House Harrowmont is one of the oldest noble houses, as old as Orzammar itself. As King Endrin Aeducan's most trusted advisor, Lord Pyral Harrowmont is well known for being an able administrator, and the author of many compromises in the ever-warring Assembly.
Background
Involvement
After the death of King Endrin Aeducan, Harrowmont is one of the candidates for the throne. The Warden can choose to support his claim. If he becomes king he struggles to bring peace to Orzammar, and only succeeds in further isolating the dwarves from the surface world. He dies not long into his reign.
It is hinted that Harrowmont may, in fact, be the fourth child of the King, in the letter addressed to Harrowmont from the King, found in Harrowmont's Estate. The letter's last sentence reads: "I come to you not as a king, but as a father."
Strategy
There is no strategy to dealing with Harrowmont as you will never fight him. However, after he is crowned King, he will give you the staff he carried as King Endrin's second, which is quite a good weapon for spell casters.

- Harrowmont is voiced by the same actor who voiced Saul Karath in BioWare's "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic".
- If the player character joins forces with Bhelen, When he ascends to the throne he will order Harrowmont executed. It can later be heard from criers "News of the Hour. Lord Harrowmont arrested, pending execution. Epic Fail."
