The Ruins of Heidrun Thaig is all that remains of the once proud Heidrun Thaig.

Background

The thaig was built before the First Blight and it served as an important lyrium mining source for the dwarves.[1] It was dedicated to Paragon Heidrun the Deep whose remains are entombed under a massive stone statue located at the center of the thaig.[2] It is also known that in ancient times an "incident" involving "creatures that wear the faces of the dead" disturbed the mining operations and warranted direct military intervention by the king himself.[1]

Centuries later, members of the Legion of the Dead would often visit the ruins. Once they encountered a rock wraith in an old mine shaft near the thaig.[3] Another time they found a former prison of an Archdemon below Heidrun Thaig filled with darkspawn corpses which died while praying to their god.[4]
