Changes: Primeval Lyrium Rune

Primeval Lyrium Rune is a weapon rune in Dragon Age II. It increases the attack speed of the weapon which it's applied to. The exact amount of the increase depends on the quality of the weapon (values up to 39% have been reported). The rune is unique.

Acquisition

The rune can only be obtained by giving the Lyrium idol shard to Sandal during the quest Haunted (Act 3).

Trivia

In Dragon Age: The World of Thedas Volume 1, it is clarified that the official name of this type of lyrium is "red lyrium". This is further supported by Dragon Age: Inquisition.

A golden glow emanates from the briefcase and all the characters react as if it is the most beautiful thing they've seen. When Sandal crafts the rune, Hawke, Bodahn, and Sandal all appear behind the crafting table. There is a partially unrolled scroll which obscures the player's view as to what the primeval rune looks like, but Hawke and the dwarves have rather reverent looks upon their faces as a golden glow radiates from where the rune is assumed to be.
