Necromancer is a mage specialization in Dragon Age: Inquisition.

Necromancers can use the Horror spell, a 3 meter area of effect that will incite all enemies within its field to flee in terror for 6 seconds. When upgraded, it will cause spirit damage for the duration.

As per their namesake, Necromancers can utilize Spirit Mark, which will cause spirit damage to their target over a duration of 12 seconds unless toggled off. Should the victim die while marked, the spirit will mimic the victim's body for 15 seconds and fight on your behalf. Upgrading Spirit Mark will increase the spirit's duration to 45 seconds.

Perhaps one of the most notorious spells in a Necromancer's arsenal, Walking Bomb will curse a single target to sustain heavy spirit damage over 10 seconds. Should the victim die within this duration, their curse will trigger a violent explosion, gravely damaging others within a 5 meter radius of their corpse. When upgraded, any enemy hit by an explosion from Walking Bomb has a chance of being affected by the Walking Bomb curse.

With passive abilities, the Necromancer can gain a bonus to their spell damage for a short time from killing an enemy, automatically consume the corpses of nearby fallen enemies to restore lost portions of both health and mana, weaken all panicked enemies to sustain increased damage from all sources, and finally, if knocked unconscious, a spirit under the player's control will arrive to take on the Necromancer's likeness and continue their fight for 10 seconds, during which the Necromancer may not be revived by any means until the spirit leaves.

The Necromancer's Focus Spell is Haste. Unlike in previous games, Haste will now artificially increase your entire team's speed by instead slowing down all enemies within the area for an increasing amount of time based on ability tier. The Slow intensity remains at 85% throughout.

Notes

A necromancer will be a playable character in the Dragon Age: Inquisition multiplayer. Dorian, a companion in the game, is also a necromancer.[citation needed]
