Ferelden to Orlesian Phrase Book

-Must not offend the potential landlords"

  • It could be a reference to the Orlesian Warden-Commander in Awakening. Or a hint at Morrigan's appearance in Orlais.

"Raising Spirits: Offsprings and the Fade

-Terrible two's indeed!"

  • The Mother's Children (Childer Grubs, Adult Chidren) and the fight against the evil Baroness? Or maybe Morrigan's child (provided that Morrigan's pregnancy carries over as canon into the sequel) will have something do with the Fade? I am inclined to favor the latter interpretation as Morrigan's child will have the 'spirit/soul of an Old God'.

"Forest Fall: Truth and Legend in the Search for Arlathan

-Survivors? Poppycock!"

  • Now this might be interesting. Morrigan said Flemeth's method of prolonging her life was not an option for her as she would need to be an abomination to pursue that path, however, she may try to meddle with a different form of immortality, the secret of which could be preserved by survivors of Arlathan.

In Baldur's Gate Foreshadow hinted at the upcoming Neverwinter Nights games (see Easter Eggs). It would be funny if he stayed true to that tradition. Desyndra 20:12, April 7, 2010 (UTC)

The Dragon Age 2 splash page has the 'Strider' creature, which is associated in-universe with 'the lost, ancient elven culture of Arlathan'. Definitely a reference to DA2 then. Looks like Hawke is about to find out what happened in the lost lands of Arlathan - and it ain't pretty. --John117XL (talk) 19:00, August 19, 2010 (UTC)

I think section Forest Fall: Truth and Legend in the Search for Arlathan is a reference to story of Dragon Age: The Masked Empire, a Dalish clan was searching for their history with help of Imshael and paid ultimate price for this.FirstDrellSpectre (talk) 11:49, April 27, 2014 (UTC)

Now with Dragon Age: Inquisition out we can assume that Forest Fall: Truth and Legend in the Search for Arlathan probably hinted at the return to Arlathan there, rather than a novel. But then, it's all assumptions.--5.150.209.13 (talk) 16:16, November 26, 2014 (UTC)

There were no sequels planned when Origins was in development. Supported by David Gaider. https://www.vg247.com/2015/06/30/dragon-age-origins-team-did-not-expect-to-make-a-sequel/ Dragon Age 2 being pushed less than two years after the release of Origins supports this, with Inon Zur (composer) calling his work on DA2 soundtrack a "rush job". https://www.vg247.com/2011/03/11/dragon-age-ii-on-short-release-to-capitalize-on-the-success-of-origins-says-composer/ Hbh128 (talk) 17:00, January 10, 2018 (UTC)
