Something Wicked is a side quest in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
Acquisition[]
Acquired automatically after completing the main quest Fire and Ice.
Walkthrough[]
Wardens Antoine and Evka are eager to learn more about the blight, but their studies are interrupted by a looming threat.
Meet with Evka and Antoine[]
Talk with Evka and Antoine in Grey Hold to learn about a suspiciously coordinated darkspawn attack coming towards Lavendel and Evka's plan to combat them.
Check on the Warden sentries[]
Talk to the three Warden sentries on duty to check that they're ready for the incoming darkspawn attack. The sentries are Wardens Jaynie and Rhodri at the Lavendel Barricade (north-east) by the farmlands, Warden Greta by the Blighted Tunnel (south), and Warden Augustin by the Sheltered Glade (north-west).
Check back with Evka[]
Meet back with Evka at the stairs to Grey Hold to start the attack.
Protect Lavendel[]
Head north-east and defeat multiple waves of darkspawn. Heal up and grab extra potions then move on. The wardens by the Blighted Tunnel have their situation under control so checking in with them is optional, but there are extra potions if needed. Head to the gates and defeat the horde there. Here is a ballista to use, if so desired.
When the horde is worn down to a certain point, Evka and Antoine will join the fight, triggering a cutscene where the darkspawn are defeated. As the group recovers Antoine is seemingly distant and disoriented as he is captivated with a strange "song" from the blight that only he hears. If Rook is a Grey Warden they will say that the blight indeed felt "weird" but didn't.
After the attack the scene transitions back to Grey Hold where Antonine says he stills hears the "song" whispering to him, and that they will study the changes to the blight. Rook is encouraged to check back with them later to see the progress.
Rewards[]
Completing the quest yields:
- 1750 XP
- 300 Grey Wardens Strength
- 300 Gold
- 2 Dragonfire Catalyst
- Griffon Great Helm
- Increased bond with companions taken on quest
- Lawrence (maul appearance), if Rook is a warrior
Results[]
The Grey Wardens have taken some terrible blows, but they won't allow blight to cover the world. Hoping to save the Hossberg Wetlands from destruction, Antoine and Evka want to learn more about the blight's strange new behaviour.
A darkspawn horde moves through the Hossberg Wetlands, drawn toward the village of Lavendel - the last safe haven for life in this blighted place. But hope's not yet lost: Evka has a plan. It's time to get ready and fight.
Thanks to Evka's plan and the bravery of both the Wardens and the team, Lavendel was saved from darkspawn. But while the village heaved a sigh of relief, the whispers in Antoine's ear became more unsettling. Within the blight, Antoine could hear a call. A mystery for now, it suggested further evil lurking in the Wetlands.
- Lavendel protected from darkspawn attack
- Evka and Antoine start researching the changed calling in the blight
Approval[]
- Davrin's bond increases from defeating the darkspawn at each location.

- (Assertive) Damn it!
- [Rook is Shadow Dragon] People come first! - Bellara Approves

- (Stoic) Let's get this done.
After the attack[]
- They still need our protection, of course. But we won this fight together! - No changes
- (Diplomatic) You made this happen.
- (Humorous) Wish we could celebrate more.
- (Stoic) It's not enough.
- Likely nothing good.
- (Diplomatic) Are you okay?
- (Humorous) Did you say it sounds pleased?
- (Stoic) Now what?
- (Alarmed) Stop listening to the blight.
- (Veil Jumper) You've a dangerous task ahead.
- (Antivan Crow) You don't have a clear target. - Lucanis Approves
