Shadows of Ancient Arlathan is the second main quest in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
Acquisition[]
This quest is received automatically after reaching the Lighthouse.
Walkthrough[]
After stopping Solas's ritual, the team must investigate his claim that ancient, blighted gods have been released into the world.
Check in with Neve or Harding[]
Leave the library through the main door to find yourself in an area of the Fade known as the Lighthouse. After a brief talk with Neve or Harding (the quest will point to whoever wasn't injured in the ritual), you have a chance to explore the Lighthouse before gathering the team at the library table. You may also speak with whoever wasn't injured.
Gather the team at the library table[]
Before gathering the team, Rook has the option of talking to Neve and Harding to talk about the current situation and their future plans. At the library table, Rook tells the team that Solas talked to them in a dream, informing them that disrupting his ritual released Elgar'nan and Ghilan'nain, two of the tyrannical, blighted Evanuris. Somewhat doubtful of Solas's claims, the team decides to return to the site of ritual to investigate the situation.
Head downstairs to find a massive eluvian that takes you directly back to Arlathan Forest.
Investigate Solas's ritual site[]
As they reach Arlathan Forest, the team is interrupted by the arrival of a group of Veil Jumpers, Strife, Irelin and Tarith, under attack by a magical sentinel. Tarith is injured when Irelin fails to deactivate the sentinel, though Strife eventually destroys the artifact powering the sentinel. Harding recognizes Strife and Irelin from a previous adventure, and informs them of Solas's claim that Elgar'nan and Ghilan'nain have been released. Strife and Irelin believe that it would explain the magical disturbances in Arlathan Forest and tell Rook to go find Bellara Lutare, their expert on ancient magical artifacts. Whoever was injured in the ritual stays behind with the Veil Jumpers while Rook and the other companion head in search of Bellara.
Results[]
The team stopped Solas from tearing down the Veil, trapping him in the Fade. However, Solas insists that sabotaging his ritual unleashed malevolent elven gods named Elgar'nan and Ghilan'nain. Though wary, the team can't afford to ignore his warning; they must hunt for signs that dangerous gods stalk the land.
