Storvacker Caged is a main quest from the Jaws of Hakkon DLC for Dragon Age: Inquisition.
The Avvar hold-beast has vanished. Thane Svarah Sun-Hair cannot in good conscience fight the Jaws of Hakkon until the bear is returned.
Acquisition[]
The quest is received after talking to Thane Svarah Sun-Hair in Stone-Bear Hold in the Frostback Basin.
Walkthrough[]
- Speak with the Avvar villagers to find out where the bear might be.
- Search the valley for the bear. The cave is located at the north end of the swamp.
- Explore the Cave
- Free the Bear
- Tell Svarah Sun-Hair that the bear is free.
From Stone-Bear Hold, travel north past the Swampside camp into the swamp proper. In the northern part of the swamp a large cage on a broken cart can be found with several dead Hakkonites around it. Farther north the entrance to an abandoned Tevinter jail can be found in the northern hill. Storvacker can be found within, in the central cell but first the Hakkonites inside must be dealt with. A 2-Handed Hakkonite Bruiser, a Hakkonite 1-handed sword warrior and two Hakkonite bowmen guard the jail. Once they have been removed, there are a number of cell doors which can only be opened by a Rogue with the Deft Hands, Fine Tools perk. The left most door contains a Scepter of Razikale, while the rightmost has a Master Belt of Grenades. The other cells contain random loot chests, except for the second right which has one of the codex entries needed for They Came From Somewhere Else. Once the Jail has been plundered, open Storvacker's cell by pulling the lever and head back out of the Jail.
At the entrance another group of Hakkonites has arrived and discovered the Inquisitor is trying to free their 'sacrifice' and will attack on sight. The Hakkonite re-enforcements consist of a 2-Handed Hakkonite Bruiser, a Hakkonite Tower Shield Defender and two Hakkonite Bowmen. Once the last of the Hakkonites are dead, return to Stone-Bear Hold and speak with Svarah Sun-Hair.
Rewards[]
- 18274 XP
Bugs[]
- This quest can become glitched if you flip the switch before killing all enemies leaving the switch and gate down and unusable. The bug can be subverted by creating a permanent save file (not quick or auto) and then loading it. In rare cases, an auto save will fix the lever depending on when the auto save file was created.
