Mistress Poulin is the leader of the town of Sahrnia in Emprise du Lion and owner of the nearby granite quarry.[1]

Involvement[]

This section contains spoilers for:
Dragon Age: Inquisition.

The mining trade which had long been a major source of income for Sahrnia collapsed due to the War of the Lions. To ease the economic strain, Mistress Poulin sold her family's quarry to the Red Templars, unaware that their true motives were to use the quarry to grow red lyrium. Eventually, the Red Templars demanded miners for the quarry. Knowing the Red Templars would likely kill her and take the villagers anyway if she refused, Poulin agreed and used the profits to sustain the citizens who remained.

She does not inform any authority about the situation in Sahrnia — including the Inquisition — when they arrive in the area to fight the templars.

Eventually, her treachery may be discovered by the Inquisitor when they assault the Red Templars at Suledin Keep as part of an offensive to secure Emprise du Lion. Poulin is imprisoned by the Inquisition and brought to Skyhold for judgment. The Inquisitor may:

  • Seize Poulin's financial assets for House Trevelyan (Human Inquisitor only)
  • Grant Poulin a pardon and release her
  • Sentence Poulin to hard labor
  • Execute Poulin
  • Have Poulin use her funds to rebuild Sahrnia (must have completed Quarry Quandary)
If Poulin is told to rebuild the town, she is grateful for the opportunity and later asks the Inquisition for aid in moving supplies to the town.

  • There is a reference to an "Alban Poulin" in the description of the Sahrnia Quarry landmark, but it's unclear whether this is a reference to Mistress Poulin or one of her relatives.
