Shadows of Minrathous is a main quest in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

Acquisition[]

This quest is received automatically after completing Friends in Hidden Places.

Walkthrough[]

Rook seeks out the Shadow Dragons in Minrathous while hoping for news on the elven gods.

Find the Shadow Dragons in Dock Town[]

Head to Dock Town using the Crossroads or fast travel.

Get information[]

Talk to the Viper, Ashur, in the Shadow Dragons hideout where he'll inform the team that darkspawn have been causing trouble in the Anvallenim, a secret passage that has been used to help free elven slaves. He'll request the team's assistance in clearing it out.

Investigate the Anvallenim[]

Exit the Shadow Dragon's hideout and find the tunnel entrance outside by heading South and taking a right down an alley. Interact with the snake-themed wall sculpture to access the hidden entrance. A short distance in, the path is blocked by inactive blight; destroy the boil in the room nearby to activate it and then cut through to continue on your path. In the next room, drop down and deal with a group of Venatori and some darkspawn coming from the nearby blight pools. Grab the contents of the chest in a room at the far end of the chamber, then destroy the blight blocking your path out.

Return to the Shadow Dragons[]

Follow the path back up through the tunnels, only stopping to grab a memento hidden behind a breakable wall of wood, until reaching the door back to the hideout. Speak to Ashur to report the Venatori attack and coordination with the darkspawn. Tarquin will offer a piece of intel about Venatori activity in a warehouse that may be a lead.

Investigate Venatori activity at the warehouse[]

Head North through the Central Market and take the elevator down to the Smuggler's Dock. Eliminate the group of Venatori in the area and check the door to the warehouse to find it locked. Head around to the East side of the building, destroy the barrier crystal, and fight the Venatori guard in the alley before heading up the ladder to the roof.

Use the rooftop entrance to drop into the warehouse after taking care of the two Venatori mages guarding it. In the next room, head down the stairs and break some boxes leading to a storage area and then break the wooden barrier leading into a stairwell. Drop down into the stairwell that leads down to a room where a ritual is being performed to control darkspawn. Once the Venatori have been taken care of, grab the contents of the chest in this room and then search the warehouse for evidence. There are three notes scattered around the ritual room and a floor drain to be investigated. Once that is completed, the warehouse door will unlock and the Viper will be waiting outside. Speak to him to let him know what was uncovered.

Return to the Shadow Dragons[]

Once back at the hideout, speak to Ashur again. Now that it has been confirmed the Venatori are working with Elgar'nan and Ghilan'nain, the Shadow Dragons are planning their next steps. Maevaris joins the conversation and establishes herself as one of the leaders of the Shadow Dragons and a former magister. She'll inform you that the First Warden is waiting at The Cobbled Swan to speak regarding the blight. Before you set out, Maevaris asks you to come back when you can as they'll still need your help.

Rewards[]

  • 3,750 XP
  • Battle Robes - Common Medium Armor
  • Knight's Sword - Common Appearance (Warrior Rook only)
  • +400 Shadow Dragons strength
  • Increased bond with Neve and other companion

Results[]

Rook has sought out the Shadow Dragons in hopes of gaining information about the elven gods, but the rebels have problems of their own. Their Dock Town refuge is under attack from darkspawn, and they need Rook's assistance.

The Venatori serve the risen gods, who have given the cultists magic that grants them control over darkspawn. The cult's influence and power spreads, which means trouble for Minrathous and the world beyond.
