Questioning Beliefs is a companion quest for Fenris in Dragon Age II Act 3.
Acquisition
The quest becomes available at 100% friendship or rivalry.
Walkthrough
- Fenris can leave party permanently at this point if you choose the option "You should leave". He will thank Hawke and state that he will go west.
- The cutscene seen when you speak to Fenris seems to be different depending on whether the player has completed Isabela's Regret. If they have, the cutscene begins with Isabela offering Fenris to sail with her (This does not seem to be the case if the player is in a romance with Isabela and has completed Isabela's Regret, PS3 Ver.1.04). If Isabela is gone, or Isabela's Regret hasn't been completed, it begins with Varric and Aveline speaking with Fenris about his house.
- Note: In some cases, even if you have romanced Isabela and completed Isabela's Regret with the
Ver. 1.04 patch, Isabela still appears in the opening cutscene inviting Fenris to sail with her. - Note: If you killed Castillion and Isabela didn't get the ship, Fenris simply comments that she doesn't own a ship.
- If Hawke was in a romance with Fenris in Act 2, then Fenris will bring up the fact that they "had not talked about what happened between them three years ago." At this point, you will be able to question his reasons for leaving and choose whether to rekindle the relationship, or cut it off permanently. If you have slept with someone else after Fenris left then he wont bring up this part of the conversation.
Result
- If this quest is completed, Fenris immediately agrees to help the mages during the Last Straw. If the quest is not completed, he initially refuses to do so.
