Olivia is an apostate mage living in Kirkwall.

Background[]

This section contains spoilers for:
Dragon Age II.

Olivia is the daughter of Ser Thrask, a Templar, and Ambra, a prostitute who worked at The Blooming Rose. At the age of nine, Olivia manifested magical abilities. Her father was worried about his daughter's well-being and instructed her mother to hide her from the Circle of Magi.[1]

Olivia understood the risks that her father took to keep her safe, and although she only saw him rarely she loved him greatly for it.

When Olivia reached adulthood she began to fear for her father's safety, knowing the grave consequences he could face for harboring an apostate. She decided to lift the burden from her father, and leave Kirkwall forever.

Involvement[]

Dragon Age II.

Olivia is involved in the quest Wayward Son. Hawke encounters Olivia at Arthuris's Private Dock while they are investigating an apostate smuggling ring. Olivia has been cornered by the raider and slaver Captain Reiner. With no chance of escape, Olivia succumbs to possession by a demon, turning into an abomination.

Olivia is killed alongside Captain Reiner and his guards by Hawke and party. Looting the abomination's remains reveals her identity as Thrask's daughter and begins the quest An Errant Letter.

Bug icon Bug! Olivia's letter may not be obtainable if a mage has Death Syphon active when the abomination is killed; see side quest An Errant Letter for additional details.
