Shades of the Blight is a main quest in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

Acquisition[]

This quest is acquired automatically after both Where the Dead Must Go and The Dragon Slayer have been completed.

Walkthrough[]

The team pursues leads that reveal disturbing information about the spread of the blight, but also gains some unexpected aid.

Meet Morrigan at the Cobbled Swan[]

Travel to the Cobbled Swan in Dock Town and speak with Harding to begin the conversation. Morrigan has brought the Inquisitor to speak with Rook. The Inquisitor shares that Southern Thedas is in turmoil due to the darkspawn invasion sent by Elgar'nan and Ghilan'nain; without the Inquisitor's help, these regions might have fallen entirely. The Inquisitor is unable to provide much assistance, but does gift Rook a wolf statuette that appeared shortly after Solas was sealed away during his failed ritual. The statuette seems tied to Solas - Morrigan suggests bringing the statuette to the Lighthouse to see if it reacts to anything there where it could potentially provide more information on him.

Rewards[]

  • Codex Update

Results[]

Elgar'nan and Ghilan'nain's forces are at work in many places. Fortunately, the team already has contacts who have begun pushing back. Lady Morrigan and Grey Wardens Antoine and Evka want to discuss their investigations into the gods and the blight.

Speaking to Morrigan and the Inquisitor[]

Well, this is Inquisitor [Name]. The man/woman who led us all.
  • (Diplomatic) (Unique to Inquisitor background)
  • (Humorous) Harding knows everyone. - Harding Approves
  • (Stoic) Why are you here?
  • (Elf Inquisitor and Rook) I greet you.
You've put together an impressive team, and you've got the best chance - maybe the only chance - to stop Elgar'nan and Ghilan'nain.
  • (Diplomatic) You can count on me. - Harding Approves
  • (Stoic) This is on you. - Harding Disapproves
  • (Alarmed) I don't know if we can.
If not for the Inquisitor, the South would have collapsed completely. She/He has not been idle while you assembled your team.
