Rowan is a Rivaini seer and a member of the Lords of Fortune.
Background[]
Rowan is a Vashoth that was born in Dairsmuid and was a member of the Circle in Dairsmuid before its annulment in 9:40 Dragon.[1] Rowan has authored several books such as Marloqun: The Loss of Reason, a book about the Antaam Rebellion,[2][3][4][5][6] and Toh Vashoth: A Guide for Qunari Leaving the Qun.[7]
Involvement[]
Dragon Age: The Veilguard[]
Rowan can be found in The Hall of Valor, conversing with a Fereldan Lord of Fortune. They discuss several topics such as Rowan's role as a seer, the difference between Qunari, Tal-Vashoth, and Vashoth, and also the Qunari's treatment of the Saarebas. The Fereldan Lord of Fortune assumed that Rowan was an escaped Saarebas that left the Qun since she communed with spirits, but Rowan corrected her by saying she was never Qunari since she is Vashoth. The Fereldan also believed that all Saarebas would naturally flee the Qun to have a better life in Chantry lands since she believes the Qunari mistreats their mages. Rowan argues that although Qunari mages live a regimented life, all Qunari live regimented lives under the Qun. Therefore, Rowan points out that a Qunari mage has it no worse than a soldier. When the Fereldan Lord of Fortune cited how Qunari mages were treated like animals during the Antaam's stay at Kirkwall, Rowan pointed out it was the Antaam who treated them that way and they've since broken from the Qun because it was not brutal enough for their liking.
After completing Lair of the Dragon King, Rowan will send Taash a request for help with a spirit in need of aid. The spirit told her the tequest involves treasure, as well as a lost Lord of Fortune, Ritzinger. Should Rook look into it, it starts the quest Dead Men Tell Some Tales, which begins when a Spirit of Adventure! asked for help locating lost treasure that a Lord of Fortune, Ritzinger, perished trying to find.
Rowan can also be found in the Rivain Coast, where she starts the quest Wrongs of Annulment. Rowan is helping a Spirit of Compassion in dispatching the undead that are possessed by spirits turned demons from the injustice of the Annulment of Dairsmuid's Circle of Magi. Rowan enlists Rook's help in dispatching the possessed corpses of the templars responsible for the Annulment so the spirit of Compassion can calm the troubled spirits and put the corpses to rest.
