Ser Michel Lafaille was an Orlesian chevalier and the first Viscount of Kirkwall.

Michel Lafaille led the Orlesian army to take Kirkwall back from the Qunari in 7:60 Storm.[1] The city was incorporated into the Orlesian Empire, and Lafaille was appointed the city's first viscount by the emperor. Lafaille made it his mission to undo the religious conditioning of the Kirkwall citizens. His bloodline remained popular enough that when the city finally rebelled against Orlesian rule in 8:05 Blessed, "Viscount" remained the title for Kirkwall's rulers despite its origin.[2]

- The BioWare Blog states that it was Sir Lumile du Marais[3] who became the first viscount. This is in contradiction with both the codex entry and Lafaille's description in Dragon Age: The World of Thedas Volume 1.
