Speak to Fenris is a companion quest in Dragon Age II that is obtained automatically at the start of Act 2.

Walkthrough

Visit Fenris at his mansion. Then you'll encounter a cutscene with he and Isabela (or Aveline, if Isabela betrayed you in Act 2) discussing something in regards to a tax collector not coming by again thanks to something she's done. She begins to offer the story behind it but Fenris will decline listening and Isabela will call him a "spoilsport" and inquire why he continues to squat in the mansion in Hightown. Fenris will simply answer "I like the view." Isabela will hit on him then exit, winking at Hawke on the way out.

As Hawke sits down with Fenris he'll state it's been three years and still no signs of Danarius and ponders if the mage has given up. Hawke can reply any of the following seemingly without friendship or rival points, but if Hawke replies with the funny option you'll see a small smirk appear on Fenris' normally broody face.

  • "Hopefully he has."
  • "Disappointed."
  • "Go after him."

Fenris will then ask "What do you do when you stop running?" Once again Hawke can seem to reply anything without positive or negative hits.

Fenris will state that his first memories are from having the lyrium branded into his flesh, but remembers nothing of his prior life. He'll then state he shouldn't be troubling Hawke with these issues as they are not Hawke's problems.
