Drop Locations:

I was able to get an Assassin Weapon token drop in the Western Approach. This was before I had even entered Crestwood. I also received another Assassin weapon once I did enter Crestwood, but nowhere near the spots marked on the map, so it is possible to get them elsewhere. I have also found 2 of the 3 required tokens without entering Crestwood or even the Western Approach as the above poster did. I believe I found both in the Exalted Plains.--Wsowen02 (talk) 00:34, December 18, 2014 (UTC)

Assassin's Creed? Edit

Why is the "Hidden Blades" term mentioned as being a nod to Assassin's Creed? Isn't an assassin carrying a hidden blade common enough?

Assassin Guild Leader Tokens (Confusion on item collection) Edit

In the journal, it says that 3 Assassin Guild Leader Tokens are required. The recipe in the inventory says 3 Assassin weapons are required, which matches what shows at the requisitions table. Assassin weapons drop from lurker type enemies, which can be found in the east side of the Hinterlands. Could these be two different items, that are somehow both satisfying the quest requirements? It would explain why some people are saying that they have the items necessary without having been to Crestwood. I'm one of them, by the way. When I go to the requisitions table it says I have 1/3 assassin weapons, and I haven't even unlocked Crestwood yet. Journal also says that I have 1/3 Assassin Guild Leader Tokens. --TubbyM0ph0 (talk) 07:15, December 25, 2014 (UTC)

Never-mind, I see now. But still, assassin weapons dropped by ANY prowler type enemies will work, so it's not necessary to kill the guild leaders in Crestwood. --TubbyM0ph0 (talk) 06:10, December 28, 2014 (UTC)
Confirmed. The "tokens" can be collected from Lyrium Smuggler Lurkers that spawn near the Forest Camp in the Southwestern Hinterlands long before unlocking access to Crestwood. This renders the listed walkthrough which insists the item drops are exclusively from Crestwood and Valamaar both inaccurate and overly complex. The section would benefit from a clean up and update. ---- (talk) 08:38, January 3, 2015 (UTC)
The information is still good to have. From my experience, the assassin weapon drop rate is really low. Recently, I went into Crestwood for the sole purpose of killing one of them because I couldn't get a lurker to drop an assassin weapon while in the Hinterlands (I had 2/3 before starting the specialization quest). It made me wonder if, while the quest is active, no other enemies can drop assassin weapons.--TubbyM0ph0 (talk) 09:03, January 3, 2015 (UTC)
