Still Waters is a side quest in Dragon Age: Inquisition.

Undead have terrorized Crestwood since a Fade rift appeared in the lake. There must be a way to close it.

Acquisition

Automatically obtained when the Inquisitor first travels to Crestwood. This quest serves as an introduction to Crestwood and is a significant quest plot in that area.

Walkthrough

Travel to the Village of Crestwood and destroy the undead attacking at the town gates then speak with Crestwood's mayor Gregory Dedrick to obtain access to the keep where the dam controls are located.

Complete Capturing Caer Bronach and once the keep has been captured, enter the door to the right of the merchant and keep going down the path outside the keep. On the dam is the Rusted Horn tavern which houses the dam controls to drain the lake. Note that Codex entry: The First Blight: Chapter One is located on the top floor which grants 150 XP.

Proceed to Old Crestwood (located south of North Gate Camp) and enter the Flooded Caves. Make sure you speak to the Wraith in Old Crestwood first to obtain the Burdens of Command quest which is completed in the same location. You may also wish to visit the Mayor's Old Home which is found south of the caves. Entering the house triggers some dialogue with your companions and you will find a scrap of paper which grants 150 XP (see Gallery).

Note: If you enter the Flooded Caves and close the Fade Rift, Jana can't be recruited anymore as an agent.

On the deepest tier of the caves through a locked door on the left side of the dwarven corridor you will find a note called The Lost Outpost Plaque and Codex entry: Paragons Known and Lesser Known, both of which grant 150 XP. The note is shown in the Gallery.

Destroy the Fade rift in the Flooded Caves then return to the Crestwood village to speak with the mayor again. Find his letter on his desk to complete the quest.

Note: You could kill the Nugs at the end of the Flooded Caves for Approval Changes (see Approval).
