Restless Spirits is a side quest in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

Acquisition[]

This quest can be acquired by speaking to Emmrich in the Lighthouse the first time he has a New Quest icon after Where the Dead Must Go.

Walkthrough[]

When something in the Necropolis Halls unsettles the local wisps, Emmrich asks for help discovering what's disturbed them.

Discover what's disturbing the wisps[]

Travel to the Necropolis Halls and head to the Hollow Bellfry, at which point the quest will update to direct gathering four wisps throughout the room. Moving clockwise through the room, the wisps can be gathered in each of the rooms marked with purple flame as follows:

  • The first wisp is located in a room with a hexagonal stone tablets. Interact with the five scattered tablets in the room to light all of the candles on the table, at which point a wisp will spawn.
  • The second wisp is located in a locked room. Enter the room to the right of it with the purple flame above the door and break the boxes to reveal a lever which unlocks the door. Inside the unlocked room lies the wisp and a memento. Breaking the boards blocking the wisp will cause it to flee into the Bellfry chamber. Walk over to its new location and use Lucanis's ability to bring a giant skeleton arm out of the Fade that can be used to reach the wisp.
  • The third wisp can be found in a room with a Venatori barrier. Use the lever in the room to open the locked room to the right. Destroy one barrier crystal within a stack of crates, and another accessible with a ranged attack aimed through the broken fencing. Return to the original room to destroy another now unshielded crystal, and then finally the barrier itself. Grab the wisp and the chest from this room.
  • The fourth wisp can be found in the last room with a purple flame. Light the two braziers in the room and then use Emmrich's ability to free the trapped wisp.

Bring each wisp to the receptacles at the front of the locked gate at the North-West corner of the room to unlock it.

Enter the unsealed chamber and take out the demons within to complete the quest. Grab the two mementos and the chest in this room before leaving.

Results[]

Emmrich wishes to return to the Necropolis, to help some frightened wisps. Something down in the crypts must have disturbed them.

Emmrich has asked for some help investigating what's disturbed the wisps of the Necropolis. The team will need to guide the wisps to where they feel more comfortable to solve the mystery.

By helping to soothe several wisps of the Necropolis, the team unlocked a strange door that revealed dead Venatori, slaughtered by demons. The cultists were clearly hunting for something before they were killed. And whatever it might be, the local wisps seemed to fear it.

  • The party discovers a group of dead Venatori behind the sealed gate
  • Unlocks the quest Pinnacle of Its Kind, available by interacting with the door at the end of the chamber
